Since we don't know if buffs are figured into CL, we can't be sure they're equal.

For example, take the CL9 pet and try it against the Probot with Master Doctor buffs or even the HAM buffs of different foods. I imagine that will change the results slightly.

Yes, I know that it costs extra, but so do pet stims, they're all outside resources that can enhance the pets abilities. One big problem is that soon Droids will have healing items as well. But you need to account buffs into that.

2K-3K on each stat will, I think, tip the favors to the CL9 pet.

Since Droids have this major difference, I think it's unfair to base the CL of the "droid" on the pet since CL's isn't calculated by a known forumla.

Another thing to consider: can creature pets be buffed? I don't actually now. But it makes a huge difference if they can.

Pets can be have thier health and action buffed yes. Still less powerful than if your new probot stats go through.

Lets just assume you're right and a probot is CL20 instead of CL10. So what? What do you want to do about it?

Will be on Live it seems, currently is on the TC. What am I gonna do about it? Well I'm doing this.

Why do you think ranting here is going to affect anything? What does it matter to you?Hell, since two pets can be out, its not even like you're going to lose business. So who cares?

For starters you don't think the devs have taken notice of a 4 page topic? I know the moderators have because of the 1 star. Why does it matter to me? Because if I have noticed this now, the devs will notice it later on. Which means if they don't change things before they hit live you guys have a nice little nerf coming down the line.. wouldn't that be nice, to give you something and take it away again. I know you folks love that

You can call a probot CL100 and it still would die in 3 hits against creatures an elite profession would hunt, let alone pvp.

This just goes to show you how little you understand about CL ratings. Are you even aware what kind of mobs in the game are CL100 or higher? Lets just say if you had a CL100 probot in PvP you'd be able to take on an AT-ST solo without breaking into a sweat.

The fact is that the bio-engineer cloning wouldn't be possible without a formula, if you haven't tried cloning then it's understandable that this mysterous CL rating system appears to be arbitary. Give it a try sometime, it'll open your eyes to the fact there is a formula at workhowever its got a few loopholes in it.

is that from TC or Live? You claimed in your original post that all this was from live, but now its starting to seem you are getting a lot of you number from TC.

The numbers on test probably are a little high. But as AudioOrgana said in another post the dev cycle usually looks something like:

  • Low pass

  • High pass

  • Settle somewhere inbetween

Now you can argue that the original Probot was the "Low Pass" and now we're in the "High Pass". Chances are, and even the DE's in that new probot thread are thinking, the stats on the Probot are probably a tad high, and will get knocked down.

But one thing still stands out to me: You started this thread BEFORE these Probot changes were on test, in fact they came in a little laterin theday. So the "probots are overpowered" statement referred to the current Live Probot, not the one on Test.

I would suggest you do this as well. The fact that you haven't played a Droid Engineer shows your ignorance for this profession as well. Drop all your skills and master MA and MDE, then see how much fun managing resources and factories is. Then sell all your products and see how much your sales differenceare between selling your BE cloth, Stims, Chef Food Boosts and your Non-CH and CH pets varies.

Next I want to see your "tests" of how a fully buffed and Master Chef fed pet handles in all these goofy scenarios you keep posting.

argh! non-community veterans need an edit button. that previous post had a grevious typo

In any case, if the answer to the question of whether or not pets can be buffed is yes, then that explains everything. Droids cannot be buffed and thus a "CL10" droid, should kick an unbuffed "CL10" pets butt. Otherwise it would be horribly unfair to the droids.

So that lead me to this question: take some of those CL10 creatures, buff them to the max, and then sick them upon the unbuffed CL18 creature that the probot slaughtered. If the buffed CL10 beats the unbuffed CL18 then I'd say there's is absolutely no discrepancy here at all.

The data I posted and these screenies are from Live. The Ahazi server. My character on the TC isn't a Bothan nor is he a bio-engineer.

The original topic was made because at the time it appeared that the currently Live probots were drastically higher in terms of effectiveness compared to anything the bio-engineers could make. As the topic continues the issue shifted to the new stats on the TC probots however I will hold my hands up and say I was mistaken on the original topic that the fault lies with the probots currently on Live. It actually turned out on further investigation that it's the clones who are suffering from an issue whereby we lower their DPS to increase the HAM but are not getting a balanced trade off between the damage we're losing and the HAM we're gaining. So yes, on the original post I was at fault and i will admit to that. As it stands though if the current changes for the probot make it through to live you WILL be finding that no pet, buffed or unbuffed at CL10 will be a match for them or able to fight at the same level.

Thats a VERY good point. Not only can pets be buffed by Doctors, but there are several Foods (some very powerful, like 1300 to Health action and mind) that can buff pets.

We don't want this to get out though do we? I mean we don't want the dev's realizing there is a mistake in the code allowing a NON-CH pet to gain a couple thousand HAM, plus eating special Chef food do we ?? Add on top of this the bonus HAM and Attacks with the CH inherent buffs.

Maybe we should start whining on the Bio Forum about this imbalance in game design.

the picture you posted had neither a picture of a bothan nor a picture of anything related to a be. it was a probot's examine window.

The devs ignore all sorts of messages, and 4 pages is hardly a blip compared to some. The "moderating" you are referring to can be done by anyone reading a message... its radio buttons 1-5 at the bottom of each post. Being one starred in this forum is pretty standard. If every addition to the game was stopped because it could be nerfed down the line, there wouldnt be any additions.

You misunderstand the point. You can "call" a probot CL100, orCL20 or CL10. You can assign any number to it you like, and it still has no use for anyone who is past a novice profession.

Don't worry I'll be checking on this either tomorrow or this weekend, if there's an issue with overpowering I'll bring it up on the BE forum and have the usual one-starring from folks who like their little 'power niche' to be left alone. Typically you can add around 3k to the health and action although I don't know about the mind. Certainly that wouldn't be overpowering since it means in PvP the animal is no more effective than if it was unbuffed since people can target the mind pool. It does give them a benefit in PvE however that is a trade off since they'll gain nothing from PvP.

Look at the other pics I posted on this page, this is why it pays to read the whole topic. I'll cave you some time and link you to the pic which shows that this was done on Ahazi.
