In addition to reporting them, you can also type /ignore *playername*. Problem solved (and don't forget to report them).

You have to put up with idiots, sometimes, but at least you've got a few weapons.

I would have loved to but unfortunately I don't know how to report people...can you tell me how? I know in EQ it was /report (the last 10 lines of text have been reported)

Hey Intro, don't loose hope man. If you finda good band/troupe to play with and get out of those starter towns things usually improve a lot. Just having a good band to support you makes a lot of difference. If you can't seem to find one over there your welcome to join us on Corbantis. Just look for Etho, Emmett, Feewan, Tatharo, Serenity or Nyaa-Y'Dal. Theres more that hang out with us but thats the most core and friendly group. They're mostly hanging out in the Theed Cantina right now but we'll be leaving there soon to find somewhere to put on more serious shows.

A good group makes all the difference, we always try to support each other and nobody bugs one without the rest jumping in.

Bendial, I understand your frustration... two things to keep in mind:

1. The people who get their kicks by being rude to others are going to completely ruin their reputation (with their one character) and then they will be done, unless they reroll.

2. The people with x-rated or pop singer names are most likely novelty characters and they will either get retired or deleted once the novelty wears off. They won't be making it to the higher skill levels in the entertainment professions.

If you seriously want to be a musician or a dancer, go for it... don't let the kids get you down.

On the rude people: If they're doing something worth calling CS about, do so. Otherwise, /addignore <name>. With no unconsenting PvP actions, griefers turn to things like this to get their jollies. If you let them know they're getting to you, they'll keep after it ten times as long.

On the inappropriate entertainer names: See griefer comments above. They're either doing this to piss off the rest of the entertainers, or they genuinely think it's funny. Report the unacceptible name, and /addignore as needed. Yes, there will be a few customers that cater to someone named "Premenstral Tension," but that's life.

On tipping: I certainly hope you didn't become an entertainer thinking you would make alot of money. Personally, I don't worry about tips. When it comes time to train or buy a new instrument, if I don't have enough cash I can always run some delivery missions to get it. Besides, that gives me the opportunity to play outside the shuttlestation for a few minutes.

On inappropriate entertainer activity: This is the grey area. Just like real life, there are different things that people see as fun. Some folks go to the ballet to see dancers, othersgo down to Slippery Pete's. In these situations, if the entertainer involved is encouraging the undesired (from your view) behavior, you'll have to decide if you want to put up with it or not.

A lot of people are talking about the female dancers that willingly remove various clothing items and offer up lap dances. I had the misfortune of seeing this the other day. Oh well. Hey, share your tips, that's all I ask.

Some other pointy headed 12 year old came running in with his capslock key flaring, bellering that he would gladly tip all female dancers, but only if they removed their tops. They did. Money is, apparently, money.

However, I'm heartened by a story a friend of mine told me, which leads me to my point. The story is, briefly, that some kids-in-character were harassing my friend and his Wookiee buddy. The Wook in question turned to them and asked them if they'd like to make something of it.

They fled. The Wook didn't even offer the duel. They just bolted.

So, really, in the end, if you'd like to save your female dancer friends the trouble of harassment, do what dance clubs do in real life. Hire the biggest, scarriest looking bouncer(s) you can find. Hey, it's even in character.

Great posts - thanx for the idea on reporting them - when I saw the entertainer with the xrated name it was very late and I was very tired so I didn't even think about reporting them. I'll remember from now on - can't report them now because I can't remember all the special characters and spacing they used to get past the filter. Not that I mind all the names - to each their own - but this name described an xxx act in great detail.

Great idea on wookies as bouncers - I play with a ton of dancing wookies - we all have a ball and fortunately my crowd just loves them. We have probably 10 of them now (not all dancing at once they are all multi professional) of all sizes and shapes - can you just picture someone giving my group grief? Actually we have had very little grief - We have lots of male/female dancers (most with their clothes on) and have a clean time - no problems with male dancers though that's probably because I've convinced most of my regulars to get novice ent skill and join in when they come - they were all trying to dance on the side line because it looked like fun - now they are getting major dancing xp while healing their bat fat at the same time We willingly group everyone in - now I even have them buying my instruments and playing with us

Use your Holocron, hit "Customer Service", then "New Ticket", and then write them up for a Community violation.

Welllll.... verrry difficult case here.

As we all know, in an universe of smugglers pirates and stuff like that, rude language, nasty comments and even some kind of prostitution is a huge part of the everyday life.

A cantina is a spot where people hanging out to have fun. Go into a real live "cantina" at your local harbour or redlight district - and you will be confronted with such stuff.

Now what SOE can do is using forced filter mechanisms or ban all the people getting nasty in the game to keep the cantinas "clean". Well, I am not sure if I want that...

About male dancing animations: I dance myself, and the animations look awesome. But honesly, the dancing moves looking REALLY pretty gay (no offense, ofc).

something to remember is that a lot of the 'stippers' are roleplaying. Not all of them but some.

I dont take my clothes off but Im very baudy...make innuendos and such. I do this because IRL Im a nice girl, its fun to be bad. And most bars in the world are filled with this type of girl

I do not like it however when the girls dance in their ugly undies. Just looks gross. But who am I to judge?

"Also, forgot to mention, the problem with entertainers is hallf of those people are WILLING to give a private dance of a lapdance or cyber sex or whatever. It's just totally not necessary. The female dancing naked always gets the tips, whilst the rest of us get screwed."
Well that does sort of reflect reality doesn't it?

Hi all I'm a member of The Topless Entertainers. Personnally I started dancing in uddies because my brother wanted to see what the chars wore under their clothes stuck to the undies because in my opinion they looked better then the entertainer starting clothes but now that Im well on the way to being a Tailor also most of now dance in shorts but as I get higher in the tailoring we will be doing more elaborate costumes. We don't usually have a problem with rude and obnoxious people. We do get one every now and again but /addignore works just fine for them. We enjoy our patrons, we love to talk to them and perform for them. They are a great group of people.

Underwear dancers do not make more in tips than those of us in clothes. Tips come when you are friendly and chat with the customers, not when you stand there in your skivvies dancing. I have had people give me huge tips when I am the only one with clothes on and publicly state that they won't tip underwear dancers.

Its a nice myth but its just not true. And within a week or two, the clothing coming out will be far more revealing than the underwear and much classier. Those underwear dancers won't be able to compete with the folks who save their credits to buy nice clothing.

Same is true about lap dances, etc. I honestly don't want the tips of people who want me lap dance for them. I have been offered 20k for such a thing, and I turned them down. I don't need the credits bad enough to throw away my integrity and reputation. So I don't worry about what those others do.

As for harassing the male dancer, report the guy! Calling you names and continuing even after you express your displeasure vocally is harassment. The guys should be reported. What he said and did was no different than harassing the female dancers.
