What do SWG's fencers think of changing the stun baton's damage type from stun to electric?

What princple does it operate on then if not electrical damage? I thought that it was supposed to incapacitate a target without doing any major physical damage ( i.e. electric shock).

Because it's not an electric baton.

Interesting question. I would guess that the stun baton delivers a shock at low current that is designed to attack your nervous system (pain, muscle contraction). On the other hand, a lighting cannon is more similar to actual lighting (higher voltage, higher amperage), and causes physical damage and burns to skin and tissue.
Maybe we could get a optional high-current baton core as a loot drop that would make the damage electric.

the same principle that allows you to hold a entire house worth of items, or pull a bike/starship out of your pocket
and really without stun dmg, fencer ends up like a swordsmen with less power/ap, let em keep the stun

I have questions about that as well, but that is for another thread.

I had never even thought of that. Sounds cool

The problem is that, most armor being vulnerable to stun and having high electricity resists, the whole purpose of having another damage type would get useless in PvP, as armor preventsboth kinetic and electricity damage. Needless to say... I love my stun damage.

I love stun damage, technically though a Stun Baton is electrical we have them now. I guess since it's supposed to "stun" an opponant with "electricity" it's counted as Stun. I'd find stun to be more in the lines of a Gad to the head. Symantics yay!
