Thread: DE Goodies for Publish 6

Sorry Drashk, but I'm just pissed as hell with the lack of love the DE profession recieves from the DEV team..
Thanks strykler. I'm feeling the frustration too, but for me its about trying to get the information that the community deserves.TH and I have been in a bit of a sparing match over this issue. There are a lot of things going on right now that are being brought about for the community as a whole. TH really is doing a great job for us, even if the communication isn't flowing to the community from his side of the screen.

How can that be so? The closing of the SWG Discussion Forum and the opening of the new forums cleansed us of this malady, so said someone with a RED name!
Drashk, i appriciate you taking the heat, but frankly from your respsonses the community isnt being represented. You seem to believe this is some how a step in the right direction.
You also claim that the community as a whole is being adressed. Well you know what the community has been adressed, many many proffesions have been adressed individually. CH as just the latest to get months and months of there work.
Sorry but i could give a crap about the community as a whole right now. IT was promised and way over due for DE singular.
As our representitive you should be letting thunder know that he has totally let the community down. This plan is pathetic and not in the least acceptable to you or the people you represent.
I am really sick of hearing how much he is doing cause frankly all it is so far is hot air. Explain one single thing he has done for DE to date. NAME ONE. Its alot more hot air.
Tell him to get his sorry rear end on these forumns and start delivering on all this hard work. Cause as of right now he has done NOTHING.
What you gave us for a PUBLISH are fixes for broke items since DAY ONE. Thats not content, not exciting and if you havent read your community post noone is impressed.
I appoligize for being blunt but you sound very much like a good bud of thunderhearts and a cheer leading section and thats not what your job was presented to this community as.
No we wont get everything we all want. But to throw a couple fixes out and think we should all revel in the glory of what Thunder did is insulting.
Frankly we dont need him or you for what we have so far, so i sure hope there is one heck of alot more that you are not privy to yet, but please quit defending his position cause so far he has done 0, nothing, notta, and if he has it isnt known to any of us, so if your not happy with my response then blame him.
Finally being able to install modules into BLL's will be a decent boost to droid sales potential. I've had a lot of requests for the BLL, and gone will be the days of telling customers that the droid is completely useless.
Is this an exact quote from TH or a translation? I ask because it says that they will be adding a grand total of one module slot to the BLL. Surely not, right? The Advanced Protocol already has two slots so it would now have 3 and the basic would have one. Am I reading this right?

Bug fixes are nice, but frankly I was hoping to see a little more content as well as the fixes. Us DE's have been unwanted and unloved for way too long.
Here's hoping for some items to be released in this publish that have yet to be revealed.....
Alright!!!!
We are starting to get what we asked for! Good deal!
Thanks for shareing Drashk
Thank you TH!
About the publish numbers and the forums.
Thing to keep in mind is that there is a new boss on the block. They brought over 'Runesabre' from EA as lead developer now and most of you who have any familiarity with UO in recent years will recognize the name, the forums, and the publish format.
Although schedule may slip or change here a little bit there are some things to keep in mind. Rune is very very experianced andhas a reputation for delivering high quality patches/publishes. He knows how to run a live team.
I also believe the the team has been re-orged a bit.
Be a patient for a bit more and give these folks a chance and I think you will be pleased with results. Perhaps not the pace or schedule, but the results.
I think you all have to decide if you're in the game for the long run or not. Then things will be clearer to you.

Ok Drashk, another question for your input...
I just saw the "vehicle colorization" Friday Feature. Are all the bugs and problems with droid customization going to be fixed in the next patch, or did we just get bumped again?
or is vehicle customization going to work the same way droid customization does now....

Then again, have any of us actually seen a developer's lips move?

- Droid storage compartments are now using droid experimentation rather than artisan.
- Droid customization tool now gives droid crafting xp instead of general xp
- Droid socket modules can no longer be plugged into one another.
- Multi-crafting station module droid capability fixed for some cases where one type would over-ride another type.
- Combat-related stats removed from examine windows for non-combat-capable droids
- Item Storage Module 2's now really are that, instead of becoming data storage module 2's during the crafting process.
Where the hell are my battledroids and droidekas? This is basically just a list of bug fixes and revamps for things that should have been "working" and "fun" at launch or at the very least a month after. I'm sorry but at 6 months past due baby steps are not going to get the job done. The developers OWE US, plain and simple. We deserve more than this pathetic list of bug fixes.
"Item Storage Module 2's now really are that" Woohoo omg the profession does what it's supposed to do......oh wait.... even that sucks and isn't fun as it should be.
"Combat-related stats removed from examine windows for non-combat-capable droids" Well jeez that was totally ruining my experience with the DE profession... oh wait no now I remember! It was the fact that different types of droids have no difference between them other than their module capacity! Why don't they fix THAT before they start worrying whether droid socket modules plug into one another or not. Yes, this can be annoying but lets deal with the actual issues here people.
The DE profession needs to be cooked longer not served raw witha dash of seasoning to try and make it edible.
