1) Would the ablity to add Combat Modules be acceptable for the following droids?

  1. MSE
  2. R-Series Droids
  3. Treadwell
  4. Power Droid
  5. LE Repair Droid
  6. Surgical Droid
  7. Protocol Droid
  8. Binary Load Lifter

Yes, but with small damage. Without the module, they would just run away.

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)
  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

A combination of both. Not all droids need a specific purpose, and droid/module combos should be the same for at least two droids (just for variety).

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

Yes.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

Thateveryone else's current 'Wish List' items get in. There's just too many to pick one.

  1. MSE Maybe

  2. R-Series Droids Yes

  3. Treadwell Yes

  4. Power Droid No

  5. LE Repair Droid No

  6. Surgical Droid No

  7. Protocol Droid No

  8. Binary Load Lifter No

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)

  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

My preference is for each droid to have a specific purpose, but also have one module slot

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

Yes

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

My biggest wish list item is for droids to be more unique - currently they are the same things in different skins. Whether the variation comes from experimentation actually working or through the droids each having specific functions, I'd like for droids to be different from one another.

1) Would the ablity to add Combat Modules be acceptable for the following droids?

  1. MSE - Onlyin aremote bomb kind of way
  2. R-Series Droids - Possibly a weak stun weapon that works at melee range (ala R2D2 inRotJ)
  3. Treadwell - Possibly a weak melee knife attack
  4. Power Droid - No
  5. LE Repair Droid - Yes
  6. Surgical Droid - Yes
  7. Protocol Droid - Yes
  8. Binary Load Lifter - Yes (slow but powerful melee attack)

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)
  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

  3. Both. Except droids built with a specfic purpose should: a.Be better at it than a droid with a module in it and b.Possibly have some added funtion. eg: The Surigical Droid provides a better healing bonus than a module and would allow healing outside the hospital, where as a module would not.

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed) Yes

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item? One??? Jees ok, that DE dosen't become all about combat droids (sure I want them, but I dont want the devs to forget the other uses for droids as workers and utilities).

On item #1. yes.

On item #2. droid/module combo

On item #3. no limitations

On item #4. more droids and more functionality. increase functionality of the existing droids we can make. eliminate the general socket module bug. make the BLL do something cool we haven't thought of yet.

Well since I'm at 1/4/0/4 of the DE tree I should get involved.

1) Would the ablity to add Combat Modules be acceptable for the following droids?

  1. MSE - NO
  2. R-Series Droids - Yes (but low level ones)
  3. Treadwell - No
  4. Power Droid - No
  5. LE Repair Droid - No
  6. Surgical Droid - No
  7. Protocol Droid - Yes(they have hands why not be able to hold a blaster)
  8. Binary Load Lifter - Yes(this is a scary looking droid kind of looks like it should have a weapon)

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids) I'm leaning this way. I was never a big fan of making any droid a jack of all trades. In the movies it always seemed that each kind of droid had it's own job to do.
  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed) - Yes(this would get rid of the MSE with a lvl 6 med mod being as good as a R3 with the same mod)

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

I have always said I just want droid people want to buy. So my wish is to fix the bugs in the DE skill tree and then see what happens after that.

That reminds me, on item 2.

I wouldn't mind if Astromechs were a jack of all trades (NOT combat) since that's the sort of general purpose feeling I got from observing them. But I doubt that they would make as good a medic as a dedicated Surgical droid.

And it makes sense that Astromechs and Repair droids, including Treadwells since they're repair/maint/utility droids, would also make good crafting droids.

And as I said, makes sense that a Surgical droid would also be able to craft medical supplies (chem).

Otherwise, I'd prefer to see the more specialized droids perform functions that pertained more to their duties.

And NO combat.

(can't stress that enough)

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Answer to question 1:

Yes, for all chassis, with the stipulation that there be some sanity to the setup. I.e., some system, that balances things so that the maximum possible combat abilities of the smaller droids remain fairly low when compared agains the best one can do with the larger, more expensive droids. One conceivable way of accomplishing that would be to have the final HAM be primarily a function of the chassis, so that, for example,no matter how beefed up the MSE is, it will still be a push over in terms of the HAM. If allowing combat modules for all droids means no meaningful differentiation between the MSE and the R4, for example, other than looks, then my answer is NO for most chassis.

