TKM vs Fencer is quite simple


First to get KD DIzzy


or


If Fencer has uberstun baton i.e made withuber rancor teeth or acklay bone. (the loot madestun batonsarentdead in pvp)


Personally I would go with the fencer win7 times out of 10 because of better weapon potential.


Not to mentionTKM will be hitting 90% but to be honest this fight could go on a loooong time since both sides will be doing so little damage to each other through armor, food, intimidation, toughness.

while i enjoyed the above analysis and find it very true in most regards, i'd have to disagree with the final conclusion...

If we were to have both a fencer and a tka max out all they can using foods, drugs, wutever, TKAs will win without a doubt. Plus tkas have much higher damage than us simply due to combo of unarmed damage modifiers + vibroknucks (this never made sense to me... unarmed is hand to hand; but the vibroknuck is pretty much a punchdagger which categorizes as a blade weapon (1h melee) rather than unarmed...)


and besides, i really want to see a fencer do 3k+ dmg a hit a secondon a tusken warlord... cuz i'm seeing that happen everyday by tkas...

quite a few of these posts aren't taking into account that people can get 80% stun resistance too.... so stun batons would be just as worthless as vk. I also like to point out that if people are buffed..... first person to land a kd dizzy doesn't mean they will win... a skilled player can come back from something like that i know i have.

Man does no one even remeber that kinetic psg are in game? Fencer wins.

A pure TKM vs. a pure Fencer, both with nothing else in their templates, A fencer should win. Although the TK will probably dish out more damage and can soak up much more damage than the fencer, the fencer has CoB and way more state defeneses. TKM has almost no defenses, so as soon as I the fencer gets Dizzy+Posture down, they will proly win.

Actually still, TKM is the second best melee when it comes to posture down and recovering from kd/dizzy. I wasn't even TKM but I was able to stand up usually after the 1st or 3rd time at the most. Compared to when I was a swordman and pikeman from when once I was KD/dizzied I couldn't stand back up till the dizzy wore off or I got really lucky and was able to get back up. Fencer is even better. If I get kd/dizzied as a fencer even when not fully through the profession I could still stand back up usually the first time up. Although as far as damage and armor is concerned. PSGs are bugged in that anything with AP1 or greater doesn't seem to be blocked by a psg. So with this little bug, VKs with their AP1 aren't affected by a psg. A stun baton on the other hand with AP0 will hit the psg first and then move onto the armor. So with a higher damage output with VKs a TKM will still be able to pour out the damage better than a fencer can.

Although fencers have dodge. With master pistoleer you can cap dodge, with dodge capped and with CoB going, you can go a long time without taking a hit. Which can make up for the lower toughness. Top it off with master brawler then you get a KD and a posture down to play with on top of the bonus defence. Yet I'm no real PvPer, just a dueler here and there when I get really bored. So don't take anything I say like it's some holy word lol.

I would have to correct a few errors people have made so far:


1. Kinetic PSGs are NOT in the game. Since the stats shift was fixed, the only ones remain are pre-fix ones that happened to shift right before the update...so basically they are not in the game.


2. Stun does not mean nearly as much in PvP as people think. Something tells me people that keep on repeating this are the same people saying tkm only needs to hit dizzy/kd. Both are untrue, it used to be like this months ago, not anymore. Here is what I have:


215 max damage vk (no pup)

396 max danage stun baton (no pup)


Trust me, I do more damage with the vk unless the opponent does not have stun armor.


3. Again dodge will not be very relevant in this duel.


4. Master fencer has 40 vs dizzy and 50 vs kd. This is not nearly enough to make a difference. TKM has 30 vs posture change down and 50 combat equillibrium. Chances are you will be the first one to go

down, not the TKM.

What would happen with lots of food, buffs. mind buffs, and pvp armor? The duel would last 30 minutes and end once someones armor broke down.


In pvp I use fencer. With all the capped riflemen dodge really keeps me alive. In duels I use tkm. The question of 1 vs 1 is not really relevant. A melee stacker can kill a jedi knight in a duel. Would you rather have a jedi knight or a melee stacker in your group when you pvp? Thats right. Duels are pointless.

What about the Gaderiffi Baton? If a Weaponsmith take the uber Acklay bones they use in Stun Batons and put them into the Gaffi Stick, they could make 500-600+ damage Gaffi sticks. Would this be worth anything in PvP?

For that matter, I havent died from PvP in about 3-4 months... Just having fun....

A skillfull/knowledgable player with the right equipment can beat most with any class..


Fencer has the upper hand as we have regular spawns and drops of Acklay bones, unlike Axkva Min who very rarely dropps good NS Vibro Units (+100dmg)


End of the day this game is down to who has the best equipment.. some beginner with an exceptional Jawa could kill most. Unlike some Verteran with a CDEF

In a straight up duel TKM- VS fencer, with no other profs thrown in, i would say TKA has upper hand. they can hit mind, and dizzy KD in 1 move. Also Powerboost is nothing to laugh at.


In a straight defense stacker, i would say fencer.


I'm currently workin on this template. Pistoleer 0040, Teras Kasi 4034, Master Brawler, Master Fencer, Novice Medic.


I tested this on Test center, and in a duel with a tkm stacker. When he finally managed to land a dizzy and KD (after like 10 mins because with this template i have 85 dizzy resist and 140 defense VS KD!) he pounded on me and i stayed on the ground. He did NO dmg to me whatsoever. My Powerboost, buffs, food, armor, and PSG completely abosrobed his DMG.


He only got that 1 dizzy KD in the whole duel, while i was able to continually posture down-dizzy, or lunge 2. He got up quickly, but i still managed to do dmg.


Basically it comes down to who is better prepared for the fight at hand.

to clarify because you sound a bit confused there hampton. I only wear no armor in friendly duels. When I overt pvp of course I wear armor, full mind and regular buffs, food, drink all that stuff and I'm usually pretty damn protected against almost all pvp attacks. And no I wouldn't say "omg i cant beat u because u have dots, i need a gimp u cant use your best weapon because it pwns me so hard i dont come close to winning" cause people try to dot me all the time when I'm overt and I still whoop their ass. I dont use dots until I get hit first (I have my own dot arsenal) so if someone wants to play the dot game I'll play the dot game. And I dunno what your even talking about with the "who put some thought into thier template". I've trialed many different pvp templates and finally found what works for me. Pistoleer/bh pistols, tka with pistol defense and master brawler, master pikeman defense stacked, fencer/tka with pistoleer 0,0,4,0 and medic skills, I've tried many different templates so dont say I haven't put thought into it. I'm goin with what kills other players in pvp and this works just fine. Havin 4400 health, 4500 action, and 4300 mind along with 3500 focus and 3500 willpower in overt pvp plus a helmet to deal with each type of attack I've seen in pvp that I can switch too soon as I see whatever weapon he's usin I'm usually not too worried about my mind pool draining quickly. Fencer rules!
