I just dont see the stun setting on a blaster the same thing as electricity damage.


I dont see nerfing the stun baton as a smart thing to do.


I dont see realism in this game as a major factor.


I see dead people...wait, nevermind.

Stun damage isnt electrical at all, nothing about stun is. Imagine being hit in the head with a rubber baton, now that'd stun u pretty good. Or perhapsslap your leg-muscle some, youre bound to turn to jelly in no-time. Therefore 'stun' damage.


Perhaps they shouldve called it crushing damage and go with that,prolly a bit too D&D'esque though ^^


man... why'd they call it Fencer is just beyond me... Enforcer anyone?

The Stun Baton is fine as it is now in my opinion. The electrical damage idea as a loot item is a good one, but I don't think we'll ever get something like that Still a good idea.

I think the description in the stun baton says it delivers a charge. Anyway, I was just throwing that idea out there.

I think what is being widely tipped is having a looted "core" to put in the baton to make it do a different type of damage. It would give us one more weapon to play with


From what i've been told TKM are getting something along these lines with Razor Knucklers. They are basically the same as Vibro's but do Heat damage instead...

Which will effectively make TKs a totally overpowered class. The only thing keeping TK in line right now (I do not think it is an overpowered class) is their restriction to kinetic damage.


They can target any stat pool including mind, have amazing defense and an insane damage output at a .75 speed cap and a high damage modifier added to an already great weapon, can self-heal all wounds and DOTs, get up from incapacitation with potentially near-full health bars, KD/dizzy better than anyone in the game and mini-buff themselves to boot.


Kinetic damage restriction was their only downside, and every class in the game should have at least oneweakness. While we're at it, why dont we just give them an AP3 Stun VibroKnuckler?(Before anyone starts flaming me, I have been a master TK for ages and just picked up Fencer).


As Fencers, the Stun Baton is our only viable weapon vs composite armor. We do far less damage than any other melee class (TKs punch harder than us, and we have swords)and our weapons are pathetic in comparison. What is a 150 max, 0AP kinetic weapon compared to a 650 maxAP2 blast weapon? The only weapon we have with armor piercing (light) is the VibroBlade. Ever see the stats on one of these? Theyre a joke. The stats dont even approach a 195+dmg AP1 Vibroknuckler (which is cheap to get), and we have no unarmed damage bonus added to it and the speed is far slower (no .75 speed cap for us).


So please stop crying nerf for the only viable PVP weapon a Fencer has. Without the Stun Baton we'd be gimps that just stood there doing single-digit damage to people in common 80% kinetic composite while they whaled on us with AP weapons with exotic damage types.

stun batons arnt much anymore with psgs and stun composite... really hate SOE for making armor so powerful, ruined the game... Fencer do crap damage, simple as that... stun is our only saving grace in that area, defenses mean nothing against headshot3 and CM poison...

And as for the Stun Baton itself, its far from overpowered. That 800+ dmg Acklay baton that people are posting pictures of in their 'nerf fencer' arguments is a very rare weapon. Whenever someone loots exceptional enhancements and creats such a one in a million weapon nerf cries abound. Just like over the Geonosian Sonic Blaster with similar stats.


You have to realise that most fencers, even ones that can afford Acklay batons, are not running around with anything near that. 99% of them are well below 200 max damage, and with AP0 thats not a lot. Even with a 1% stun layer in composite the damage is reduced by 50%. With 40% stun youre looking at nearly 2/3 damage reduction. Factor in damage mitigation, 48% imperial shield gens you can pick up relatively cheapfor 10-20k each, 44% synthsteak which you can pick up on the bazaar, etc etc and you end up with quite a lot less damage than what people are complaining about.


Yes, some people are running around with Stun Batons with insane stats. Yet the Batons have been around forever and noone complained until now. If you want to cry nerf, cry nerf over the bugged/pre-tweak Acklay Batons. I'd love to see them all removed from the game, but even without dev intervention its only a matter of time until they will be gone. Playersauctioning them/hoarding themin their banks, moving on to other games, lost due to decay or the disappearing item bugs, or simply worn out from use and the new repair changes. Its only a matter of time until the handful of overpowered Acklay Batons are gone.


Please dont lay a blanket ofblame on Stun Batons for this -- the only possible effect it can have is that they get nerfed, and then the FoTM players who picked up fencer because of the Acklay Batons will move on to the next FoTM class, and the rest of us who are here because we like the class will be stuck being gimped to hell and pwnz0red by anyone in 80% kinetic comp (which would be 95% of the server).
