Sorry TH...but this process is what made me drop my Master DE. Almost made me throw the game in the trash if it wasnt for my friends who play.

We have been tring to figure out where we are since launch. We have a general idea its somewhere low on a list that starts with CH. Probably in the group with fencers and cooks.

Driod Engineering is a joke to us, the rest of the SWG community and many within the gaming community. Its been nothing more than a placeholder to say that they are in the game and its the first thing to suffer when a pet issue raises its head.

This is yet another stalling scheme, to hold down the ravenous Driod Engineers while you spend another 2-3 months perfecting the Creature Pets. Ill bet that things will still be unsolved and fluid in another 2 months because you have found that Droids are really not that important to SWG.

Please fix the bugs and stop BSing us. A little bit of honesty goes a long wayinimproving customer relations. A message from you folks saying 'We really see no need in improving droids right now, since creature pets are the real cash cow for us' will actually help you right now...

Man..thats just sad

Indeed.

I will say this though, if all of the DE pure bugs (i.e. not referring to any new content) were fixed, people's perception of the profession wouldincrease by leaps and bounds. New content will eventually take care of itself, mostly likely in or after the first expansion pack.

Im sorry but this is just terrible. I hit master DE 2 months ago and we were complaining about stuff then and it seems to me now that all we are doing is starting over from scratch. I know TH is new and just got here and all but why should WE be made to suffer while he gets his stuff organized, we have been suffereing since the game began as one of the most broken classes in the game. Now here we are after 4 months of complaining about it we get a new guy in here that says "Ok guys im gonna get to work on this but tell me what the issues are"

The problem is all the issues are well documented. I dont even care about new DE content i just want what we have to work the way it is supposed to... that would be a nice start, fix the stuff we have been complaining about since day ONE

Okay it's confusing but you do that to me Sin =). Great post, now will SOE listen? hehe one can hope! not that there will be any of us left at that point heh.
I find it sad that I can make Spec Op Packs and sell 20 before anyone even comes to look at a droid or emails me for a custom one. Very sad.

Well back to pulling batteries out of the factory! Great job though! Keep up the great work! Hopefully by the time the space exp roles out we'll actually have most of the bugs on a time line to be fixed

This game will be in the Trash forEver if Droid Engineering is not fixed LONG before space expansions and no amount of fixing would bring me back later or to any SOE game. Fix DE's Soon!

No you can't have my stuff.

Screw me once, shame on you, Screw me twice shame on me.

Eek,

Thunderheart so what you are saying here is that it will take a month to Gather info before anything else gets done to our profession?

I would like to have some kind of idea how long we must all wait before things are going to happen. Can't we at least get our BUGS looked into during this month of gathering so we at least have something to look forward too?

We are going to do this once a month.

This month is going to be a lot of information input for me. Next month and going forward, we will have a reporting process that will help with a lot of things....

Thanks for the reply ThunderHeart. Im not sure what a trporting process entails exactly, but Im sure it will be better than the enpty void of nothingness we've been gazing into for the past 4 months.

cheer...

Well said and that about sums things up. 'Process' is the software evil that some may use in place of real progress. I have seen major weapon software projects DROWN in 'process' and achieve nothing. We don't need process TH - we need progress - visible, identifiable, forward motion towards an end goal. That means a schedule of some sort and a prioritized implementation list, or at least the promise of one.

Where we are is that there still exists a lot of bug associated with DE's such as repair modules, no detail information on deeds, colorization, droid battery usage, droid UXP, and many more...

These are well documented by us DE's (stickied on the DE forums). Before the devs go off and start fixing the profession, please try fixing these bugs first. Or at least let us know that you are working on them and a time table for fix. As was mentioned in previous posts, some of these bugs have existed for quite awhile, they didn't just appear yesterday. So you guys must have been working on them right?

*speechless*

can't say anything else other than this is straight out sad. they want to up the 'Star Warsiness' so they choose to fix Creature Handlers before Droid Engineers. that just shows where they have their heads.

On July 3rd I bought Star Wars Galaxies. On July 3rd I started playing on the brand new Wanderhome server. On July 3rd I met a guy named Bzum Kao.

Bzum and I played SWG every chance wegot, every instance we were awake. As we learned more about the game, we taught each other all we found out as we explored. Both of us were carbine users and crafters. Bzum decided to make droids, I decided to make weapons (later changed to armor).

I remember when Bzum and I put down our first personal mineral harvester, fending off our harvester site with our trusty CDEF carbines that we built ourselves. The new flow of materials let usjump forward in crafting and finally get to the novice skillbox of our chosen elite crafting professions.

Droids were still a very rare thing. I remember seeing the first mousebot on the streets. Bzum was making droids and selling them like hotcakes. I was struggling to stay self sufficient and had to borrow money from him to pay harvester rents as time went on, while he was racking up hundreds of thousands of credits, which was really big bucks at the time. He was the richest player I knew. He overpriced his droids rediculously, and people paid the price due to excitement of having one of the first protocol droids in the region, or whatever the model might be.

As time went on, his profits dropped. A few more droid engineers popped up and soon everyone and their grandparents had an advanced R2 unit with all five sockets filled with whatever they wanted. Bzum's interest in the game shifted from crafting to combat. Even though he sold many droids in the beginning, I remember just about every customer asked what were droids good for. Most people thought the medical module in their new mousebot would enable the droid to heal them. The confused customer would /tell bzum shortly later wondering why their new droid did nothing but follow them, not healing them.

As people began to see less purpose to droids and that they were more mere toys, Bzum the master droid engineer's business began to collapse. Wearing a droid engineer title used to get him more /tells and orders than he could stand, but not anymore. Could things have gone differently if there were better/more combat droids, or other droids with some real purpose? I think so.

I logged on today to find that Bzum had quit SWG, he left his backpack filled with resources and droid components on the floor of my medium tatooine house, next to his favorite gunman's duster. I was upset to have lost a friend I had shared so many fun times and learning experiences with since day 1 of playing this game. I'll continue to play, but it saddens me that the disabilities of his chosen path brought him to quitting the game. I'll remember my friend by the pre-nerf probot he gave me long ago.
