1) Would the ablity to add Combat Modules be acceptable for the following droids?

  1. MSE No (the bomb idea is kinda far-fetched anyway)
  2. R-Series Droids No (maybe limited range shock defense)
  3. Treadwell No (just look at the darn thing, what could it DO?)
  4. Power Droid No (this would be the logical choice for a bomb though hehehe)
  5. LE Repair Droid No (just let it put the poor combat droids back together afterwards)
  6. Surgical Droid No (just let it put the poor players and pets back together afterwards)
  7. Protocol Droid Yes (4LOM from ep5 was a protocol droid that had modified HIMSELF for bounty hunting) he wasn't a 3PO model though
  8. Binary Load Lifter Yes (i agree that it would be a good melee or weapon mount chassis)

they could make weapons / weapon mounts be an "illegal" modification on the 3PO and BLL too. let em do melee withJUST themodule though as "legal" models

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids) No (too little flexibilty)
  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage) Yes (but make the "dedicated" chassis BETTER than "jack-of-all-trades" chassis)

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed) No (once they fix the module cluster stacking and such it will work itself out)

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item? i agree with all those who have said thatmore classes should have droids and modules that are helpful to them (entertainer, surveyor, bioengineer, etc...) of course a few more combat related droids wouldn't hurt either (with proper class restriction / certification)

that's just my 2 cents worth anyway

A form of # 2 i.e....Amedical droid that only does medical tasks, but the higher quality the module the better work droid does

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

Yes. I dont think a mouse should be able to hold a level 6 storage module.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

For thisprofession to start getting some noticable changes and fixesSOON ! I'm getting so tired of wait ! wait !wait !

  1. MSE No (but have mouse bombs)
  2. R-Series Droids No
  3. TreadwellNo
  4. Power Droid No
  5. LE Repair Droid No
  6. Surgical Droid No
  7. Protocol Droid Yes But make the M-3P0 version
  8. Binary Load Lifter No

I would perfer

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)

Each

Hmm For some reason it posted Before i was finished

Droids were created fora specific purpose in the Star wars univerce so let's continue it here. Some droids can be Swiss army knives (the R series) but others like LE repair droids and the Surgical droids only man purpose is to do what they were made for.

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

Yes

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

More types of moduals. Broaden the market so that all profesions could benifit from using a droid. I dont know how many times I was asked by entertainers if there was a droid that let them preform outside.

1) Would the ablity to add Combat Modules be acceptable for the following droids?

1. MSE - yes (I like the idea of MSE bombs)
2. R-Series Droids - yes (in a limited sense like maybe melee)
3. Treadwell - maybe
4. Power Droid - no
5. LE Repair Droid - maybe
6. Surgical Droid - no
7. Protocol Droid - no
8. Binary Load Lifter - no (it's a forklift!!)

2) Which would you prefer?

1. Each Droid to have a specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)
2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

2# I think that rather than have droids that have a specific purpose, there should be modules that will only work in certain droids. I guess in a way this could be kind of a cross between 1 and 2, because I certainly wouldn't have a problem, say, if only power droids could power other droids because that just makes sense.

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

No. I think that a reasonable balance should be worked through the number of available slots that a droid can have AND making it so that stacking is effecting across the board for all levels. For example, an MSE droid can have a level 6 medical module, but it only has a slot for ONE. A surgical droid, on the other hand could have up to three level 6 medical modules (or maybe two and maybe a cool new module that allows the surgical droid to heal in combat, whatever) which, stacked, would make it's medical capabilities say 2 to 3 times better than that of the MSE with just a single level 6 medical module.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

Being able to control multiple droids.

1) Would the ablity to add Combat Modules be acceptable for the following droids?

1. MSE - No

2. R-Series Droids - Yes, weak melee attack like shock prod (electric or stun)

3. Treadwell - Yes, weak kinetic melee attack w/ fast speed (multiple arms)

4. Power Droid - No

5. LE Repair Droid - Yes, weak kinetic melee and weak ranged attack (should carry a gun, or no attack at all)

6. Surgical Droid - No (purpose is to heal. Maybe a ranged stimA with charges…)

7. Protocol Droid - Yes, weak ranged attack (should carry a gun, or no attack at all)

8. Binary Load Lifter -Yes, powerfull but slow kinetic melee attack

2) Which would you prefer?

