I wonder if this is the most liked profession. It is very balanced we have only a few major wants, duel weild, swords as a primary weapon and an ap weapon. The devs look at this class and are trying to figure out how to make the rest as balances as the others. And its good to know that im not the only holo grinding fencer that kept it cause it was just to good of a profession.

I was just starting my SWG life, 5 days into swg as a lonely carbineer on rior not knowing MANY people even exsist in this world. Saw a tkm master fighting a overted imp in the reb outpost useing unarmed 3 hit. * mind you this is my first time every seeing a TKM. My mouth droped, i wanted it, i needed it, I HAD to have it. SO afther a month of lving carinbeer * remember this was my first every profession* i starting to lv brawler and BAD i fall onto Fencer, it looked cool useing a sword so i went novice FELL in love with is and never gave up fencer since!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now i am currerntly master tkm/fencer/-0-4-4-4 swordmen novice medic!

I was a master carbineer.... got tired of killing my self. My master CH was/is totaly gimped, and was getting frustrated. I totaly despise tk's (we have like 7 or 10 of them in my guild). Pikeman was borked, and wanted to get out of ranged, have never heard much about fencer, gave it a shot. master Fencer and loving it!

Ilove taking noob ranged or scout peeps out hunting on dath.... had one guy say

noob: dude, where are you (while watching huge dogpile of 7 enranged rancors try and kill something)

Rancors: snarl, growl, miss, snarl, miss, miss

I was pistoleer/cm and I just got tired of the lack of skills and nerf cries so I dropped cm to take up a melee prof, something I've never tried. I didn't want to go tkm since everyone and their dog was a tkm and fencer look better than swordsman because of the defenses. I was shocked to see how well I was doing with fencer having only had pistoleer as a fighting class. Since then I've decided to go all melee, since melee profs are the least broken (well, maybe not pikeman...). Maybe when the combat balance fixes things, if it does, I might decide to pick up a ranged weapon again but for now I'm sticking with melee.

Well,

I became a Fencer because of a holocron, dropped Creature Handler for it (was bummed at the time, not anymore). I have never regretted dropping CH because CH was so nerfed to death that it became more of a collector profession, ie Pokemon. The only day I will ever drop fencer is the day that I become a Jedi. When that day comes, I'll create another Fencer as my 2nd character.

mainly for PvE. i was rifleman CH since game launched. super for PvE, however lately with the corvette, geno labs, various dungeons, pets have become too unwieldly and inpractical. pathing, size, ai, inability to summon them when i need to in battle, and various problems added up made me decide to go fencer for defence instead of relying on my pets.

After about a year and a half as a swordsman in Asheron's Call I was tired of melee, and tired of the fantasy genre. I was really looking forward to trying out some blasters, and I started out with pistols and rifles. Two days after release, I saw a 1-handed sword on the bazaar, possibly out of force of habit I bought it. I've always kept a ranged profession, though. I think my problem is that I don't like kiting, so mixing melee and ranged has always worked for me. My character design has kind of evolved around this.

Picked it up because I thought it meshed well with my being a master smuggler, as well as everyone at the time was a TKM. I swore I would never do melee after I had to grind unarmed for smuggler, but once I picked up the swords and gaffi for fencer, I fell in love with it. Nothing like standing in a crowd of 30 crazed geos, fully buffed and using 1 handed spin attack 2. I'm always the tank when we go there, and I love it. Hell, the other day, we went after 3 canyon krayts and I tanked with a TKM while the ranged people plugged away. Now that's what makes it exciting for me...before, with my other professions, I would've been toast after he just looked at me, now I can stand up to one fairly successfully (but not solo it) and enjoy doing it. Same with nightsister elders. I honestly love fighting the higher end mobs over PvP, and for me, fencer has given me the opportunity to actually fight some of them, and enjoy it.

I originally was a dancer/tailor, but my friends all wanted to do missions together. I had to pick some combat profession and onlyfencer seemed to me to fit.Fencing has a kind of mystique about it, with famous literary fencing heroes like Cyrano de Bergerac.

Back then, doing fencing made you kind of unique as well. Teras Kasi was the only popular melee profession. It was mostly pistoleers, bounty hunters and creature handlers. There were so fewfencers it could takedaysto find someone to train you.

I am trying all the melee profesions while taking a break from CM. Fencer is fun. I like it more than Swordsman atm and we will see how it compares to pikers after I get that.
