Don't ever be afraid to ask a LIVE Entertainment member to join in toplay. And I feel comfortable in speaking up for the FFWB here as well, as we all work and play together... on numerous occasions, both LIVE and FFWB have played with Novice Entertainers, rocking out on SW1. Any time someone wants to come in and play, they are welcome. Both of our guilds know well that it's not the song we play, but the experience we have doing it. And that includes everyone who wants to come out and join in the fun.

I just thought about something, and have not looked to see if the idea has been put out.

Our main concern on removing AFK players is removing buffers, right? Well what if NPC buffers were put into one centralized cantina and medical center (naboo, Corellia, or Tatooine), but if a doc, or dancer/musician entered the rooms these NPCs were in, they disappeared? maybe you can click on them, and tell them to go away for 5 - 10 minutes at the novice doctor, novice dancer/musician levels, or even have tell them to go away and they reappear as soon as you leave the general area.

Also I would love to see a search ability so that you can find an ATK dancer/musician serverwide. I absolutely hate giving my battle fatigue to AFK entertainers. maybe a toggle (like advertisment) so that if an entertainer said they wanted to be found you could go to them, think of it as a billboard for a star.

I hope this helps in someway, I miss talking in cantinas on bloodfin, and would love to be able to step into a cantina again, and not want to leave.

I agree Neeko - although I'm on Bria and Chilastra, I have never seen a single one of my ent friends refuse to play any song for the benefit of an up and coming entertainer. Besides, even SW1 sounds pretty cool with a full band going at it! Roll a character on Bria and come to our next Cantina Crawl and see what I mean!

Sadly, I have. Not very often, but it does happen. More often there will just be a lot of grumbling: "Oh jeez, not SW1 AGAIN!" or "Can we PLEASE play something different?"

Mostly, musicians are welcoming of newer players, but especially during the hologrind there was a perception that the newbies were just grinding towards Jedi. Another example of how the hologrind negatively affected the social professions.

Since June 2004, running one of the game's first completely nonviolent characters. Testing the limits of non-combat MMORPG play and trying to have fun into the bargain (although the developers make it difficult).

Combat is no longer compulsory.

You know what would be a cool change to music? If somehow the /listen command is what set the music the band played instead of every musician playing the same song. This way everyone could play any song they wanted, hear that song being played by all the instruments in their group and anyone choosing to listen to THEM would hear the song chosen by that individual musician coming from the entire group.

Except that the buffbot is only 1% of the spam gurgling automations. Most are jedi grinders, at least the ones I see.

I was told to pass that along and I chose not to because it sounds extreme to me. It's true though I guess, if you aren't having fun, no reason to have an active account until things are improved for us.

Currently, prof revamps are scheduled to be before the GCW, but that could change at any time. I have no idea about dates... because they aren't sure things yet. Order is a little more stable, but that can change too.

I don't rock at the Bake Sale thing myself, but I know that's our only choice for those of us who choose to stick it out. I'd like to make a positive impact on the rest of the player base and preserve our Ent community as much as we can until things are handled... if you can't or don't want to, you shouldn't beat yourself up about it. You can always come back.

1) We do take the unattended macroing issues seriously, and this ability will go away, but we are not going to address it this month. It is a big technicalchange, and takes a serious amount of development and testing. It is being done by a different team than the Combat Upgrade folks so it is not gated by that effort.

2) Yes, the other professions (including all Ents) are scheduled to be revamped right after the Combat Upgrade and before the GCW. This is our stated development strategy. When we start that process we will engage with the community on the design in the In-Development section of the website to ensure what gets done enhances the gameplay and fun within the Ent professions.

3) There is another team doing fixes on all theprofessions not covered in theCombat Upgradein the meantime to address immediate issues, bugsand low (dev) cost enhancements. We will being doing some interim fixes to the Combat Upgrade professions too, as warranted. With over 30 professions they have a lot of ground to cover but Ents willl be getting their share.

4) SWG as a wholeis an entertainment experience which integrates lots of gaming and social elements. It is intended to have an entire series of compelling and fun activities. Not all of these activities are working the way you or we would like them to. I don't think it is healthy or appropriate for people to continually do things that make them frustrated or angry. This seems like common sense to me, but common sense appears less common all the time as I get older. When I'm not having fun at something, but I still love it at some level, I take a break. This seems better than driving myself to an emotional breaking point. I would hope the same for our customers, as I don't like it when people leave us angry. I would rather people took a break, than got to their breaking point with us, because when they get to that point, there is no chance they will ever come back (it is a divorce, not a breakup).

All the devs, myself included, work every day to try and improve the fun within SWG. We all get sad when we see people leave the game because we couldn't fix it fast enough to save them from leaving. We don't want anyone to leave the game, we want them to enjoy the SWG that so much of our effort and emotion is invested in.

I think that unattended macroing doesn't belong in our game and it will be removed. I have committed usto this, and I remain committed to it. When morepeople play AFK than ATK, we haven't done our job very well, and we need to fix that.

Thanks for listening. We haven't forgotten your issues and we will work to ensure the Ent professions provide the social gaming experience you deserve.

So will SMUGGLERS be revampedbefore or after EVERY OTHER PROFESSION? This is a fair question sense we have invested so much of our time and money waiting for this change! I find it funny that some how entertainer, musician, and dancer issues have jumped infront of Smugglers, We have after all been waiting sense last Christmas to be revamped. We were told it was gonna happen soon...... Does this count as soon?

Besides, smugglers get their revamp in the CU - they are, after all, a combat class. I'm not sure how you could see entertainers as being more important when we're getting our upgrade AFTER yours. In order for you to feel as important as us, must our concernsbe totally ignored?

P.S. you've only been waiting since last Christmas for a revamp? We've been waiting since June '03.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but from what I've read, it *sounds* like profs will be revamped in groups? Is that right. So, just because we're 2nd doesn't mean we're the 2nd to be revamped, it just means we're in the 2nd group...I *think*

So, smuggler could be in first or second group for all we know.
