Thread: DE Goodies for Publish 6
Ok Drashk, another question for your input...
I just saw the "vehicle colorization" Friday Feature. Are all the bugs and problems with droid customization going to be fixed in the next patch, or did we just get bumped again?
POOPER
A big steamy pile of it.
I would like to hear some real news, not fixes for bugs from the first month.
ROFL, ROFL thats it. What happened to new low lvl combat droids. That is what has taken them MONTHS to come up with.
Frankly you have got to be kidding me.
And why would that be held back.
I dont freegin believe this is the news we have been waiting for, MY GOSH MY KID WITH A CRAYON COULD HAVE DONE BETTER.
2 words thunder YOU STINK,
Sorry im not gonna grovel, thats pitiful, disgraceful and insulting. MONTHS ago you had this great plan and we were PROMISED that we were getting attention this month, and thats it????????????????
UN FREEGIN REAL
I realize now they definately have reached there employment requirement for the mentally challenged.
Thanks Drashk for the update.
With ever fix they make... my happiness grows! ![]()
I have had a lot of requests for BLL w/ Modules so at least this is a start. Keep it coming! I wouldnt mind a few hot fixes along the way....
thats all the bullchit the dervs think we need to be happy for another 6 months.. well f*ck you too..
my motto still shall be..
FIX US A$$HOLES
1) It may be underwhelming but FIXES are FIXES and we're not being TOTALLY ignored. Being able to sell BLL is still a MAJOR fix, because people have ALWAYS wanted them. We asked for bug fixes, we received bug fixes.
2) My favorite topic; The cluster. Without question Cluster stacking in Cluster is an exploit. It is HIGHLY debatable that Cluster in General is an exploit. The argument that it would make an R5 the best droid is a shallow argument when you consider that its possible that the R5 schematic is wrong to have 3! Orits the unattended consequence to give a beginner a droid with 3 modules. Come on, we have a profession with 30 bugs from beta, whose to say the droid progression is as intended? I would say the fact that the cluster stacking bug exists is a strong argument as to the validity of placing clusters in generals. Its quite possible that it was intended for higher level DE's to put more modules in lower level droids. Armour definately increases up thattree as well, and while we consider armour useless, at the time it was created, itpossibly wasnt. Its possibleunder the original plan that having more HAM/Armour for advanced droids was more important than number of modules. Couldalso make an argument that higher skill allows for smaller modules, much like an electronic device that comes out this year is one size, but 5 years from now advanced construction allows it to become 1/10 of the size. Its no different than plugging a power strip into a wall outlet, or having a SCSIdevice chain. Itstotally within reason.Twice we have asked for clarification, and twice the response has been to another question. It is totally legitimate to ask for confirmation whether this is a bug or intended. Bottom line is the answer can go either way, and it really doesnt matter what the answer is so long as they answer the **edit** question at some point. But to jump up and down and call people cheaters over a vague and poor game design is silly. There are clear and rational arguments on both sides of the fence, and NO ONE, not even Drashk can speak definatively on the subject. (Unless he's been told definatively and cant tell us
)
3) Of all things, I really wish they would have droid repair. The probot is a good viable pet for 1 battle. Not being able to repair it makes it useless for hunting. Im sure its an easy fix to have the repair module fix the droid, im sure the problem is that its instantaneous, i just wished they'd find a way to implement it to create a real market for probots.
So, apart from the cluster issue being addressed (which is a Good Thing (tm)) we have very, very, minor bug fixes.
More to the point I have been lying to my customers, telling them that Jan would contain low level combat droids and Feb would have the real thing..and I did so based on Dev promises..oh dear me.
Surely someone in Dev land knew the first stage was not coming weeks ago..so why on earth did they not tell us?
Once again, communication is the big failing, I know software development and that 'things happen' but for heavens sake why dont they tell us when a firm promise is going to be broken.
And the latest good news? I can't call my crafting droid in my house anymore apparently..anywhere else on the planet but not in my house.......do any Devs actually play a DE? I bet not.
Thanks for the info though, some is better than none.
Trying to be cheerful and positive is getting harder don't you think?
Yeah, its been a deplorable day for professional courtesy on the DE boards. No excuse for it whatsoever. But at least strykler had the courage to acknowledge that he stepped out of bounds.

Sorry Drashk, but I'm just pissed as hell with the lack of love the DE profession recieves from the DEV team..6 months and we are only gettting minior bug fixes that should have happened back in beta..
you got one point , but yourway to say that is not the best ... far from it in fact ... this is not going to help DE getting more love from the devs...
Even if your are definitivly right ...
I didn't read the whole thread...
But considering we are supposedly priority, that is a pathetic list of DE changes.
How can you tell when a Dev is lying to you.......His lips move.
ALRIGHT! Bug fixes! Just a few more before this profession is set to go live! Too bad all those other professions are still lagging behind, in that they haven't gotten bugs fixed OR new content like some sort of armor schematic quest yet. SUCKS TO BE THEM!
oh wai
Now, I could be happy about this. I could be. But there's something nagging the back of my mind. Oh what could it be... I know! It's that these have been bugs since beta that are only just now, 6 (7?) months after going live, being fixed. I could be happy about that too, in fact. I understand it takes a long time to get stuff developed.
But it boils down to this: they've been asking for our input, for our comments, for this that and the other thing from us, and what do we get in return? After all these months of us trying in vain to answer THEIR questions, all that we've got to show for it are fixed bugs (that haven't even happened yet) and an 'in development' plan that a great many of us disagree with.
And then, of course, the insult to injury of telling us that they want to make communication their big priority this year, mysteriously coupled with drastically less developer interaction.
It'll be good to see these fixes, it really will. But we should be far, far beyond this point by now.
