Ihad the displeasure of running into one of the infamous11 year old prepubescent jerk offs last night ina Cantina on Correlia. The band was playing a song I didn't know, so I took the opportunity to practice my dancing. I am a male Twi'Lek entertainer. The 11 year old felt it necessary to make comments that "I dance gayly" and "I am a homosexual", and he felt it necessary to laugh at me and harass me in game. I told him to stop it, or I'd report him for player harassment and sexual harassment, and he said "Typical homo, always running for help."

What the hell is wrong with people in this game? We are busting our ASSES to provide them a service, and they spit in our face! Shortly after that I decided to go to another planet since it seemed to me like Correlia was a cess pool of immature brats. I was 200 credits short of a ticket to another planet. I stood outside playing my Fizzz asking if people can help me out for my air-fare. Most people laughed and walked away, some people said "take your clothes off and dance". I gave up and logged shortly thereafter.

Another thing I am sick of is players making stupid female naked dancers called "Striptease" or "Britney Spears". Crap like this has totally RUINED the entertainer profession to where it's now a joke.

I can't take it anymore. I haven't been an entertainer longer than 24 hours and already I'm considering retiring my character. Oh, did I mention, after 4 hours of playing, I made 50 credits in tips!! WOOHOOO!!!!

Sorry man, unfortunately Junior just needs access to mom's and dad's credit card number to get his free 30 days. But then again, half the times it's full grown "immature adults". I play a female Twi'lek dancer and get numerous demandsfor me to "get naked" or give a "private lapdance". You just can't let it get to you. Shrug it off and act like one of those dancers IRL. "Go home, little boy.... Mommy's calling you."

You gotta remember.

EVERYONE needs EVERYONE in this game. So if he's harassing you now, suck it up... you may at one point be the only one around when he needs to heal that battle fatigue or those mindwounds. The you can rub it in his face all you want and listen to him moan and groan about how he "hates" the game now and blah blah blah...

Basically, keep your chin up and keep on going. As for the tips, if they're going slow, run about 2 or 3 local low-paying delivery missions and thendo a gig mission or two. I put a FAQ here earlier about Gigs.. and it's still on the first page so people must like it..

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately I don't have the ability to just shrug things off. I like seeing justice ;-), but alas it's just a video game so I will have to learn over time.

Also, forgot to mention, the problem with entertainers is hallf of those people are WILLING to give a private dance of a lapdance or cyber sex or whatever. It's just totally not necessary. Thefemale dancing naked always gets the tips, whilst the rest of us get screwed.

I understand how you feel, though I'm mainly a musician myself I'm trying to achieve Master Entertainer and have to dance to slowly work my way up that daunting ladder. I've not personally been harassed, but for the past few days I've been on a rather low population planet on my server where things have been good to me, really, but the entertainer healing xp is slow as the cantina's can be destitute at times so me and my partner have moved to Tatooine. The attitudes on these more populous and larger planets is a drastic difference to what I'm used to.

You could always try dueling the individuals harassing you, not that they'd accept as their kind rarely does. I'd attempt to do the same but I've drained all my points out of my Health bar and someone could so much as look at me wrong or throw a wet rag at me and I'd be incapacitated. I don't know how the female dancers can take some of the abuse they get. I usually say something if someone's being overly uncouth or perverse but if the dancer in question encourages the behavior or invites the personal dances and such there's not much you can do. As someone said, you just gotta suck it up and try to ignore them.

This will get better with PA and player created cantinas and the like where individuals can be booted from a home, so I hear, so that unruly types can be shown the door and not be allowed to come back in. But the public cantinas are home to the cordial and the lascivious, as entertainers we either need to toughen up to it or perhaps find a new profession. Hopefully people don't go into medical centers and demand their doctors and medics take it all off...

This kinda crap is why I miss the outcasting system the Devs were going to implement before they chickened out. Some guy makes some homophobic comment? Heh, just have you and your band whip out your carbines and tear through him like a hot knife through butter. Sure, there would be some consequences for those actions but at least that **edit** wouldnt be coming into your bar shooting off his **edit** mouth.

Frankly, to butcher a quote from Star Wars, you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than any public place in a MMOG. It is human nature without boundaries or inhibitions. So you do get people who, now that they have no fear of getting the stuffing beat out of them, say every little stupid, bigoted, annoying thing on their mind.

You know what I do in situations where someone IG calls me gay? It happens a lot because I wear a pink overcoat sorta thing. What really freaks 'em out is when you /kiss 'em and say "You betcha, big boy. My place later?" /wink. Turn the insult around and they generally shut up fast.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of immature "strippers" and "prosititues" in the game, but not everyone is like that. Personally, I play as an attractive female human entertainer... but I keep my clothes ON. I chat with the customers...act friendly...give them a shoulder to lean on and an ear to talk to. It works great. I have dozens of regular customers. Many people even travel from distant star-systems to watch me play the fizzz or bust a groove! Also, I make pretty darn good tips. I've made as much as 5000 credits in an hour.

I think what's important for people to realize is that you don't HAVE to play with the losers. Try to find people you have something in common with. In the end, there are jerks and cool people in EVERY profession.

Personally, I'd like to see SOE start an "over 21" server, where only mature people can play. We'll see if that ever happens!

There's a group that visits the Mos Epsa cantina that are actively disruptive and abusive to players there. Calling the dancerswhores and b****es, being dorragatory to any wookies, not to mention spewing cuss words. The most I can do is report them to CS (which I have).

Personally, I find that more appalling than the dancers that are scantily dressed. If you have a problem with someone that you can't resolve in a nice gesture, then get over it and let the rest of us play in a comfortable atmosphere. At least being scantily dressed IS Star Warsy, especially in Tatooine (tho that's no excuse to rip all your clothes off, btw).

The other day I saw amale dancer wearing hotpants. It was somewhat disturbing to me, but I got over it pretty quick and made a joking comment to the guy that he outta get a shirt thatmatched the color of his hotpants. He laughed and then put on some clothes almost immediately after.

Not really too hard to make comfortable suggestions if something bothers you. Cussing and being abusive is the coward's way, in my opinion.
