Thread: I guess the worst they can do is ban me

Well, you know that Sony is hurting for subscribers when they start giving away free time within 6 months of release. If that doesn't tell you the churn rate, after 300k units sold, I am not sure what does.

I came back during this 14 free day trial to basically pay off my house for another 6 months, visit the POI's, and log out. Heh. After 2 months of being gone, I blew through the new content that would have been paid for by $30.00 in subscription fees in 6 hours.

As I come back and read this thread, I am reminded why I cancelled. The ineptitude of Sony, the lies, the propaganda, the spinning of the truth, and the overall carrot of promises that is dangled over the heads of a heavily declining player population as they take that money and put it to an expansion you will have to pay forthree times over. While this business model works in EQ because of time invested, you cannot get away with it in a game such as this. It's time to have a talk with a coupleof the producers behind the scenes.

I find it hilarious that Sony thinks that people will continue to pay for empty promises and delusions of paper promised content changes which fluctuate like a fart in the wind, based on what Koster wants after he drops off his kids that day-- not what anyone in this community has glaringly stated time and time again.

Thunderheart states that the game will be incredibly fun by the end of summer? Then help them speed along that process by cutting off the money that lets them be complacent. Because as long as you pay, the more they will jack you around. So yourself and the genre a favor by cancelling every account. Reactivate when this game might be fun again in September -- until then, quit paying for this trash.

"Thunderheart states that the game will be incredibly fun by the end of summer?"

Indeed, that is one of the most naive and unprepared statements from a software company that I have ever seen. Trying to reconcile your customers to current and ongoing problems by claiming "things will be better someday" is almost fraudulent. It is misleading, because there is no indication of what will be improved and fixed and by when.

And for anyone thinking I'm just another flamer, I spent some effort genuinely trying to persuade some people to come back to this service: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Kettemoor&message.id=91665

I dont diagree Norax. Still, Im always going to push the envelope on both sides. I push the devs as hard as I push the community - - its why I was chosen. Believe me, I've taken a beating today, but in the end, the issue is being looked at by the whole dev team, the community and everyone is involved. I have been the catharsis and thats what its all about; stiff discussion and debate is good for the community and the game.

I believe, as a fan who has been around since day one, that by the end of the summer, this game is really going to be incredible fun. When that happens, everyone will have a little more faith in the process and be a little more comfortable in the game.

Until that time, Ill be pushing fans and devs and working for the best possible answer in any given situation.

This is incredible. If i was to tell my clients ' 13 months after we released your software, it should be beneficial to use it' i think my career would be in serious jeopardy.

Sorry to troll DEs, but I for one have been looking forward to getting some new droids. I am somewhat of a droid collector, even though most of the are onlt useful to follow me around a make noise.

Ackis,

I love the part where he says that the game will be fun in about 6 months time.

Hmmmm...what does THAT tell us???

LOL I wasn't going to comment on that part... I wonder what PC Gamer and whatnot would do with that info? ROFL

Norax,

I think you're being too kind. My guess, due to standard SOE delays, is that "Summer" really means "November" (when XMas sales start again).

By the way, does anyone know if SWG has been placed back on the shelves of major software outlets of the world?

Note: that question was rhetorical...I think we all know the answer. I saw some SWG at the Best Buy "Bargain Bin" not too long ago.

BE's are to CH as DE's should be to DH's...

just makes sense....

there you have it... now make the high end combat droids certified to DH's and have a base cl 10 for everyone else... just like the pets.

Any prediction about this game beyond the next publish (30-60 days) is pure crystal ball reading ... I have as much faith in Miss Cleo's predictions.

We'll see when we get there, all that matters is today is improving the processes ... better testing on code before it's released, faster fixes to profession-busting bugs, better communication with the paying customer ... glacial progress in these areas, but that's the only progress I care about. Promises about great stuff in Q3 is meaningless.

Perhaps the real solution would have been to not release the game with so many broken proffesions
