Hmmm, OK well thanks for the insight. I am getting better at getting it to stick but to be honest I'm not sure "how" -- other than that I am learning to read the icons a bit better/faster and making less mistakes (I assume).

It definitely 'balks' if I try to reapply it before the first one has faded, which is kind of annoying. I don't want it to STACK, that would be ridiculous... but if I reapply it 5 seconds before it fades it should just extend the life of the thing 1 full COB duration. So if 45 seconds is the time, and I reapply it, it jumps from 5 back up to 45 (not 50, not 45+5, just 45). I don't mind having to re-click but having to do it with split-second perfection is a bit irritating.

Something I've found worth doing is having it kick off twice at the start:

/center
/pause 5
/center
/pause 46
/(point to macro)

helps slightly.

I have no problems with using CoB at all. Though, I must admit that it doesnt work when you are moving or until the previous one has completely worn off. The problem with it is that if you hit CoB when its not worn off then youll have to wait until it cools down to tryí it again. When hitting CoB and at the same moment you are hit it won't work but you don't have to wait until it cools down so a second later you can hit it again and this time it will work properly.

Or at least this is what I experienced.

If they want TKM to be the main tank, COB should not break during the warm up phase if we get hit (or move or whatever). It just doesn't make sense. The skill only lasts for 45 seconds and we are going to be taking hits and moving during that entire time frame, making it impossible to keep COB on for the duration of a battle, which renders the skill useless.

It should work like it used to work and be a skill w/o a warm up timer. It should stick when you hit it, regardless of whether you are taking damage or moving. Otherwise, you have to take yourself out of the battle every 45 seconds to get your COB defenses back up and running. A good tankshouldn't be forced to runaway fromthe fightevery 45 seconds.

The main problem is, COB is what makes us NOT get hit. But we have to wait till it DROPS to re-apply it, which means, the instant it drops, you're getting hit, and getting hit negates it. This leads to an endless loop, the only way out of which is to do a knockdown. If that fails, you now have to wait even longer to get it up, being pounded all the while.

This just doesn't seem very well thought out at all. Is COB too "uber" to be up all the time? Fine. Nerf it a little bit. I'd rather have +350 defense ALWAYS ON, than +500 that doesn't work half the time.

Sometimes CoB just does not work. You can stand perfectly still and not be in combat and it can take three tries to get it to fire off. I have had this happen to me many times now. Usually it works fine, but sometimes it just won't apply.

Ditto... I had this happen the other night. My pet was attacking and my friend the carbineer was attacking and after a few seconds he said, "Why are you just standing there???" and I responded, "Trying to get COB to fire." His response was,"Don't you just press the button?" LOL...

Sadly, no...

This to is a constant problem for me. It seems to happen after I kill something and the next command is unable to exicute. That command darkens everytime I hit the COB command and COB cancles out. It really hurts when I'm in the middle of battle. I've submitted many /bug on this

Just thought I'd mention that a recent publish ( yesterday? added the ability to re-buff before a buff expires, and this works for CoB.

I can now re-CoB when it starts blinking under the HAM bar ( less than 10 seconds less ), and it will re-apply and replace the expiring CoB with a new one.

I still have occasional issues where CoB doesn't seem to want to "stick" in my combat macro, but I haven't diagnosed it yet to understand why. But the rebuff ability addition to SWG means that if I miss it, I can still stop and apply it manually if necessary.

Something has changed. I played with COB for about 2 hours last night and it restarted very reliably - as long as I didn't move during the wind-up. I could attack (I had a default autoattack checked) and get hit, and it always reapplied. But if I was running betweenmobs - it would fail. I took the advice of the others (above) put a tell into my macro (COB is about to wind up) and a 5 second delay before calling the macro. That was my cue to stand still (but I was still attacking/defending myself) - and it worked.

It worked well too.

I am a TKM + Master Pikeman + Master Brawler (level 80) and I was fighting level 81 Female Picket Longhorns

They were hitting mefor 149 damage (I was not wearing armor) per attack

I'd fire the COB: 149 damage would drop to 62 damage per attack

Then I'd use Improved Intimidate: 62 damage would drop to 49 pts per attack.

So overall I got a 66% damage reduction using COB and Improved Intimidate (149 --> 49 pts)
