Thread: Fencer Weapon Rebalance 2.0 revisions made.

No, this is true. And I would be patient to wait for the combat rebalance for the new weapons, to be sure.

But in the meantime, the Combat Rebalance keeps getting pushed back more and more, and there is no hard deadline for when it will be released.

So, until then, would there be any objection to moving the Ryyk and the Rantok up to AP1, and leaving the rest as is? It should be something as simple as a database or coding setting, so that the game sees it as such, plus it should be easily reversable.

Would it be ok to push for that in the meantime, given the unknown timeframe of the combat balance?

Its absolutly something to push for, I would like to see the Rantok bumped rather than the Rykk personally. But to push for something it has to be a balancing issue which I belive it is on our PvE part

man haveing AP blade weapons are ok. but Blade weapons in fencer class are insainly High on HAM cost.

ryyk blade cost almost tripple ham as gab baton dose on ham cost. If this is the cost at haveing AP. ill still use my gad baton, so i wont kill myself on ham cost!

Actually, I think bumping them up to AP 1 would almost justify the HAM cost - I have begun to rely on buffs anyway. I hardly ever fight without a buff any more...

I am not a fencer, nor have I ever been. Instead of having the dot on your weapon, how about the master sword giving you some stat changes, like exceptional weapons have?

For example, (I have no idea what you got for stats, so bear with me), your master sword, upon completion, gives you the following stat modifiers when equipped.

+10 or + 15 1-handed accuracy

+10 1-handed speed

+10 Dodge

Or something along those lines. If a master weapon was made for each class, theneach class would have different mods, according to whatever that class has for skills.

This is just a general idea, as somoene (sorry, forgot your name) already said, having a BE get different samples might be too hard to code into the game without disasterous results.

I would take these over a dot any day.

The problem is that some stats are "capped", so even if you add them in, they will only go so far. I wouldn't want stats if I did not get the full effect anyway.

I only mentioned DOT because it would be something that an opponent could experience, leading to respect for the blade. Unless the blade either has a DOT or some shnazzy special effects (ala Energy lance), I doubt anyone would view it as anything other than just another sword.

well i always fight with buffs. and i think my gad baton uses 10 mind points per speical while ryyk blade uses about 24. THATS alot of mind ham. and its weaker then my gad. just hard too use a weapon weaker then gad and have higher ham cost, even for AP1.

What is needed to be known then is if stats granted by a weapon will push beyond the cap, such as Squad Leader skills can grant defenses beyond the 125 cap, and so can food.

I appreciate the fact that the master sword has different options as opposed to all-in-one. That would go a long way to helping master fencers come up with a style of their own.

With regards to customizing the DOT, perhaps BEs would get specific schematic that would be crafted using DNA and a sword core-- I'm not sure, but maybe this would fix the stats, so crafting the weapon would not need to refer to the specific DNA.

you need one more dmg type besides kinetic and stun.

something that would make sense though, not acid or heat, i mean seriously , an acid sabre ? thats rediculous.

also, fencing profession does need a single AP2 weapon, it doesnt have to be unbalancing, in fact, i would make it weak, like the current vibroblade, but of course much much higher certified. just so we have a capability of damaging high end mobs.

other then that its fine.

Just one thing about the acid and heat swords Pire.

If you think it's dumb to give fencer an acid or heat weapon dmg type, then look at Tk's new weapon.
