Well I'm doing it because I like it. Dancing with all the ladies is just a perk.

Male dancers are great. It does suck however how most of them are treated. I have noticed though that it seemsthe higher level skill the male dancer is, the less he seems to get ridiculed. The best thing the female dancers can do is dance with the male dancers, everyone is then resorted to wanting to be that male dancer.

Don't give up male dancers, there are plenty of us who love having you around. Also Kris is close to hitting Master Dancer in Moenia/Bria and I just wanted to say thanks to him for sticking it out. He's a great guy and I enjoy dancing with him in the same cantina every nite

You now now that you mention it... I haven't really had much problem lately.. Of course, half the time I get mistaken for a girl anyway so maybe thats why.

Speaking personally, I had my worst series of abusers just a few days ago, and as a master dancer, so no, in my opinion it doesn't really get any easier as you progress.

I'll agree with that... it never gets any better. And you can be in dancing 2 girls-1 guy, doing serious 3 way flirting and still get very insulting messages or just questioning your sexual preference. Always helps that one of those 2 girls is a pistoleer or a bounty hunter...

Having a girl defend my honor. Hehe, kinky. Now get back here and dance with me!

I think the attitude you get from the people in the cantina is totally reflected on how social you are. I don't just sit there and flourish and not say anything. I have conversations, I'll change my clothes, I'll put on some absurd stuff (ever see a blue rodian in a pink tactical skinsuit dancing lyrical? that's a good show!), and am just very comical about it. Sure, i get people who don't like me, I doubt i get "watched" often, but it's fun, and I meet a lot of nice people and get an occasional tip, that's good enough for me. Great time killer and it's fun, i'm not giving it up anytime soon.

Just had the strangest thing happen tonight in a cantina...

Walked into a cantina on Corellia just planning on passing some time. And a bunch of women start yelling out how happy they are that a male dancer showed up. Turns out I walked into the bachelorette party! So I put on my skimp outfit and went and danced for all the ladies. And those ladies could tip. Anyways, ended up staying there all night. Had a blast. Need to get more women married off in this game.

Heres's my thoughts on the subject.

I'm a newly started male dancer, and it's great fun mainely because people really appriciate it (though they never tip, go figure) And I have no problem with dancing for a non-paying audiance, really!!

But what really tics me of is the animations for our moves, why do we have to dance exactly like the female dancer, I'm not homophobic or anything, and the first couple of days it was great fun to see me (Bad ass fencer, macho type) Dance about the dance floor like a new age dancing queen, all I need is a a dress and I would be the drag of all times, and maybe a wig.

So where were I?? Oh yes, the animations, SOE should deffently make more "maleish" Moves for male dancers. Make the animations react to wether or not you'r a male or female, or maybe an option so that we could choose our selves.

One thing is that there one to many animations that are the same for different flourishes, but this is getting of at the cheap end if you ask me (witch you didn't, but I said it anyways

Anyways let me know if I'm totally of beat here, or if I've hit a nerve or thirdly if i'm rambling about something that's been a long time debated

Hope for some healthy responces on this, cause wouldn't it be sweet?

I'd be totally against gender based differences in the same dances. If I want to do dancing with other dancers, I want everyone doing the exact same moves.

To be honest I'd rather get new dance types all around.

Masculine is a better word I think.. Macho has some negative connotations depending on how you look at it.

I won't disagree with the need for dances more appropriate for people of the masculine persuasion though. However for now heres what we have...

footloose: A fairly gender neutral dance, possibly favoring being masculine.. Also, most rated as "dance I will never do again" once they get Dancing IV.
popular: The movements are fairly gender neutral in this one. Some people would advice avoiding flourishes 1 and 3, but IMO it's all situational.
poplock: A dance based after the same style Michael Jackson used in his dancing. Okay, bad example of masculinity there..
lyrical: Very much in the style of ballet. And if you don't think ballet is a men's dance... Check your history books.

The others I still do, in the right situation.. Even exotic.

They are working on more dances.. So theres a good chance there will be something in there.

Ok maybe gender based dances is a bad idea, but that doesn't change the fact that as of now it is gender based, but it's only based on the female. Unless there are some types of dancing I haven't seen yet.

I would just like to see in some shape or form, a possiblityto be able toperform dance styles that are a little more, how shall I put it? "Macho" if we so choose.
