Agreed. If you are picked above all of us that applied, it'll be a great choice!
And its good to see all the old DE's coming out to apply. Shows the profession still has a solid base of venerable members!

I'm undecided. There should be debates so I know where the candidates stand on the issues... Stuff like the economy, combat droids, medicare modules, and droid family values...
Lol, that would actually be funny.
But you guys feel the position HAS to be filled. So we will end up wasting the next 4 or 5 DE Correspondents by letting them burn themselves out smashing their heads against the wall.
For my two cents, I say just leave it vacant and save these good DE Correspondent canidates for later when they can make a difference.
I'm done and have nothing more to say. One star away...
I personally think this a great opportunity for Droid Engineers, as SOE has announced the staffing of new developers specifically for non-combat professions. I am hopeful that long-standing bugs (let me name my Protocol!) and new features (let me call 2 droids!) can be a part of these plans. The upcoming CURB is another chance we have at sneaking in some combat droids (or at least redefining how droids can be used in combat).
Many of you may not immediately recognize me as a voice for the DE community, as most of my epic posts came when droids were utterly scrap heaps of nothingness in the SWG world (and permadeath was the big issue). Much has changed for the better for our profession, and I have been happy to defer to the in-depth posts that TK and Drashk have put forward in their tenure. My work during that time has focused on the development of my business as one of the largest droid sellers, if not the largest, on Ahazi (
If I were to be chosen as correspondent, I’d like to balance the education of Devs to DE issues with the education of DEs about how to grow business and educate customers. I think that Drashk’s focus on TC to give DEs a heads-up on upcoming changes is an excellent model, and that using the example of his and TK’s issue threads is an important tool to brainstorm changes we’d like to see and priorities we have in those changes.

The way I see it, if no one tries we're guaranteed nothing will get done and our voices won't be heard. On the other hand, if someone does try, there is a chance... Odds and probability don't matter. That aside, there are things currently going on that involve DE's. DE's need to have a strong voice in the upcomming CU, unless you would like our combat droids to get the shaft. DE's also need to have a strong voice in the GCW revamp, unless you'd rather not see faction specific droids, and most importantly DE's need to have a strong voice in the fixing of bugs, which they've already said they'll be doing more of since they've got a larger team...
Let me make two predictions:
1. The CU is going to proceed on its path regardless. Our combat droids will get the shaft or the best we can hope for its that they are left the way they are now and make it through the CU unchanged. Because if they change them at all, it will be to nerf them even more.
2. The GCW revamp will happen and we won't get faction specific droids. The GCW revamp will be such another major publish that some things will have to fall off the plate. You can count on any droid wish list items landing on the floor and falling through the cracks.
That strong voice your refering to will have no effect no matter how loudly it shouts. There's nobody listening. They can't. There too busy with other stuff and we won't get to the top of their queue again for a very long time.
You guys need a reality check.

AS,
I strongly disagree with this mindset. Right now we have a VERY strong team over on the CU. There are 6 of us who will not stand idly by while Droids are overlooked. Droids are used in fighting, they must be balanced as well. You need to trust that we will fight to ensure nothing "wrong" will happen to Droids. Now don't get me wrong, it's possible that at some point, changes "may" be made that we may not like. However, if those changes are made, they are for the overall health of the game and balance in general. We are there to discuss all such changes and ways to avoid negatives, maybe even work in some positives.
