Thread: Fencing, is it worth it? Questions. need help
I was just browsing the forum and felt I had to respond. I'm a master TK on wanderhome and recently had the pleasure of dueling a master fencer. Anyway, I was impressed. In our first duel, I was dizzied right off the bat and forced to kneel. The fight was over in thirty seconds....I never got up. Second duel, I was able to win....but only b/c I resisted the forced posture changes. No matter how many times I tried the TK knockdown and lunge 2, the fencer stayed on his feet. Great duels all in all, and I have alot of respect for the fencer profession.
So to answer your question, fencer does in fact have advantages.....specifically for pvp....where the defense v. posture changes and Kd's and your devastating dizzy/lunge moves really shine.

alright, three weapons you need in Fencer.
1. VibroBlade: low Ham cost for stat effect
2. High Damage Gadariffi Baton: dont' worry about the speed, master fencer can handle any weapon faster than 6.6 and with this, you can bleed someone 400+ in PvP (double Bleed of coz')
3. Stun Baton: it is just useful for bypassing all the armor.
The 1h Lunge 2 comes with master brawler. That's what I was saying earlier about not being able to get all of the fencer moves without getting master brawler. But you get Intimidate 2 and Warcry 2 as well so it's very worthwhile to do the little bit of extra work and you get to try out other melee weapons as well. :-)
The edit button comes with every forum but this one.
Greetings,
Rro, you use a Ryyk?
I used one for most of my leveling. But now I got a nice Gadariffi Baton with some nice power ups.
These are my tactics agains any NPC / Mob. I rarely PvP so have little tactics for those.
open with Bleed2, then Bleed1, Intimidate1, Blind1 and no other specials.
I am master doctor with pretty good buffs. I am also a Zabrak with mitigated stats to my mind. I got a Rancor to 60% before I decided to run. I knew I wouldn't win.
I wear no Armour ![]()
I have noticed of late just before I got master that I was starting to become quite an accomplished meat sheild.
Enjoy!
oh, after you get footwork 4, it is pretty easy to grind up master brawler, just use your high damage gadariffi baton to double bleed the mob, then quickly switch to the desire weapon to lvl up, you can probably get master brawler in a day or two.
note: Each greater desert womp rat gives you 2.6K weapon xp

Yanno.... I really abhor having to justify why *anyone* should be a fencer.
Stick with TKA if you have to ask.

Such arrogance sheesh.....
Arrogance?
Why? Because I don't feel it's *anyone's* job to 'convince/spoodfeed/cajole/sway' a person to take up a profession? Or is itbecause I don't feel I have to 'legitimize' my chosen profession?
If you're interested in becoming a Fencer - pick up a sword and TRY it for chrissakes. Then, if you have concerns, come back to the forum and ask some legitimate questions.

I use an advanced 1h curved probably 95 percent of the time. I do haveavibroblade that I will use when I've got 5 or 6 Bolmas hitting me from all sides. I'll switch to that, stack 2 bleeds on them all, and then switch back to the curved to whittle em down.
60% on a Rancor with no armor is not bad at all. Better than I did with no armor but a full suit of 57% resist compositeis a wonderful thing. (I was guessing on the stats yesterday, I checked when I got home, it is 57% and not 49% as previously stated)
Now I try to pull them out one by one, intimidate2, warcry2, lunge 2, if that works, the rancor will take a short nap. Then while he's down, I take my helm offand stack a couple bleeds on him. My ridiculously high willpower regenerates my mind quickly. Then I put my helm back on and beat on him with the curved until he stands back up and I repeat the process. If I piss off 2 of em, I use thesame tactics but I lose a lot more mind and might have to use equilibrium to get it back up there. Gotta be fast with the warcry 2 so they dont bleed me.
The kimo is a different story, they hit with disease so it's more of a run in, warcry 2 till it sticks, double bleed and get the hell out of Dodge kind of thing. Repeat process till dead and watch out for that crazy MOB with 18K ham. He's a friggin commando and a badass melee guy all rolled into one so if his ranged attacks don't get ya, his melee will.
I wanna know why this guy can have 18K Ham andI cant. Why is he so special? That's gonna be my new goal for the evening. To beat that guy down and loot him.
Actually, my frustration is directed not so much at Kro, who actually has tried Fencing, but the multitudes of other individuals (not unique to Fencing forum) who want to be spoonfed. This attitude is far reaching - from AFK combat macroers, to people who sell Faction Points, to people who buy credits and holocrons on Ebay.
God forbid anyone should actually*work* for their goals.
