100% Agree, excellent Post.

It is sort of sad, but at 1 point I was 5th or 6thin line asa DE in my P.A.Nowthere is only 1 Master, and I am the next closest to becoming a Master. Thats it, the rest split or dropped to do something more fun because they got tired of the nothingness that has always been DE.

Why doesn't SOE love us, why?

Still no response or anything from the devs. Heh it's getting really old. This is the very first profession I worked at...still haven't mastered. Why? No point in it. I can make just as effective droids as a master DE, I am 4, 4, 0, 4. There is no reason whatsoever in worrying about customization and experimentation, as there never has been. I only wish these jackasses would wake up and see that we're not asking for much, personally I would just like a decent combat droid seeing how they're totally nerfing pets in general as we will soon be only able to have one of ANY type out. They keep asking us to repeat ourselves as if it's some sort of a stall tactic. Talk is over and soon will be my subscription as I am totally convinced that we are dealing with a group of morons here. Any person of average intelligence would have been able to figure out what needs done by now.

Hear hear! I've wanted to play a droid engineer since before launch, but with all the bugs and general uselessness of droids it ceased to be a viable option for me. What disgusts me the most is perception at SOE that players should have creatures and that people could have grauls and rancors and that is more acceptable than people having droids that actually do stuff - like fight. It just doesn't make sense. And yes, creature handler is fun, it works, and I really enjoy it. But there should have been a droid equivalent. Why? Because in the movies and the books, droids were always there and played way huger roles. Never did I see in the movies or in the books a character that ran around with his big giant pet panther and fought with him to kill stuff. (I haven't read all the books, but I've probably read over 20 of them.) The closest things to that are images in the movies of creatures as mounts and beasts of burdens and Jabba's "pet" rancor. However, droids are everywhere. Droids carry weapons (IG-88, etc.). Droids do stuff - like act as doctors, hackers, engineers, translators, and negotiators/protocol reminders. One thing you see a lot in the books, and in the movies before our currrent timeline: droids fighting. One thing is certain - droids should have a greater presence than creature pets. (And when I say that, I do not say nerf CH. I say Beef up DE!!!)

I think this thread should be stickied until Novembers State of the Profession post.

Until DEs are recognized as a profession by the CH-obsessed Devs and we get some results, we all need to keep reminding them or we need to leave. Im not leaving yet, so heres my reminder.....

BUMP!

Sintrosi excellent post.

I am almost at master, when i reach if the second part of the CH fix is implemented then I am off to start a new character untill SOE behave in an ethical way to paying customers who have spent a lot of time and effort to move to the top of the DE tree (I was not guild funded).

I will keep my DE char on Radient as I am an optomist but SOE oh dear how do you sleep at night :-).

Wow. DE's still have no real purpose. I started SWG when it came out as a DE. I quit the game after three weeks. Was just checking if anything cool had been done yet. I'll check back later. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply ThunderHeart. Im not sure what a trporting process entails exactly, but Im sure it will be better than the enpty void of nothingness we've been gazing into for the past 4 months.

I understand your feelings and concerns, but in reality, some of these changes are big. Some of them a re small. There are 33 other professions and I have to organize everything and get a handle on how it effects all the players.

Are we going to do the exact same thing next month? No.

But we will need to update it and change things - - this is a fluid process.

This is an MMO and not a static game. All variables are always changing and the first thing we need to do is understand where we are.

This is where we are and where we are going.

As time goes by Ill report on changes and updates bi-weekly and put all key changes in my weekly update.

Geeze, I knew it was bad, but not this bad! No wonder my DE friend is quitting the gamea monthafter he hit master. I wish I had some way of convincing him to stay. Maybe he'll come back in a few months if they fix DE.

Thunderheart,

I was just curious if you felt you have gathered enough information to pass some ideas along to the devs, and if so what may be happening or when we might see some of these plans?

Lets see now your looking at all the other professions and then reprioritizing? I thought we were next in line after CH's? I don't understand how SOE can spend months and months stating over and over again that we are going to get looked at and we are here AGAIN at groud zero.

You stated in a previous thread that you would be able to help us get this stuff done faster once we posted some feedback. Well we have and from the looks of it you are saying its going to take months before we even get an idea on HOW SOE is going to fix us.

It SHOULD not take a month to gather information on a profession that has been around since release. Why don't you communicate with the DEV and ask them HOW we are supposed to work and see if that actually jives? I can't possibly see you gain enough knowledge in the timeframe WE need to accomplish the goals you have set. Why can't a Dev finally take a look at our professtion in conjunction with you? Or do we still not have a DE dev assigned to us?

I still don't understand HOW SOE can still be trying to release New toys (Mounts/Vehicles) when there is so many other toys broken. I understand a MMO must evolve to survive I have been through many MMO's in my years. But, one thing I have learned long ago is that you NEED to fix what you broke first and make the game solid and fun for the existing people. What you are effectively doing is frustrating more and more people from playing this game. I am not trying to single you out when I say "you" I mean SOE in general. =)

You do know that dropping in enhancements for professions that are relatively unbroken are going to set off alot of people, its good that your replying to the DE's but reading between the lines sounds like it maybe months down the line to get thir profession to a halfway enjoyable level on par with the other professions.

I hope you understand that any patch that has additions to the professions are going to just inflame the DE world more and more since this class has seen less attention that most and there are just alot of carrot promises.