1. Each Droid to have a specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)

2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

#2 Droid module combos with limitations will to give certain droids an advantage in their respective specialties (eg. Only surgical Droids can have lvl6 medical, others limited to lvl4. Same for data storage with Protocol and R2. BLL could have more items than other droids…).

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

Yes. See above answere.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

A balanced cert system to allow non-Des to use combat droids above lvl10. Anyone who reaches Master in an elite combat class should be able to use the top combat droids, as well as Master Des.

Yes. See 2.

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)
  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

A combination. No other droid can equal a surgical droid in surgery module, but others can use such a module (at lower level.). Same with combat modules and combat droids (1), repair droids, protocoal droids (if they ever get a good use) etc

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

Yes, but see 2 - based as much on chassis as on purpose.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

To have fun as a DE. Very generic and not very useful, I know.

  1. MSE

  2. R-Series Droids

  3. Treadwell

  4. Power Droid

  5. LE Repair Droid

  6. Surgical Droid

  7. Protocol Droid

  8. Binary Load Lifter

Yes to all.

I could see all of these somehow having weapons modded onto them. But they should have negative side-effects to other modules - surgical with weapons loses some space for medical instructions (replaced with combat instructions) andbecomes less effective, etc. They should also never be as effective as pure combat models - this does not necessarily mean less damage, as they could have less armor, lower accuracy, or lower HAM to compensate.

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)

  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

Combination.

Specific droids should have a benefit, but modules should still exist as they are. A surgical droid would get the benefit of existing medical modules while also being able to use stimpacks, while a repair droid would be able to heal droid black and white bar damage. Any other droid with those respective modules would get the existing benefits only.

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

No.

Once things are working as intended again (cluster module bug fixed) the MSE will only be able to hold one module anyway, thus making itless effective than, an R-series.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

If droid usage certifications are implemented, my wish is for DEs to be able to use them.

It would make little to no sense to design a droid from the ground up, and not know how to use the thing....but someone who has never touched a droid before, but has lots of rifle experience can make it run circles around you.

To add to that, a droid so complex that only a DE would be able to know how to operate it. Not all of them are user friendly. The only reason 'anybody could use a droid in the movies' is because they were using droids designed for that market - designed to be user friendly. One would assume that once the user friendly interface is dropped, it's full potential could be reached. Kind of like computer OS - the less user friendly fat, the more efficient they are (command prompt vs. GUI problem).

Sorry, this was longer than intended

  3. Treadwell - No
  4. Power Droid - No
  5. LE Repair Droid - No
  6. Surgical Droid - No
  7. Protocol Droid - No
  8. Binary Load Lifter - No

As stated by someone else these are all non-combat orientated droids and should remain so to remain in line with the SW feel.

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)
  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

# 1

every droid should have a specific use - not just a specific look.

  1. MSE - Should carry data information.
  2. R-Series Droids -Should be what droids are now - Vesitle. Make more modules, maybe a droid bar-tender frame (R2 in jabbas sail barge in "return of the jedi") that helps entertainers heal wounds.
  3. Treadwell -Should be used to assist inconstructionand repairs. (Treadwell in Empire strikes back assisting Han and chewierepairing the falcon)
  4. Power Droid -Should providepower toa multiple of things (maybe enable it topower harvestersand factories for x amount of days before needing its power cell recharged)
  5. LE Repair Droid -make this an advanced model of the Treadwell.
  6. Surgical Droid - Should assist Medical Operations
  7. Protocol Droid -Should be intermediaries "C3PO"and servants "protocol Droid in the Phantom Menace",
  8. Binary Load Lifter - Make these droids load lifters as there name implies. give them increased storage capacity and maybe even give them the ability to collect/deliver factory outputs/harvester resources

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

Yes - To a certain degree each droid should have some form of versatility provided by modulesbut this should definately be limited to the level of complexity of the droid.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

Bring back the feel of SW to the Droid engineer class - Lets start seeing peoples choice in droids being as varied as there choice in race. Lets start seeing droids built for combat not re-hashing of old modules with new "combat modules" and give droid engineers the power over droids "DE pets"

