Adding content would attract entertainers to the content, not to the cantinas.
New songs/music? Can perform them anywhere. Theme parks? Quests? If anything that will draw entertainers away from the cantinas. As a master dancer, I can offer my buffs nearly anywhere with the help of houses, camps and the large number of cities. People only come looking in the cantinas.
As long as the only way to be competitive with the service buff-bots offer is to become a buff-bot, nothing else will help. Not if the quests worked like BH missions, a player purchased quest. A payout for entertainers to come where they are needed and perform. New dances (ones that actually went with the songs) new ways to enteract with customers.
There are a lot more ideas than just what the devs have proposed.
And I doubt doing away with buffbots will never happen because the developers know the content is so sparse there isnt enough entertainers to keep people buffed, so why not work out a new system that will make players look for ATK entrtainers instead of using a buffbot?
There are a lot og ideas for what can be done. Trouble is, most of them (Such as the quests to where entertainers are needed) require a lot of development. There are some simple solutions to getting rid of buffbots. So there is a little negative now for the spoiled PvPers, or a lot of negative for the entertainers while something more elaborate is created.

They wouldn't be forced to. Buffs are not a requirement to play.

If entertainers have something to do that is worth doing (Right now, it's just not worth the effort trying to provide a buff service) the will not all leave.

I think perhaps what some of you are missing is that I am asking for the same things you are, just in a different order.
I am also asking everyone to look at ideas that will make a player choose an ATK over an AFK.
But those posts just get ignored, like I said, because everyone is so mad.
Wouldnt you rather have players choose to pay you for your services rather than be forced to?

i think i tried to answer in my last post...
to summarize i really don't think that some new content will help that much for the various reasons...
1) many people left entertainer not because lack of content/fun but cause afkers who destroyed their game (me for example as same for many people i know or post here in the forum)
2) entertainer content atm is not 'fully explored' for many players who simply doesn't care about it, also looking at the forum you see very few requests for contents while on november (i just say a month) the forums where full of requests for songs/instruments/dances/quests...
3) probably buffbots will not disappear, maybe the ones that do it cause they want to help friends will stop, but people who do it for money will not stop and 1 buffbot can ruin a cantina 23/7, as said the only way to compete with a buffbot is to be a buffbot
4) new dances/songs/quests can get old very fast so you will have to continue to put new content every month... for sure it will be nice, but i think is not going to happen, expecially as dances need motion captures (expensive and long to do) and music need good musicians to create musics with a good swg feel, then get the approvation for lucasarts (i suppose) and then divide it for all instruments... again long and expensive.
and again with the rancor....
if i left my home cause a rancor entered in it, you can put in it a big pearl but i will not come back until the rancor is gone ![]()

I'd also like to point out that most the threads started about buffbots are not started by members of the entertainer community, but by outsiders visiting the forums. Entertainers try their hardest, despite the situation, to make it fun.
of course, eventhough dancer was the first and fourth thing I mastered since I started playing swg 2 months after it was released, I am not a member of the community and an "outsider".
Nothing like the wonderful elitist attitude that many entertainers now posses when you walk into a cantina asking if someone is buffing to make me see my posts trying to find peace between both combatants and entertainers in a constructive manner isnt welcome here.
And saying your post was not in referenceto me would bean insult to my intelligence Tiaga. There was no mention of "outsiders" posting before your post.

I am more outsider than you PistolDance... and I dont take offence so why should you?
Entertainers like to talk about how to have fun. The buff-bot issue keeps getting rubbed in their face. So yes, people want to get rid of it.
Now if you want to think I was talking about you and being elitist there is nothing I can do that. Set yourself up as the victim of an elitist attack that doesn't exist, have a ball. You'll just make yourself miserable and I won't care either way.
"The only reason you would think I was attacking you is if you took what I said personally, which you did. All of your arguments have been attached to you personaly. I knew this would happen during our discussion because of thisand was going to comment on it but I thought you would take it as an attack so I avoided it "
lol and now u think u are attacked
