I will stick to my previous post in this thread. all held equal, a true tkm vs a true fencer, a tk will win simply because of mind shot. A fencer just cannot dish enough damage to someone buffed and armored. now if it is unarmored, a good gaffi will inflict a lot of damage and will do so very fast. close call on that one.

Well my friend there was a day when a fencer would whomp on a TKM. But since then they nerfed bleeds, nerfed stun damgae, and nerfed some fencer specials. Thus leaving my favorite profession in the game, which I've been a master of for over a year, worthless. So to answer your question, TKM would win.

If both the TKM and Fencer were buffed, armored and have taken their brandy the loser would be determined by one of three factors.

1. who loses their buffs first
2. whose armor/psg breaks first
or
3. Who falls asleep first because they have been dueling for three hours

There is a reason why dots rule pvp. It's because of the armor + buff situation we have now. One player by himself can't damage another player at all because of it, especially if they are intimidated as well. Discussing which one will beat the other is pointless because neither can damage each other therefore there would be no winner.

As for who would win if neither had armor on, a tkm should easily be able to beat a fencer. This is simply because they can target the mind while a fencer is stuck with just random pool or health hits which are easily healed.

tkm cant damage in real pvp not duels with comp and buffs its a fact unless your on your back theyre lame arse no ar pearce kinetic theyre only thing they have on fencer is mind target and speed meditate doesnt help u in battle /slap who wages war without armor /slap dots ? oh tkas cant use them duh theyre gimp...

Be careful... remember when Tiggs and Thunderheart acknowledged the pearl drop problem with premium / flawless? Look what came out of that one. *Can't fix it.. so you screw you guys

um...you should have read my posts before posting random stuff

tk does more damage than fencer in pvp thats a fact.

tk has dots. thats also a fact.


When I was a noob duels lasted for 3 hours. I don't use dots much, not really in duels, and if you know what you are doing the duel will not last that long. If your VK is decent (at least 250 max with a pup) their mind will go down slowly but surely.

Fencer will do 300 stun, 40 stun armor, 45 stun psg basically same as armor almost, (although some things apply before armor does i believe), 57% in toughness

the reductions are multiplicative not additive.


(1-.85)(1-.32) = .102 or 10.2% damage done = TKM damage to Fencer


(1-.40)(1-.45)(1-.57) = .1419 or 14.19% damage == Fencer damage to TK






don't forget that the 300 stun will get 50% lopped off immediately b/c it's not armor peircing.


(1-.50)(1-.40)(1-.45)(1-.57) = .0709 or 7.09% damage == Fencer damage to TK

Tkm or fencer mmmm fencer (for pvp),,,i am tkm master fencer medic 4-4-4-3,i love tk and fencer ,they both have there bad points and good points.Pve lets face it fencer is craptkm is far beter ,high end mobs fencers just canthandle em.Try soloing the geo cave as a fencer ud be there for years dueling the first few mobs.Pvp fencer,,,in a duel face ityou dont wana lose so if by using dots it helps u win good, u need the best baton u can get your hands on ,i got a min 255 max 292 baton which is ok but really needs to be beter .id hit em with poison dot janta knife (mine 164) scatterhit 2 or 1hand3 sorted,although for real stubon pvpers tkm comes in handy with kd2 and mind hit,also applying intim and blind is a must,bleed dont waste the time using it.As for dueling tkms np they dont bother me,,but i will admit i will use tk in a duel if need be , .If i had to drop 1 of them it would be tk to maybe go swords for pve,as for pvp fencer is the beter 1 for me,but i would miss some of the benefits of tk.

Well, im not exeptional in pvp, but i can kill a tkm... sometimes....


this is what i do.... i have my janta knife equiped ahead of time (i looted this off a janta). and i hope for the best that i stab the tkm first before im knoced down.

Then i dizzy hime then lunge at him. he may or porlly wont fall :/


well even with me on the ground... hes using up all his mind and hes posined. when ever i get up... i melee hit3 him and hope i hit his mind... if i do i win...


end of story.


oh yeah never use gertaffti on an armored guy.. its just not good :/

I don't see how a Fencer could lose against a TKM. This is all you need to kill a TKM: Vasarian Brandy (about +400 is good), A composite armor helmet and chestpiece (both 80% resist to kinetic), Muon Gold, and some canape. Musician and Dancer buffs would be very helpful, but not essential. Equip the helmet and chestpiece, double up on brandy, and either hotkey the Muon and Canape or make sure you can get to it quickly. Dr. buffs are required to compete, but you guys know that...

Once you start fighting, take the time to stack some intimidates (this along with your Armor will cripple the TKM's damage output). I like to warcry and stack em up. Then blind him and go for the KD Dizzy, or just go for the latter depending on your preference. Once he's on the ground go for the kill. If he's down for a while, you should be able to hack his health down with your stun baton. This fight is gonna come down to who is KD+Dizzied the longest. If he stands up I'd warcry him, stack some more intimidates, and start over, or if he has no medic skills just keep hacking at his health (being mindful of your HAM you may not even need to worry about KD+Dizzying him again).

In the case that you find yourself laying on your back while the TKM is attacking your mind, eat as many canapes as you can. Your mind will regen so fast that he will barely be doing damage to you. If you're mind is really low then muon, the downer won't come for 10 min. and that's long enough for 1 fight. Get back on your feet as quickly as you can, and make sure the TKM is always intimidated.

If the you and the TKM are very experienced PvPers then the battle could last forever. A good TKM will keep you Stunned/Blinded/Intimidated, making your damage output pathetic. Likewise, the good fencer will keep the TKM intimidated and will be wearing Armor etc. to make the TKMs damage suck.

Neither of you may win, but at least you won't die. TKM has got to be one of the weakest professions except against jedi. With your armor and mind buffs, his only strength, mind damage, is more or less nullified.

its really not about the profession, most pros are equal. It all depends on your experiance with pvp and with the profession, the more you pvp and experiment the better you will do against a noob who just mastered tk, creture handler.

i'll agree with that.. i got into a fight with a master fencer a few days ago basically everything you stated to have ready was what happened.. minus entertainer buffs, duel lasted for about 15 mins with no progress either way.. ended duel and called it a draw. if both professions are evry skilled, this is how it will end, but honestly the fencer has to have a good baton (gaffi or stun) ive gone completely unarmored against fencers and keeping them intimidated and stunned they would only do like 20-30 dmg to me.. after everything if you have a good baton, it will be higher and thats the only way.

I am long time Master of TKA, and soon to be Master of Fencer, and have to say (IMO) both profs. can kick the other profs. a$$ if used correctly. The TKA can land a KD and beat the crap outta the fencer, or the fencer can dodge everything and just beat the mess outta the TKA. So IMO there's some luck involved, and both prof. is very good.
