I am telling you what I was told. Any time work is done in high pressure situations, everything is a moving target and at any time, Im giving you my best guess.

Its not done yet because Runesabre has a lot of responsibilities and taking time to post things isnt always possible. He posts when he can, but if something more important comes up, it gets bumped down the priority list. If something regarding the publish comes up tomorrow and it takes RS all day to tend to it, then it gets bumped again. It might get bumped Thursday too and it might night. It all depends on how the work day goes. Everyone here is working long hard days to get the publish out and that is the team's focus.

Thats just the way it goes.

You may wanna add to your sig a disclaimer saying something like ``Dates stated in the above post are best guess.''

Thats what always gets you crucified by the community, you give times and dates without stating that they're a guesstimate. Then do to circumstances that are probably completely out of control the deadline you gave isnt met and everyone starts jumping all over you.

why does this hurt credibility, come on people. I'm dissapointed it wasn't today, but relax. Devs don't "lie" just to piss you off, use your brian. Be civil and type up and get readythe retort to the DH idea you'll respond with to runesaber instead of just throwing out silly accusations and wasting thread space with worthless posts. Honestly, I'm tired of hearing these date debates. If something doesn't get done theres a reason. Its not all a conspiracy to steal your cash.

Now, obviously they didn't understand what we wanted so theres room to be angry, but can we stop with the "YOU LIE!!!" and just be constructive for once. Fix things, instead of troll.

eagerly, but patiently awaiting runesaber so we can fix this mess,

I dont diagree Norax. Still, Im always going to push the envelope on both sides. I push the devs as hard as I push the community - - its why I was chosen. Believe me, I've taken a beating today, but in the end, the issue is being looked at by the whole dev team, the community and everyone is involved. I have been the catharsis and thats what its all about; stiff discussion and debate is good for the community and the game.

I believe, as a fan who has been around since day one, that by the end of the summer, this game is really going to be incredible fun. When that happens, everyone will have a little more faith in the process and be a little more comfortable in the game.

Until that time, Ill be pushing fans and devs and working for the best possible answer in any given situation.

TH on the whole you have been a great improvement to the SWG world. I dont doubt your intentions.

The fact that your first communication since the much disliked revamp of the forums and the thread of 300 topics was clearly a mistake, most likely in your interpretation ofwhat was wanted has caused probably a little too much acid to be spat your way.

The silence since before Christmas, the fairly impressive BE **edit**-up and then this caused a few trigger fingers to flinch.

Today we see the in-concept forum spring to life and that should be good.

Anyway onto droids.....

hows about this for a Droid Usage Certification system.

Droids upto the equivalent of CL10 can be used by anybody

Higher Level Droids can be operated by :

All --> A droid Engineer (related to 1 of the 4 trees, prob. experimentation)

The rest of use have to earn them via a cerificate granted from Faction Point expenditure some of which require you to be overt.

Thus we encourage the GCW allow anyone to use them and dont need a new class !

Thunderheart. You have taken a beating today. Most of that was due to the fact that the wording of your original postmade it seemthat the decision to implement a Droid Handler profession was 1) Certain and Inevitable, and 2) Approved of by the vast "majority" of the DE populace. Obviously, by re-examining almost all the posts involved over the last 24 hours, we are lead to understand that both of these perceptions are wrong (from what we can ascertain).

What I don't understand is this. ALL of this could have been avoided ifthe "In Concept" forum was used to pitch the Droid Handler *idea* before this whole thing degenerated into a verbal cacophany of screaming, name calling, failed expectations, and chaos. That's not even addressing the fact that Drashk warned you this would happen.

It would have been much safer for you to have posted the seed that spawned this whole quagmire in the "In Concept" forum, and we could have all brought our thoughts together in one, singular hall of discussion and under the obvious guise of "discussion on stuff that is conceptual only."

I have to say that in general i'm disappointed about what is happening with DE, why am i disappointed well that's easy i've been playing since beta 3 and from that time we as players have been told things that either never come to pass or seemed delayed for months now i'm only going on posts that have been posted by the DEV's not what players would like to see and DEV's track record isn't great tho it has gotten better since Thunderheart has been around but i still think the communicate between what players would like to see and is possible ingame is not contecting.

Now i understand you are still working out bugs and profession changes and adding content which i'm all for, and for me i'ld like to see the best game around but if you want to keep players happy please be as up front as you can be about the up coming changes, what's possible and what's not i've seen to many people get ticked off about nerfs buggy professions and a lack of content posts like there would be a discussion about DE changes from the 5th to 9th and then another post on 12th about what the DEV's think would be possible from that discussion.

Sometimes it really feels as if you don't really listen to what players of certain professions would like to see come in, i sometimes don't think you understand how the players sometimes feel about the state of the game we are playing and PAYING for, i hope that we can really all work together to make this the game it can be anyway that's my 2 cents as a paying customer.

Ouch

So you admit the game isnt funny right now?
If you think so ... what you think needs to be changed?

So finally the game will be funny 1.3 years after release ... not bad.

First of all, in the Star Wars universe, droids are incredibly central to the theme and feel of the universe.

DE's have been told that we are "the top priority".

Thunderheart, I am asking - if we aren't going to get feedback, please, just tell us so. There is a whole list of things we were promised - updates, the de-nerf of the probot, information, fixes, combat droids in January (July now?!?!) - that just never materialized, or came through months late. This makes this community very skeptical of anything. And the sequence of events - whether intentional or not - reguarding the announcement of intention to form a seperate droid handler class, was like throwing gas on a bonfire.

This is not a rant, though I am feeling pretty bitter right now. But if you really want to see these forums be productive, it has to be a two way street.

As a software engineer myself, I fully understand slippage. However, you can't slip on every single deliverable and still expect to have people expect candor in your promises out of you.

I know that DE is but one of many professions. However, given how ubiquitous droids at least should be in the SW universe, the word droid should be coming up in every single meeting and discussion that the devs have.

The "uberpost" should have been able to have been cut and pasted from working notes and memo's. If it is late January, and you are just realizing that you will have ballance issues with combat droids, this does not bode well for droids in general.
