Thread: It's time for a question again..

On the musician forum, someone suggested that since the developers ignore our questions and requests anyway, why not ask a question that shows them that we're getting tired of being fobbed off with avoidance anddelay after delay. The question they suggested that their correspondent askwas "What planet is the city of Theed, Naboo located on?"
It's kinda like the "who's buried in Grant's tomb" question. It's just meant as a protest. So I'm gonna change my vote.I vote for asking "What planet is the city of Theed, Naboo located on?". It's about time these AFK developers got back to their keyboard and started working for us. Maybe this will give them a hint that we're sick to deathof this delay after delaycrap.
Well, we can't exactly ask that if the musicians are. I'm thinking the question here should be "What planet is Coronet, Corellia located on?"
You know, make sure the questions are different ![]()

Is that before or after the JTL??

I almost went for the Coronet question until I saw the badge thread. This question should be considered:
Does TH orthe Dev team consider it appropriate to award a 'tribute to the profession' badge to a NPC? (by definition since an afk buffbot is not actively controlled by a player they are computer controlled)
If Yes, what is the timetable to remove the professions and place dev controlled buffbots? Also, will we get to redistribute all of our skill points (the ones that we spend more of than a Master Rifleman) just as the Jedi get to redistribute their skill points?
If No, will the team please confirm the CSR team have been given revised instructions on the distribution of badges?
Of course the "If No..." could be made also refer to removing such badges, but I don't want to give the devs extra work which will not bring us benefit. I placed the "If yes..." answer as it is the only logical extension of the answer I can see.
(Oh and only one of the performer professions need ask this, the others can ask which planetTheed, Naboois on)

I'm the one who came up with the whole "what planet is Theed, Naboo on?" question.
I VOTE FOR THIS IDEA BELOW, THOUGH - THAT PERSON SHOULD NOT GET A BADGE, AND WE DESERVE AN EXPLANATION FOR THIS.

I don't particularly care that some loser is going around with a badge he didn't earn. Let the baby have his toy.

Well the problem is, there's little chance that thedeveloper gave this idiot his badge because of AFK play. Probably the guy was acting in a creditable way when he got the badge. This was my first thought as well, but then I did a little more research and looked into it some, and it appears that the badgewasindeed given to an AFK buffbot while it was bufbotting away. Even if the dev wasjust feeling generous andgave it away to the first idiot who walked in the door, it's not like the developers will see this as anything more than a storm in a teacup. If we ask this question, the developers will not see it as some here see it. I guarantee you they won't stop laughing for a week. We see who they givea rare giftto and weare appalled.I agree with you here...it is a small thing, but hey, we've been giving in and giving in and giving in on the "small" things, andwe've trained them to realize that there is no backlash from us ever, for anything. We do need to start caring about the small things too. They only see that these gifts are 10 a penny - they can give these things away anytime -, and they willthink it's a petty matter. Not only that, but even if they do take any notice, they will not take a badge away once it has been given.Unfortunatelyyou're right, this bot has that badge forever. That is tantamount to saying to the badge owner"I set you up, and now I'vef#$%ed you over, now please complain to my boss about me". Actually the Devs and others at SOE have no problem with telling people that, what do you think they've been telling us or the past year?
There is no advantage to be had in asking this question. They won't care, they won't do anything about it, we don't get our real ongoingissues raised, and we don't even get to do a protest. It's still a protest. Personally, I'd like to see the question asked. We already know the answer to any substantial questions we could ask: no, entertainers are overpowered we're not giving you that; no, we don't want to think about that until after JTL; some things will be changed in or after the Combat Balance; thanks for playing Star Wars Galaxies, please send in your next $15.
If you're going to ask a question, ask one that will have some effect. As Sun Tzu would say: don't fight a battle that can't be won. Just because you can't win a battle doesn't mean that you were defeated, you could pull off a tactical retreat or you could reach a stalemate. Entertainers can't afford to do much more losing in the bigger scheme of things, we need a few battles to go our way if we're to win the war.
I've never seen the morale lower on these boards. Even some of the most dedicated entertainers have declared their intentions to leave the game entirely, and others are seriously considering it. Perhaps this desperation is justified if SOE is really trying to cut the socialization out of the social professions. The only way they can prove to me that they aren't trying to actively destroy our community is if they do a few things. (heck, this could be multiple choice for them--pick three or more things off of this list.)
- Issue a formal apology
- Revoke the badge
- Publicly denonce the actions of the CSR
- Fire the CSR
- Make an immediate move to get rid of AFK macrotaining/buffbotting altogether
- Offer a month's free subscription to all confirmed live entertainers (okay, this is just wishful thinking...)
- Institute a system where a repeating macro automatically causes a TEF (again, wishful thinking)
- Systematically ban everyone who abuses the macro system including the recipiant of this badge
- Begin to circulate amongst live entertainers and be more "loose" with giving these badges (If a macrotainer got it, chances are they're not worth too much anyway, you may as well give them to everyone you see.)
Like I said, any combination of three (or more)of these suggestions would work toward restoring what little trust I retain in the SOE representatives.
