Thread: DE Goodies for Publish 6

Pathetic and Disappointing.

Am I the only one that feels they should spend less time working on AT-ATs, New Vendor/Bazaar System, CH Nerf, Mounts , vehicles and more time on fixing problems that have existed since beta? Yes I know some items I listed are in the past. But those items were the excuses of the past as to why they didn't fix our profession.

I mean the least they could do is un-nerf the probots. Give me a fsking break. As Ron says; "...up yours" SOE.

Ok... sorry for veering off the path above... the fixes are nice and all I do appreciate them... but where is some Dev post-age? I know the life day stuff and all but seriously... since I became a DE a few months ago... I have been wondering what I can do, besides harvester runs... I can't keep my commando skills so I can't kill anything...

Making money is great and all, but seriously... DEs need a word, from one of the Devs... we need some kind of outline/sketch/plan to see where we are tentatively going... I want to see the vision that Drashk is telling us to be patient about... Patience is a rare and finite resource… lets stop grinding with it and start making something worthwhile…

My question is, then why are there Correspondents for each profession? What I am trying to do is do what my title suggest at.I am trying to keep both sides informed of what is going on. I'm not just here to collect the thoughts of my community and then report them, I'm here to collect the thoughts, report them, and then come back here with any information that I am given.

If the DEVs responded to each community that requested an update on information, there would never be any work completed, since there are 38 different communities, not including each server community. It just can't work that way, not if we want anything to ever been done for the community.

I too want them to fix bugs first. And am happy that they are. My confusion here is I still have the memory of that Droid Invasion announcement in my mind, as I think many people here do. And, because of the grandiose nature of that announcement,I am expecting some information about it at this point.

There's still no thread for it even though they claimed the thread to already be in existence when they made the announcement nearly 2 weeks ago! /rolleyes

And then after seeing everyone waiting here in anticipation---anticipation that was built up because of that announcement---I see they give us a partial list of bugs they are going to fix.

That's great. But that's all? The question still remains:

what the heck is the droid invasion and where the heck is the thread discussing it? your release of information about the upcoming DE fixes has gotten tied up in our anticipation regarding the misleading statements in that announcement, in my opinion.

Yeah, Kollos used to call people exploiters back before we found out module stacking was perfectly legal. That's unfortunate I think.

Sodan is an exploiter! Sodan is an exploiter!

Wait... what are we talking about?

I still call people exploiters. If you're putting socket clusters in normal sockets, you're exploiting a bug. Which makes you an exploiter. The term "exploit" justisn't an emotional hot-button to me like it is to some people.

Man, I go away for an hour for a phone interview, and there are 47 new posts in this thread when I come back! Sheesh...

Daker,

One of the things that you really need to keep in mind is the time frame that the In Development page was drawn up. It was added right before I was picked as Correspondent. I've given TH and the DEVs some information to chew on, that has come from the community. I have a feeling that they might have gotten a sour taste in their mouths from this information and are trying to decide 'Well, what next then?' I'm not saying that this is what is the casue for the communication break down, but I do know that the last few days in DEV-land have had TH tied up with meetings.

I'm going to ask TH again for an update to the Droid Invasion situation right after I finish my swing through the DE forum. There are some pretty heavy debates going on right now, here and there, that I have an interest in. I've made it clear to TH that the DE community is disappointed about the lack of information and that it goes back further than just the Droid Invasion issue. I'm doing the best that I can do, to try and get information flowing.

I agree with Drashk on this. Maybe the delay is one of recent database problems, but also they are reluctant to put out info on the "Droid Invasion" seeing our info on how broken we are to begin with. It could be a real nightmare for them if they released the "droid Invasion" with all the current bugs not being addressed first. As stated before, fix bugs before adding new content. Could this be that they are actually starting to understand our issues? I hope so.

Then let them take the time to do it right.

The only thing that would make me angry would be if they pushed out a poor release that just made us worse off. It just concerns me that the current listed bug fixes at the top of this thread seem to be soooo far off what any one of our DE's would advise if they asked.

Which is exactly why I am only "kinda" freaking out instead of REALLY freaking out...

Although you have not said it...I have been wishfully thinking that maybe the reason we haven't heard anything is that the droid publish is being bumped a little because of the information you passed along (instead of because of other new content that has been added). I still REALLY hope that is the case, and would be more than willing to wait as long as takes for devs to have the time to takeour feedback into account.

As I said, I know for a fact that we have a great correspondant...my only worry is how much the devs are going to listen to that great correspondant...

Whatever they didn't promise, they clearly stated that January would see the beginning of the Droid Invasion with light combat droids. Whatever that means (240HAM droids with guns?)

But then this is SOE time wherea month is 3 months of our time, that means SOE-January ends in march ... *hmmm*

Actually, that is software development in general. When did Windows 2000 come out, and what was its launch date originally?

I am more scared because Drashk was giving the DEVs the information. But we have not stood as an Unified front. Combat DEs over here and Crafter DEs over there

I was just implying that they are not known for keeping any deadlines. I neither saythat's bad per se.

I think I can sum this up for a lot of us;

  • Added general module slot to the advanced Binary Load lifter droid, and both basic and advanced protocol droids.

  • Slightly better then a sharp stick in the eye. I am sure my sales of these will double now! heh

Ok protocols could be popular.. a little.. +1

  • Droid storage compartments are now using droid experimentation rather than artisan.

  • Most are MA/MDE anyway due to dependances. zero effect

  • Droid customization tool now gives droid crafting xp instead of general xp

  • See above

  • Droid socket modules can no longer be plugged into one another.

  • Most of us were not explioiting this anyway but yes.. I give that a Thumbs Up for a big +1

  • Multi-crafting station module droid capability fixed for some cases where one type would over-ride another type.

  • If at first you don't... zero

  • Combat-related stats removed from examine windows for non-combat-capable droids

  • Ah.. zero

  • Item Storage Module 2's now really are that, instead of becoming data storage module 2's during the crafting process

  • Does anybody make or use these? zero

    So thats 2 for 7 .. battin .286 ,, wow,,

    Still in the minors..
