Thread: Please help me understand your change of heart.
Hi,

Hi,
I don't want to build Droids for another P-O-K-E-M-O-N handler. I
Droid Certs wont work because there are so many combat class combinations that some one will inevitably find an uber-combo with a powerful droid.
That is not only not a powerful argument, it is no argument at all. You must be joking. You mean, you might not get the cert system perfectly balanced the first time out, so it's just impossible to do? Geez, that never stopped you from introducing imbalanced systems of one or two or two THOUSAND different kinds in this game and tweaking them as we went along.
It's still vastly preferable to the DH nonsense you're proposing, and your customers are saying this by an OVERWHELMING majority. Time to start listening.
The Cert system will not work. With a cert system, all the combat in the game would have to get harder and people without a Droid Cert would have a tougher game to play.

That's exactly 300 votes, TH. How many do you need?
Note: This count includes vote swaps (people who changed their votes one or more times).
Well, I'd like to understand the change of heart.
Way back when, when I asked, DE's proclaimed that they were a "crafting professions" and not a "combat professions". Correspondent aside, this opinion was driven by post on this board. I see a big change of heart now.
What's your motivation?
This is an important thread. Off topic posts and rants will be deleted.
First it is not a change of heart, maybe if we had more "efficient communication" instead of the Loud silence about us we will understand your proposition.
Second the more i think of it the more i do not understand your CH profession A WHOLE profession only to control droids ? DH do no have to tame anything, DH do not have to train orders, so 18 box of skills only to control Droids ???? with no other adavantage than a ( as an example ) +10 max droid level +1 droid control +1 droid stored in datapad ????
If you had told more about this DH mabe we won t had this reaction , i can think that you only want to create a whole profession only for a cert systems with no other skills you did not even says what could be the requirement of this new profession and you are surprised by our reaction ???
Ow and one last thing where have you been for three months.
You drop yet another total blunder on us after no communication what-so-ever, then come in and act like you give a darn at all about this proffesion.
You dont its obvious and untell you actually do something that shows you actually are capable of doing what you sayjust go back to ignoring us like you do so very well, and give all your attention to your combat classes.
I challenge you to show one SINGLE instance were you have done one SINGLE thing for this profession.
Because frankly wether you here or not it darn sure doesnt help our proff. The only thing you have helped Droid Engineers do is cancel there accounts
So you are saying there is absolutely NO way to leverage the weapon cert system into something that would also work for droids and absolutely NO way to leverage the CH "calling/controlling" level system across a number of existing professions? Is this an accurate statement?

Is this the offical word from the Devs???
Or is this just your assumption?
I find it hard to believe that they have said "no droid cert system in any way shape or form".

Hi,
I don't want to build Droids for another P-O-K-E-M-O-N handler. I agree with Rho, why the sudden shift of focus on DH and combat droids, when our current Droids are still so useless? Could we just focus on geting some functional Surgical droids that heal, repair droids that fix things...?
In other words, could we fix DE before even considering a DH class or even combat Droid certs? It's an easy thing to add extra schematics for us at a later date, the real challenge is going to be fixing us now.

In that case, we are at an impasse. Do what you will; the next generation of Droid Whatevers will have to decide if what you've wrought is worth playing.

Maybe you should have checked in on these boards once or twice before in the last few months.
Certs have been being discussed on these boards as THE MAIN TOPIC of discussion for months. This means that the expectation has been that you the devs were somewhat on board with this idea.
You could ballance it. You could make it work. But you WON'T make it work - and given how fast the answer came back, it is obvious that a snap decision was made without really thinking it through.
Star Wars IS droids. Everyone should have a droid anyway.
Apparently the devs want a droid combat based profession and the DEs didnt want to be it - thus the devs _think_ we asked for a DH profession
The issue is actually 'should there be a droid combat profession at all?'
If the devs want to add continuity breaking combat droids (which admittedly lots of players want...and all for the wrong reasons) with capabilities beyond what CL10 is able to provide then something has to change, but DH is certainly not the way to go about it IMO!!!!!