  1. MSE - No, What is it going to do, Wipe the floor with an opponent? I guess you could have a module similar to those "Lint Removers" of nowadays and have him distract an enemy by attempting to upkeep his/her outfit...LOL...Not!
  2. R-Series Droids - yes, a short-range "ZAP-EM!" module.
  3. Treadwell - yes, Idea #1: a "Brain Picker" (mind attack) module used in Melee. Idea #2: Or Better yet...sends out something which look like Clay Pigeons, but short-ranged flight droids rather, like maybe 5 at a time which then spray blaster fire from above at an enemy. And circle above them. Then as the small flight droids are destroyed you have to add more to the Treadwell's Hopper. (I like the 2nd idea better)
  4. Power Droid - Yes, but only defensive, perhaps a "Return Shock" attack if someone uses melee on them. I mean they house a lot of power, right? I know I would electricute an attacker if they came at me and I had all that power housed inside of me. And they are wrapped in Metal, so it has all of the basics.
  5. LE Repair Droid - Maybe, Perhaps an Action Based attack, like throwing droid parts at enemies (which the actual droid parts must be made by a DE and must be put into the Repair Droid's Hopper to be used in combat). Maybe Max Items 20-50, and damage depends on the quality of the part or materials used to make it or something. (A baterry made of iron is going to hurt worse when it hits you in the head than a baterry made of aluminum)
  6. Surgical Droid - Yes, Perhaps some type of ability to poison or "Gas" an enemy. I know the surgical faction droids that are there when you do a faction mission, they attack you.
  7. Protocol Droid - Yes, Perhaps a way for the Droid to distract an enemy with its antics. Take advantage of its personality chip.C3PO used this type of technique many times in the movies. Something like: "Hey you oversized Wookiee platter! I am over here, look, you can see your reflection in my chest!"
  8. Binary Load Lifter - Yes, 1 of 2 things....Perhaps the same base chasis, but different hand attachments. Either 1: Make it similarto the the ED209 off of RoboCop where it has like mini guns on the hands, or for better effect, low level rockets/missiles. Or, 2: something it can use in melee combat. I know it would hurt me if it came swingin those big pancake flippers at me. Perhaps if this is not avail on Binary Load Lifter, create a similar droid with these Capabilities.

It is true that not many of these droids had any combat abilities in the movies, but I DO KNOW that they WOULD find any means of defending themself if attacked. Whether it be to throw dust in an oponent's eyes or pick up a blaster from a fallen friend or foe and shoot off a couple of rounds while they run to hide. I think some more consumables on droids would be preferrable. Something more than a Baterry which is a very small cost to produce. I think the idea of having combat hoppers on droids would be good. Like I said about the Treadwell or theRepair Droid. For Melee droids, you could have to produce a tool to sharpen its weapons or for ranged attack droids have the ability to add power ups to its blaster cannon(s). Creatures have to be fed and healed with pet stims....and I know SOE is developing repair kits for droids...but I think something more original should be offered. I mean, how about if you have a special Baterry for droids. For example...if you use a standard baterry, the droid works at 100% of its efficiency. But, if you use an advanced baterry (something a bit more complex, maybe even name it: "Advanced Power Insert" and requires more parts to make) it works at 150%-210% of normal capacity depending on quality of the unit. This of course would make the droid a bit more vunerable in some areas, like it may be more open to wounds or damage because it is working at a higher capacity than it should be.

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droid to have a specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)
  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)
Combination of both. Droids should have a specific purpose, with additional general capabilities based on modules. Droids, however, should stick to their roots. A combat droid should not be able to assist in medical treatment nor should an MSE droid with plastic wheels be able to be a Pack Mule for its master.

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed) - I think they should each have their own capabilities, and different levels of those availalbe to them. (see answer to #2)

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

a) (Wishlist item #3) CH can control more than one creature at a time. Creatures have temperments, instinct and attitude. I find it hard to believe that a CH can control 3 Rancors at one time, but a DE can not control more than one mouse droid, something he created HIMSELF. I think it would be a bit more realistic if a DE could control more than one droid. Maybe 3. Perhaps 2 advanced models and 1 non advanced. I believe that would be a better way to show the abilities of a crafter." SURE, I can build this big powerful combatdroid, 1000s of circuits, wiring, welds and nuts & screws...but, I can not control more than ONE transmitter to control more thanONE droid at a time...I'm Smart!"lol...I don't think so. Even the Trade Federation...they controlled thousands of droids in the invasion of Naboo...Sure they had a large space station to control them, but I think I can control at least 2 or 3 Droids as a master DE.

b) (Wishlist Item #2) An attack droid like those used by the Trade Federation in the invasion of Naboo. The bipedal upright ones.

c) (THIS IS MY BIGGEST WISH, Wishlist Item #1!) With every profession comes something that only they can use. For example, BH are the only ones avail to use Lightning Cannons. CH are the only ones able to use creatures higher than level 10. It would be nice to have a few droids that ONLY Droid Engineers can use. One problem I see with this is that more people will become DE just for this, which could be bad, but I think the ability to control something that is too advanced for those who are NOT DE would be nice.

