Thread: Deny Services Poll
Flip me. I am not against Denial.
I want a tool to enforce harassers. I do not want a tool to deny someone for not tipping.
no, no, and no again....
in real life, if you went to a bar, the ones you wanted to deny, you could not, if you didnt play, the ones who are worthy would get mad, and not tip, and the ones who are bad mixed in the good just get a free listen, cause we are working ain a open public area...they obviously have ears and could hear me play...
all this would do is make someone like me solo and not deny anyone...ad if I am playing a nag, then so be it, i can put myself wherever I want, and if you deny them and I dont, then they will make faces at you will listening to me...deny me the cantina and I will play the hotel, folks will come where the customers are pleased, even the mean ones will pay sometimes..
had a guy with my doctor run around talking trash while I ws playing in the cantina to up my skills and refresh my mind due to the med center being empty. after harassing the folks entertaining ( and that means just acting childish sorta, he ran by me and did a /duel, well i dont fight, i know some TKA's who are enetertainers as well, but not me...so I asked him why he wanted to duel? that I thought it rude and guess I should just ignore him, shame coming from a practicing doctor. do that too many times and life on the battlefield can be tough... he apologized and then tipped us, and went on his way...
was that refusal of service? yes and no, for the doctor yes, if I dont hear him ask and discuss his healing needs, he doesnt get any, as an entertainer he could get it anyway just by listening, as long as I am in a public place and he is near...should I care? no, I would have ignored him....
sorta like another example, a dancer, after a guy talking trash, meaning ugliness suggested ennuendos, he went on and on, the dancer would wave and smile at him etc, but when he finally started getting really hungry for her toon, I told him that she had ignored him 10 minutes prior and I was about to do the same, he said aww man, and he left feeling disturbed, and the dancer just kept on dancing...a definate blow to the mans ego..
denial of service should only be done in a non-public place, player owned, or house or pa hall, but not the city or campsites(if they ever fix that). if I have to sideline for extra, then fine...my wife is an image designer(master) she provides great customer service...and they have a war on there hands with their pricing according to their forum, but my wife steadfastly dissapproves of regulated pricing and works for tips alone, she made over 100k this last weekend, some tipped good, some tipped poorly, a couple didnt tip at all..such is life, her services are sought out galaxy wide now... word of mouth and customer service, will get you there every time..
just me,
p.s. no to denial of service, and if I cant group to do this then so be it..
No.
I hate to wade into this discussion, but... I fear it will give us too much power over the other classes, many of whom do not appreciate the need for entertainers to heal their BF in the first place. It will become too easy to use, and it will lead to cries of griefing against us. There needs to be an effective way to deal with hostile or harassingpatrons, but I don't think this is the right solution. There is simply too much potential for abuse.
Sorry if I am repeating any suggestion:
How about a way to "target" your BF healing onto a person at a higher rate? Say, those just sitting there enjoying a free show get a slow rate (maybe 1 per 15 seconds), whereas if you dance or play for a "target", you heal them at 4 or more times that rate, depending on your Entertainment Healing level?

So wait...if the other classes don't appreciate you now, the best way to change that is to remain as powerless as you are now? Anyone who doesn't respect your profession now will NEVER do so, unless they are forced to live without what you have to offer them. If you can cut them off for a while, and they see what high battle fatigue will do to you (believe me, it sucks), I can guarantee you'll find a much more friendly audience.

Many players often make me feel extremely appreciated.
