I hope thats how its done, people talk about dual wielding stuns or gaffs and this would be more along the lines of kali or escrima (tho its already what i think our animations lean towards).

I dont really like our current animations... I dont want to wield one gaffi or stun baton, so 2 of them ? NO way Lol

I agree we should get a knockdown attack, otherwise whats the point in our dizzy hit? At this point they really need to work something in about exceptional dodging also. Otherwise even with the nerf, i fear TKA is doomed to still beat other melee in pvp cuz their knockdown 2 which also dizzies and leaves people like us who dodge just the same as them but had a disadvantage incapable of ever winning a duel.

One more thing, i vote we get rid of the friggin gaffi stick from the game, because ive never seen an uglier weapon, nor a fencer who uses a stick with a sharp point to take down his target.

kinda new to forums, but i believe we need a gun attack special. Something that either damages the opponents weapon (like double decay) or causes them a delay in using it. I think this would be useful agaist kiters in PvP (say the special only works on a moving opponent)


Cause in a real battle, a sword would easily disable a rifle, or pistol for that mater.

or maybe change lunge two, so that a novice fencer gets it, instead of a master brawler. Then a master fencer give is Lunge 3, this can be out knockdown move, it woul dbe very practical to have agaist kiters. They run, you run after (/lunge3) and jump on them, thus knocking them down.


Can we get some Terrain negotion bonus too, we supposed to be fast.

There are 2 main issues when dealing with the fencer specials.


The more obvious one is that of the fencer AE attacks. First of all, spin hit 2 and blind hit 2 are pretty much exactly the same. Secondly, dizzy hit 2 does more damage than the other two level 2 AE attacks, thus negating any usefulness of spin hit 2, since it's effect is replaced by the blind 2, and its damage is out-done by the dizzy 2. The simple remedy to this would be to reduce the damage of dizzy 2 down to that of blind 2, and increase spin 2 up to the current dizzy 2. In a simpler means of understanding, spin hit 2 should have no more status effect (unless they wish to add stun ) and do twice the damage level of dizzy 2 and blind 2.


The hidden issue is in the natural goodness of the scatter hit series. I've said it before, but I really would like to stress this to becoming a 3-tiered attack. However, I would likeit if the randomizer in the attack was removed, and that it woulddistributeitsdamage evenly across all 3pools, causing a white-near white damage number floating above their head with each hit.

Whenever i think of fencers i picture the fencers from the Princess Bride movie, cocky and confident. Going with this attidtude i think that fencers should get a newattack effect called Fluster. Becasuse of our high dodge status we could induce a kind of confused beserk in our opponents that would lower their defense and delay their ability to use their specials. Also instead of a kd that looks like a hard strike i would perfer a kd that looked more like a trip.

I think fencer is fine without a KD, as they can just get master brawler. I really like the idea of a disarming attack and fixing the damn area attacks.

My knowledge of fencing is pretty much confined to drama productions and stuff I read since getting interested in fencingthrough playing. But it seems to me that much of fencing is about countering what an opponent is doing and looking for anopening to deal a singe mortal blow.I am not so sure howto translate that into a game concept.When I think of fencers I think it should be a class that can neutralize other's attempts to deal damage better than it cause s damage itself. I just am not sure how you would get that sense I do from fencing that the fencer either has to wear the opponent down of create an opening for a single fatal blow. The best I can come up with is that there should be an attack that a fencer can use either in certain circumstances or by forfeiting some defense that allows the fencer to bypass all armor protection occasionally. I kind of envision a fencer as being an enormous pest. An opponent that is hard to get rid of, is not going to overwhelm you with damage but that always has the potential to become mortally dangerous suddenly if ignored too long. Just a thought. I think making fencer a bug damage dealer just runs contrary to the concept of the classs.

I would also like to see the area attacks fixed in terms of damage and usefulness. Also, with the advent of stun layered compostie now with upwards of 45% layering, the regular stun batons are pretty much going to be worthless because of the AP0 and lower damage output and medium to low speed. Need a newer weapon that is AP1 at least with a better speed and damage. Maybe one is in the works, who knows.


Sure, you can get a slightly better baton with Ackley Bones, but you'd need exceptional ones to battle the new stun resists now showing up in armor.


Yes, Swordsman, Pikeman, Carbineer, and Rifleman all need a higher speed cap because doing 4k area damage at near the speed cap is ridiculous.


The Parry idea is excellent, would like to see that as a Master special. I'd just be a way to block incoming attacks for a short period of time with a CoB like mind useage. It would give the Fencer a defensive advantage for s hort period of time for them to recoup a little.
