I believe that is correct

If you ever try swordsman you will notice the difference

But I do dodge counterattack and block, but I never use CoB

yep your right, if u tried to center while u had a flame thrower it wouldnt work, ou can only center w/ one weapon at a time and the center works only if u have the weapon your centering w/ equiped

There are 4 different kinds of Center of Being, one for each melee style, but none of them will work with a ranged weapon equipped.

I think CoB not sticking when we move or get hit during the wind up phase is intended. The other stuff is probably a bug.

Well then how are we supposed to bring it back up after it fades the first time in a battle? Or is it supposed to just be effective for the first 45 seconds of every battle? I mean, as far as I can tell I can't "overlap" it. I have to wait for it to drop before I can reactivate it. But with it dropped, I'm going to get hit now (I have innate armor so I have some protection but I am going to get hit a lot), and so now every time I try to bring it BACK up it's going to fail... And this is... intended?

That's a little bit like giving me an umbrella that folds up after 45 seconds of a rainstorm and will not let me open it back up if it gets wet when I try.

I managed to get it restarted pretty often in a fight, so it is doable.

HOW do you do it? That is my problem. Can someone please give me some lessons here? Because it just is not working for me.

I usually do a leg sweep, and start CoB in the time the enemy is standing up.

Is anyone else having trouble getting Center of Being (COB) to "stick" properly? If I just stand in my house and fire it without doing anything else, it lasts 45 seconds. Sounds good.

BUT... everything under the sun seems to interrupt it. If I happen to have my finger resting on the 'w' key and my character moves a micro-meter while it is "revving up" to fire (the little yellow bar), it cancels. If I get hit while it is revving up to fire, it cancels. If I jump the gun and hit it a second or two before the first one drops, it doesn't cancel... it just does nothing. And sometimes even when none of that happens, I fire it and no buff icon appears for no reason I can even fathom. And sometimes when I hit it the icon comes up and stays solid, then flashes with 10 seconds left (this makes sense -- to warn ya), but other times (usually after it has failed or cancelled once, and lasting until I do a zone) when it comes up, it comes up in "flashing" mode as if it is about to drop right away -- and then sometimes it sticks anyway, flashign for 45 seconds, but other times it drops in 5-10 seconds. Sometimes in battle I will just have to stand there trying to hit it over and over again getting it to stick (and getting tooled on in the mean time).

This is our main defense. Is there some way to make it "stick" reliably? Is it supposed to be this flakey? Or am I missing something here?

Thanks for any help.

i have my CoB on a macro... the leg sweep then a 1 sec pause (seemed to help better), then CoB, then about a20 second pause and repeat... seemed to work for me incase i forget... sorry i don't have the macro written here, not on my gaming comp atm...

I haven't had too uch trouble getting it to reapply. Sometimes it sticks, sometimes not. I may be missing something about how and when you're trying to reapply CoB, so excuse me if I'm telling you things you already know. By the time CoB drops, it's ready to reapply. Just make sure you don't overlap specials by activating CoB and immediately throwing a different special. That will cancel CoB. Just hit COB and wait for the yellow warmup progress bar to appear and run out.

If the CoB idon doesn't appear under you status (HAM bars), it didn't take. Try again.

I have a problem with CoB working if I accidentaly hit it before it has completely worn off. It will think it will become unavilable until I have attacked again or equiped a weapon, then I have to hit it again. Sometimes the terrain seems to prevent it from working for some reason too, whether I am in combat or not.

what i have come across is that it works 100% of the time if...

1) i dont move. like i dont even touch the keyboard or the mouse.

2) i am in combat

3) i am in melee range of my target

it has worked other times as well, but with each requirement that isnt met, the chance of success goes way down.

It doesnt seem to matter if i am getting hit or not.

thanks and good luck
