FYI, melee defense is a factor of hit/miss. More melee defense=more a melee opponent will miss.
Its not a factor of damage.
Since a krayt will hit you every single time, melee defense is a non factor against them.

crowd control damage dealer sounds good to me.. Im really starting to like the idea of carb/fencer it will be the second template i try. I am a rifle/fencer now so i will give that a go first..

I think its safe to say he dosnt care anymore
but if you are planning on slowly getting back to us, will we be short sword weilders? or still using sticks + rods?

First, I say forget what is. It's going to be so radically different from how it is now overall that any comparison to how it was is going to be like comparing bannanas to Ipods.
Secondly, we've seen how many new swords for one handed already? I think it's safe to assume that most of us are going to be putting down our Gaffies and Stun Bats. In favor of Acid Swords, RSF Swords and the like.
Alot of how Fencers perform is going to be based on what secondary professions you choose. Most Melee attacks will be useable by most melee weapons so that big two handed sword hit who's delay/refresh is really long when combined with a Scythe, might just be worth while when combined with a RSF Sword and a big bleed.

thx for the reply. just one mroe question that isnt wuite specific to fencer alone. Will SWG be ahnded over from the world of melee to ranged? and also
will my pikeman speed tapes be worthelss come the CU as you mentioned about fencers be the only speed-capped prof? (Well not only but ya get my idea)

No profession will be speed capped. All Speed SEA's will likely have some effect, though that effect lessens the higher the skill goes. And the intention is that every profession ranged and melee will have a specific tactical role, so the game will not be based entirely on one or the other but rather situaltionally dependant.

On PvP...
PvP will likely be less about how uber your equipment is, but more about how well your team works to cover eachothers weaknesses. Which means a much more tactically active PvP environment. Which will actually work to resolve some major problems I have with PvP as a player.

this is exactly what i wanted to hear. after playing on TC5 with about 10 other radianteers in one guild, i finalyl realised hte importance of HOW to team PvP. with no uber weapons around, and everyone having crappy equipment, anyone can win as long as you can work together.
dang, that sounded preachy

Fencers will be the ONLY profession with a bleed attack of any kind.
Now my question for you Minerunner, I asked this a long time ago, but maybe things have changed.
Is the marauder sword a onehand weap