P.S. I am thankful to SOE for finally giving the Droid Engineer profession some Lovin. It has been a long time coming and needed.

  1. MSE
  2. R-Series Droids
  3. Treadwell
  4. Power Droid
  5. LE Repair Droid
  6. Surgical Droid
  7. Protocol Droid
  8. Binary Load Lifter

I have to say no here to all. I believe these are all specific job function droids. I believe that armor modules should be removed from them all also, (including the probot. it is a recondroid with only enough blaster power to deter an attack. It's not a combat model) Add a new humaniod model (roger-roger) that can accept only combat modules and defense modules. Make currentmodels combat droids by putting a radial dial of Self Destruct with time settings and people can choose to leave them in a spot to self destruct and cause Acid damage from there electronics.

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)
  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

This is a tough choice to answer. Some models should be specific. Mouse droid should be data only. Repair - Repair, etc. But R Models should have some choices. And many more choices at that. But should not be allowed to have specific modules like repair, med station, storage, or crafting stations ( I think it's an exploit personally that a 5k droid can have a better crafting station than the one sitting in town).Droids should not have storage modules, sorry. but being able to put a factory crate in a MSE droid is just not logical. Maybe all should have a small, i mean SMALL compartment to hold a battery or 2 but that is it. So, my answer is yes to both.

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

No. Module levels should be removed. No one wants low level modules. take out module levels and add more functional models.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

Single biggest wish without a doubt is that MDE can no longer put 110 med, Food/Chem station, 10 item storage, 110 data, and lvl 6 armor in an Advanced MSE. It's no bigger than my shoe and has more than my house built in. I don't even stock droids on vendor other than BH droids and batteries. Everyone wants custom modules and wants to see what the modules look like. That won't matter if droids are model/module specific.

1) Would the ablity to add Combat Modules be acceptable for the following droids?

  1. MSE Yes, like idea of MSE bomb.
  2. R-Series Droids Yes, limited melee only
  3. Treadwell Absolutely NO
  4. Power Droid No, but like idea of EMP burst to sabotauge other droids, whatch out cld effect own group
  5. LE Repair Droid Yes, but very limited blaster or sabotauge other droids, vehicles ect.
  6. Surgical Droid Yes, but very limited blaster or melee poison
  7. Protocol Droid Yes, but very limited blaster and personalities wld effect how well they fought
  8. Binary Load Lifter No

But really combat modules would not be nescesary if we could makea REAL combat droid. i.e. Probots are weak and if i recall they were supposed to be.

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)
  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

Combination of both please. Thats what droids need is more specialty functions, although I thnk all droids should have some lvl of general capabilities. i.e Droids designed for specific jobs do them much much betterthan ones that were not. Each droid should have its advantages and disadvantages to make it more profession specific therein creating a market for every type of droid. I think this question is a little confusing cuz i thnk what ur saying is droids wld have specific functions modules could beaddedto make them better at what they do. Is that what ur asking?

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

Yes, this wld add a market for lower lvl modules, whereas now everyone wants the best u got. If the MSE droid cld only have lvl 1 inventory (which makes much more sense then lvl 6) and there was some specialty function that made a MSE droid desireable (e.g. only counts as 1/2 of a droid in data pad), lvl 1 inventroy mods might actually get made and sold.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

My wish would be that each droid had a specialty function that could not be perfromed by any other droid. This wouldcreate a market for each droid. These funcitons could also be profession specific (e.g. R2's give bonuses to crafting, medicaldroids not only allow better healing in the field but passively heal group members over time, repair droids give bonuse to reparing everything, treadwells give bonuses to floral farms, power droids cld be used as personal shield generators when not powering other droids) LETS GET CREATIVE, THE POSSIBILITIES R ENDLESS!! Why not make some droids faction specific? (i thought probots were an imperial droid) Oh and also better faction specific combat droids please.
