Thread: To all the guys complaining about guys playing females

[mockery ensues]

I don't like it when real life humans play Rodians in SWG. I want to meet real Rodians in this game. Will humans please play humans and Rodians play Rodians, etc?

Also, I'm trying to pick up on Jabba's rancor, any tips?

[thus endeth the mocking]

I've got no problem with guys playing chicks in games. They all do it for various reasons. Hell, the 'skinny human' model has been reminding me way too much of my ex-gf; me and a guy playing, using that model, talkedback and forth about chicks in general.

Sure, it's possible to 'meet real people' in games. Just make sure you take every well endowed bosom with a grain of salt. Simply assume that everyone you encounter online is a regular guy, regardless of character choice, and you should be good to go.

In short, as they say on the MUD I play, "There are no female mudders."

"But, this proves something that I've suspected for quite some time.....that ALOT (notice I did not say ALL or MOST) liberals / democrats are misinformed about alot of different issues...."

This is absolutely right, except for one addition ~ Republicans are no better, just as misinformed about a lot of different issues. Your just a silly head if you think one side is all enlightened and the other side is full of ignorant ill-informed people and nothing more.

On to the issue of males playing females. I have no sympathy for other people who are angry about this ~ it should not matter to them one bit, and it's none of their business. I do however feel frustrated by men who make women characters, only to play them in incredibly juvenille ways. But there's nothing I can do about that.

I play a female character and a male character, and I am a male. I actually like my female character better. I play that character for many reasons. One because its fun to be different, and it is a game. Another becuase quite frankly I don't identify with "type A" males in real life anyway, and happily exhibit a lot of feminine personality traits over "masculine" ones. To be quite honest in many ways playing a female character feels a more appropriate representative of important things about me than playing some male charcter does. If someone mistakenly trys to whack their 14 year old junk to my avatar, then that sounds like a prsonal problem to me.

And to the poster who said he wasn't trying to pick up on women but just had a problem with men playing women because he was trying to keep up the "realizm" -- how many wookiee out there are playing wookies? How many real life Zabrak's are in the house? Can I get a shout out from all your real life Bothans? Oh wait, this is a game, not reality.

JediMutantX3, at the risk of being insensitive myself, I am going to leave you with a quote that someone told me once:

Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics ~ even if you win you're still retarded.

Not all, just most. And of the remaining part, I'd say there were more who were indifferent to them then who cared for their rights. You'd have a stronger arguement if there wasn't legislation in the works to deny homosexuals fundamental American rights. Of course, the legislation was started by a Republican. In America, you can be terminated (from your job) for being a homosexual. Pres. Clinton (Democrat) made that illegal to do in the White House.

So, historically Republicans tend to not embrace the struggle of the homosexual (male and female) and democrats do.

I'm not even going to point out the ignorance of that statement.

Debtaing online is amazingly valuable. Online forums allow us to communicate ideas in a way that has been valued ever sicne the first person scrawled "Ezikiel was here" on the pyramids. Onlne forums are the free press of the 21st century.

It depends on the forum. There is a difference between a forum dedicated to a particular topic and the Yahoo! forums where every topic degrades into "I HATE BLACKS!", "IT'S THE JEWS FAULT!", "GO BACK TO RUSSIA YOU COMMIE!" (ignoring the fact that Russia isn't even Communist anymore).

True argumentation is rare on the Internet as people tend to spout off their "feelings" and "beliefs" as fact and defend those with a blind-faith vehemence without regards to avoiding fallacies of logic.

Anyhow, getting back to the pre-hijacked thread... In my opinion, it's pretty rude to ask out of character questions to someone you've just met in an online role-playing game anyhow. If you ask, "where are you from?" and they answer "Corellia", don't follow that up with "no, I meant in real life". Chances are the person isn't a moron and knew that but chose not to answer that question.

Finally, once again, I realized my belief is NOT a popular one here, so I guess the smart thing for me to do is let it go!

Probably the best thing for you to do is to let it go.

Probably the best thing is for you to let it drop.

Well I did"let it go", by "let it go" I was referring to the topic "guy playing females", but never said I let go of personal bashing that make no sense... but well, I WILL let it go, if everyone else drop it as well.

Better yet, Mods, lock this thread (as well as the other one I started) then we let it go both sides. Then, whoever restart a NEW thread on this topic is the problem...

The Twi'lek I rp is a Female but she is attracted to the same sex. Sure I treat the guys fairly but I pay more attention to the girls. But that doesn't mean I hit on the fellow dancers and musicians constantly. A wink and nudge is enough to get my point across. Most people already know because if told them when I was grouped. Its not that big of a deal.

Jedi, I don't think you're getting the point of my subtle single entendre here. You know how message boards work, If you keep jumping in with the last word to say "it's done I got the last word" then the thread just goes to the top in front of everyone's face when they refresh.

By let it drop I was no refering to the issue, I was refering to the thread, let it drop down and off the first page. Then no one will see it, think of it, and the devs won't have to come lock it for you.

You knew all that tho.

This topic always confused me.

Do these people have a problem with a human playing a wookie?

What about a male playing a female wookie, is that just as bad?

Why would you attempt to talk to the player of a toon? The idea is your toon is interacting with their toon, the player behind the toon is irrelevent.
