I don't know, that foot metaphor stinks.
Most threads lately have been pretty tame. Calm discussion. The thing is, this isn't a new discussion, there are lots of threads on this.
And this one is directed at you, PD.. I don't mean this to be elitist or anything, but while you may be a member of the entertainer community, your only posts in entertainer forums have been recent and about buff bots. If you have some ideas for the profession, please bring them. However, adding content does not need to relate to buff-bots at all, and this thread is addressing buff bots.

Perhaps if you could look back further when I still played on my first server where my dancer was you would be able to see all my posts.
I have brought ideas and they are ignored, thats the reason I came here to discuss it. Entertainers seem to be so blinded by hate they wont take anything other than "buffbots need to go" as a suggestion. I think my thread here, just came to the same conclusion, My ideas about co-existance (buffbot removal really isnt going to happen guys) were completely ignored.
All problems with professions are inter-linked, so saying that this thread is about buffbots and has no space to add other entertainer problems that go with it is an un-sound way to work through a balance.
If you think ridding the game of buffbots will solve all entertainers problems and that lack of content is not directly linked to there being a shortage of entertainers creating the need for buffbots then I dont think this thread is of any use.
But what do I know, Im just an outsider ![]()
Perhaps you should all take some tips by what the developers are trying to put together. They are, in fact, not finding a way to get rid of bots, but finding a waythat will induce aplayerto chose ATK over AFK. I suppose that means they are outsiders as well.

Just to remind u all what the issue was:
Buffbots are the symptom of the problem, not the problem alone.
Buffbots were generally created by people that could not get entertainer buffs on their combat char.
I dont see a problem with the ability to attain entertainer buffs from an AFK person, as many times, it is impossible or too time consumingto find an ATK entertainer.
This uproar over buffbots isnt logical to me for two reasons:
1. They wouldnt be there if there were more entertainers on the server.
2. Solving a symptom of a problem does not solve the problem.
Why not focus on making the entertainer professions more enjoyable so there will be more entertainers there to buff instead of trying to stop people from playing the game the way they wish to?
I would just rather see the main problem so fervidly attacked, rather thanworking on the problems that arose because of it.

Well actually Vortex, through some very good discussions I have changed my view on a lot of things in my original post.
That is, afterall, what discussion is for ![]()

I can see that what your saying is add content and then people will start playing again. And then once we get enough of them we can stop the buff bots. The problem with that honestly is that it won't work. As what we are all saying is Stop the afk/bots and people will start playing again. Then Add more content and we will then have a thriving chunk of the community.
There has been no indication that the developers are even considering stopping bots from buffing from what ive seen. Which is why I also suggest with the new content to add an incentive for players to choose ATK over AFK.
I mentioned before in this thread an idea ive had for a while about a large bonus to mind buffs being given through a radial menu on a single person or the group leader.
Pure radial menu's cannot be macro'd, they cannot be afk'd. And considering the state of combat professions there is only one kind of player that would not go that extra bit to find an ATK for the extra buff, that is the grinder.
Those will be weeded out soon
