Thread: Unacceptable behavior and the future of entertainers.
What we need is a dancer/teras kasi artist to put the smack down on the offenders every once in a while. That'll clean up the cantinas.
Seriously though, I recently started an alternate character. I never strip down to my undies and I ignore virtually all lewd suggestions. My character will wave, wink, blow kisses, smile, and use other tasteful means of showing appreciation. Interaction with the customers is a must. It goes a long way. Acknowledging the troublemakers only encourages them. If you really want to show them, lavish attention on the good guests. That'll eat them up.
As a Wookiee entertainer, I have never gotten a request to strip.
Waitaminute...doh.
Well it repeat what already been said, but ignore them and with time they may find boring to be alone...
Anyway if you on Kauri, move to Mos Eisley Cantina, we got nice people for 99.99% of time ( nothing can be perfect, remove that idea of your mind
) and quite good groups ranging from 10 to 20 depending on times...
Hi all - just a quick question is anyone having trouble with slapping and stuff, getting right up on top of you and pestering you? The other day I had a problem with about 5 ppl, doing it all at once and finally had to stop and say BACK OFF. I then left the cantina and took a short break.
What was weird is that some of them were regulars who had been no problems at all in the past. And they've been no problem since then. I'm not talking about the ppl experiementing with the emotes - that happens all the time but when they do it they are across the room and apologize when they realize what they've done by mistake.
Ohhh well - problem solved soon with our own cantina - then we can banish them from the building until they apologize. Just wondered if anyone else was having these kinds of problems and how you are handling them.
I've seen the customers get a little too frisky. Fortunately, there is usually someone around that has the skills to stick up for the entertainers, and that usually helps.
Last night, I did see a dancer and a customer that I really though should get a room. Occassionally, their tells to each other would become spatial comments by mistake. Couldn't believe it.
Ok I have to add to this because... well because I just like to talk a lot... lol
I created an entertainer. Of course, I wanted it to be a good one so I made a tall redhead human with beautiful eyes. In my first 2 hours playing, I got Ent Healing II and Dance II. and enough money to upgrade my clothes from those horrid desert crawlers. (looks like yer wearing a brown diaper, ewwww) It seemed I was drawing a LOT of attention and all I wanted t do was dance and get exp. I was welcomed into the entertainers' group and they were all extremely cool.
Without fail, along comes a guy that walks straight over to me and proceeds to adjust his character to view me from all of the up close angles he can get. Then he stands right in front of me and says "Nice @#$%, <my_name>". I guess the profanity filter did its job. I simply said, "Don't be a pig, Tut". (yes, part of his real name) and he left the cantina. No big deal. There were a couple guys in there that suggested a lap dance and no one responded, so they didn't push it.
I didn't dance naked, but I did dress rather hot, because that's what makes the money. I got tips, and heals from one special warrior who meant business and was not there to dangle his tongue and hope to get lucky with a guy playing a hot girl character, lol. I even met the designer that made my shorts I bought on the bazaar. She made my entire outfit, so if you see something made by D'Arcy, it's quality. Enough rambling.
"Nonsense! I've watched TV my whole life and I turned out TV"
Wokka-Wokka
this is exactly the oppsit of how i work, I tip insane amounts to people who i am friendly with Caelera is one example, Shes never offered my character Any thing but freind ship and i am more then happy to tip her 3k or what ever i have on me when i see her, i even tell her from time to tiem to make sure she has the money she needs to train, As for undies, I prefer people that are well dressed cause the undies thing well just strikes me as to umm lame. If you want good tips get know people it don't matter if your a guy or a gal if your a nice fellow and i enjoy your show and or conversation your going to get a good tip.
I'm sure I'll experience some of the rude behavior at some point, but I've only been playing for one day and so far I haven't. I, too, have a male Twi'lek entertainer, who is mainly a dancer. And, during my first night dancing in Naboo, I made over 500 credits in tips, and had a really good time doing so. The females that came into the cantina almost watched me exclusively and tipped very well. Even some of the malepatrons tipped well. And, I didn't get one disparaging remark.
I had actually read some of these message boards to get a feel for the game before I purchased it. And, I had been under the impression that life as an entertainer was difficult, and sometimes prone with harassment. But, during my first experience, I found a great group of musicians and dancers, and clientele who were extremely pleasant and fun to be around. There was a female dancer who danced in her undies, but I didn't really care too much. To each his/her own. I don't know what she got in tips compared to what I got, but if that's what she wanted to do I have no problem with it. Maybe I just got lucky during my first outing as a dancer, but I thought I'd mention it just to let people know that it's not all bad out there.
