Thread: Dual Wielding Swords
The smaller blade is called a main gauche (sp) its french for left hand, and was used mainly for parrying, and close quarter fighting when one opponent closed on another.
Two weapon style fighting has also been called florantine. dont know why...
Two weapons would be bomb... it would be nice to choose an offensive OR defensive approach, but fencers seem very defensive, and i think a second weapon should add melee def, and an extra attack at its basic speed, while all specials are done with the main weapon...
why would it be uber?
its just a different form of fighting
fencing in medival times also including the florentine version, (2 weapons)
i think it would be a good idea, it will give the fencer profession an extra flair
2 weapons could be slightly less efficient in hitting, and more efficient in defensive manuevers

Um.. The rapier was not a medieval weapon. It made it's appearance in the mid to late 1600s.

pssst... Awon... actually Fencer is just a crappy descriptive for us.
One handed weapon would be more appropriate. As in a weapon that can be wielded with one hand.
That would clear up a lot of the 'issues' about just what actually constitues a Fencer.

We need to spot identifying ourselves with european Rennisance Fencing.
None of our moves are variants of this style.
None of our weapons could be used in that style.
All of our weapons are Asian or African/Middle eastern...
Vibroblade = Tanto, Curved Sword = Wakasashi, Ryyk Blade = Scimitar mixed withChinese Butterfly sword, Gaderfi Baton = AfricanTribal combat sticks(can't spell the name), Stun Baton = Cattleprod/Baseballbat.
The only thing that is anything remotely resembling Fenceing weaponry (and not even actually Fencing as Flourentine style was a **edit** step child of Fencing.) is the Rantok, but it is not really even because ....
Rantok = Main Gauche + Welsh Broadsword, which is why it is absurdly wide for it's length.
They should really just change the name of both 1 hand and 2 hand swordsman, to somethin like Armsman and Heavy Armsman, because we use more than just swords.
This is unrelated but, Pikemen are retarded for holding their weapons upside down, no wonder they cant hit the ground, they are swinging up.
Iwould consider the ryyk more like a clabbard, but i digress...
I disagree with loosingaccuracy when using a second, weapon, I just think the second weapon should do base damage at its speed with no special possiblity, unless the special uses two weapons (aka. two weapon slash)
DO creature handlersget penelized for using two creatures at the same time...