Answer to question number 2: this question is not clear. my answer is that I cannot answer this question because the two options you propose are not clearly differentiated.

Answer to question number 3: probably, but maybe not. it really depends upon the details of how significant the changes to the current module system are. there are balancing issues to consider here. if the MSE can only take level X modules, then training down the path that increases the level of the modules is pointless if you don't train down the path that allows access to blueprints in parallel. this ends up locking a player into a situation where you have to train the skill trees in a certain order in order to progress in ones abilities in the profession, and tieing different skill trees together in such a way is something that should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. the important thing is clear differentiation between the droids one can make with the different chassis. if the only way to do that is to cap the module levels for a specific chassis, then oh well, do it. but I suspect there are better ways to achieve that objective.

Answer to question number 4: that non-combatuses for droidsbe just as prevalent andeffective as combat uses for droids, now and forever.

None in my book; maybe a super modified protocol. I heard there's one in one of the movies -- with large eyes.

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)

  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)\

Both. I think some droids body types should have innate abilities but these should still accept modules within reason. SIngle-purpose droids are only cool if we can have more than five in the datapad and call them out more than one at a time.

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)

No, big time. As I've stated before, doing so guts the market for the lower end droids. When was the last time any of you, besides a starving Novice DE, sold an MSE droid at 55 med rating? And if you did, how does that compare to the number of times people have instested on 110 med rating? Level limitations on droids accomplishes two things: 1) it gives us less droids to sell because most people want the max lvl for whatever droid they chooce and 2) cuts down customer choice in body types. Some people may think the WED Treadwell is cool looking, but they're not gonna go for it if it only stores 6 and not 10 items. I think the profession needs less limitations, not more.

Do NOT turn us into a combat class and drop all this stupid "DE Only" combat modules crap. If they want to give us combat droids then give us new models, not lash blasters onto our existing frames with duct-tape.

Droids have more purpose in the non combat realm. Not crafting stations, but other functions that make them useful. Players should be able to have several non-combat droids called out at one time.

1) Would the ablity to add Combat Modules be acceptable for the following droids?

  1. MSE - a bomb, not overly powerful, its a small chassis.

  2. R-Series Droids - light stun weapon, like the shock prod from the movies

  3. Treadwell - no

  4. Power Droid - no, except perhaps as a BIG bomb, overload that Power Core, or drain other droids power charge..

  5. LE Repair Droid - no

  6. Surgical Droid - no unless its disease attack

  7. Protocol Droid - no

  8. Binary Load Lifter - Yes replace the flapjacks with large gun mounts, its too slow for melee.

2) Which would you prefer?

  1. Each Droidto havea specific purpose ( I.e. Power Droids power other droids)

  2. Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)

1. With the ability to call out more than one droid at a time and a purpose is found for the many that have none, but only if I can have more than 5 droids in my data pad. .

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed) Yeslimits, the "Uber MSE" is symbolic of all that is wrong with our profession.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?

Droids that work and have a purpose in the GCW, and more than one at a time...need I say Combat Droids....Real combat droids. Roger-Rogers! I'd rather have a few(multiple) roger- rogers folllowing me around then even a Droideka. (Im just odd that way)

1) Would the ablity to add Combat Modules be acceptable for the following droids?
YES. There's no reason not to add combat capability to any droid. This kind of flexibility is EXACTLY what our profession needs.

2) Which would you prefer?

Droid/Module Combos (I.e. LE Repair Droid/Repair Module = Repair Droid white bar damage)
Again, the more custom our craft, the better. We can always make a standard repair droid. But to be able to custom craft a repair droid that also has a medical module, or a combat module, that's the true Engineer part of our profession.

3) Do you want level limitaions placed on each droid? (I.e. MSE Droids can only have X Level Modules installed)
NO.

4) What is your single biggest 'Wish List' Item?
If there is a Player Character skill, there should be a module to install in a droid to support it. (Slicing, Entertaining, Hunting, Harvesting, Surveying, etc., etc., etc.).
