Thread: Please explain how TKM is more powerful than Fencer

I'm a blademaster with the meditation tree and precision tree from TKA. My third prof is currently Merchant. After my silent holo, i will add back m. brawler and master swordsman or TKA. I don't have master brawler(used to have but dropped forholo merchant) and I can pretty much take on anything. I can beat the purist fencer or tka just about everytime if they don't understand how to be effective in the profession, which sadly is most of them.


The devs give you alot of skill points. I suggest using them to optimize for your style of play. PVP alot and you will learn what works for you and what doesn't. You will loose alot before you perfect your template for your style of play. This goes for any profession. In the end do whatever makes the game fun for you, however, don't master a single combat profession and expect to take on someone with a pvp template. When fighting an opponent its not the title you see thats important, its what isn't in the title. If you see a TKM winning against a Blademaster chances are the TKM is also something else and vice versa.

Ok we did some more tests today, just a little competition too se who would win.

My TKM friend and a blademaster/Master doctor (unbuffed b4 you start ) had a little tournament, and it was split down the middle, it came down to if the TKM got a KD/dizzy in and make it stick or if the fencer got his blind/dizzy/lunge macro in first.

SO i still stand by that fencer is just as good as TKM.

(oh and btw i dueled both of them and slapped them both like little **edit** )

Speaking as someone that has been both TKM and Blademaster, twice, I'll explain.


PvE... TKA will obliterate a single target faster than a fencer. A fencer while slower to kill a single target, has a MUCH higher survivability factor against a group mobs. That is IF he/she has a the brains to use CoB. Case in point the Tusken Fort of Tat. A hotspot for both TKA and Fencers. The TKA's will slaughter an elite guard or gore chief, a fencer however could hold his own against 6 guards or so.


PvP... I fought a number of battles between the two classes. It breaks down to one thing. Fencer hit CoB first, he wins. TKM lands a successful KD2 first he wins.

Fencers can beat TKM, but it's very hard unless you have the defense vs dizy/kd from another class....I know when I was the pistoleer/fencer NO TKM could kill me...Now I only have 60 kd/dizy defense and the only way I can beat tkm if melee dueling is to mind bleed with rifle, then melee....They can dizy+kd me n/p...But my bleeds are so mean they can't spam specials

You could always dizy+kd the tkm from the get go though, but the ones I duel In my guild have the stacked dizy/kd defense

Actually as a 2/0/3/2 TK I can handle at least 5 tusken guards by my self. I found this out at the tusken bunker when all my group went LD and I was left to kill 5 tusken guards by my self. I did have to use a little strategy though... I was a Master Medic and a Zabrak, soI healed myself whever I got low on health or action, and then when I got low on mind I just hit Equilibrium to get over half my mind pool back.

A TKM is more powerful than a fencer on the concept of damage. As a tkm i can put out about 1500 bare handed with vk over 2k. I can target any pool i feel is most useful. I have a stronge meditation line that lets me buff myself. i have 57 unarmed toughness and 62 melee/range defence. And i have the accuracy of a god. If DA(tkm's get 96 defence acuity)was working correctly i would be the best defence class. As for most of the fencers that say they cant be touch by a tkm they are probably fencers/pistolneer wich is basically untouchable by everything thats why they are nerf the stacking.


As a fencer i have 17 more melee defence than a tkm. I have 105 dodge compared to there 96 defencer acuity. And i have a lot of special defences.


If a pure fencer was to duel a pure tkm no docbuffs or spice. A tkm has a better chance at winning seeing how there damage is not affect by damage migration, they have powerboost, and they can adsorb a **edit** load more damage than any fencer can. And if you think cob really stops them from hitting you become a pure fencer and see how many times you can dodge there awsome accuracy.

in PVE,i can do 3-5k damage, i own anyone in pvp too

Donny there is no way in hell your doing 3-5k damage on a standing target in pve as a fencer. Unless you have a legendary weapon that isnt possible. Also i said pure fencer and pure tkm everyone has stacked defences once the patch comes and they are unstacked tkm will dominate most fencers.

I have done 4k with a TUSKIN DEATH HUNTER GAFFI, DAMAGE SLICED. HAd something like a 260 base, 9 mind cost, it IS possible, just very hard.



Fencer is infinitly more powerful then TKM, if pair'd with Mstr brawler.



I have combat fought a TKM, Unarmed, it was domination on the fencer's part (Fencer destroyed the tkm)


With weapons, Same quality materials and expirimentation, unsliced, FEncer and TKM were prety close to even, Boil'd down to howmany health hits in a row you got basicly.



With specials, Tkm and Fencer are doing about the same, Speed? same, damage? Cho Mok 2500, Spitting Rawl, 2500.



All in the weapon and slices.

Oh, oh, you mean beat them? Well looking at your sig I can see why. Melee defense like that is truely awesome, and even if you start losing you can lowblow/panicshot and get away to use your pistol. That and you can't spell Teras Kasi right.


I bet a TKM would have a shot at beating you if you didn't have the stacked defense. Just like you'd murder a TKM who couldn't land a Charging Wampa.


Both classes have their strengths and weaknesses. Neither is really "weaker" overall.

+70 defense vs KD isnt pure TKA, seeing how TKA gets +20. People keep pairing up other classes and saying "oh i beat the crap out of this blah blah" Hes talking about pure Fencer and TKA. Besides, how many TKAs went and got the defenses from Fencer? Nuf said.
