Heh, well when TK was picked....he was nominated unanimously. Not exactly a great example of how the system works.

We definitly need a Correspondant, the best that we can put forward. Design is slow and takes a long long time. We need to have them thinking about Droids in the very infancy of their new ideas. When development is half done, it is to late.
Now is when it is most important.

I think I took a wrong turn and ended up here, but this caught my eye. I wouldn't consider having someone apply for the position at a "quiet" period a waste, because most corrs I've seen quit for the following reasons:
- got tired of SWG, then corr or no corr they're leaving anyway.
- personal stuff, same as above
- tired after period of hard work and step down but remain in place, but if it's quiet then there's nothing to do.
I can't think of anyone off the top of my head that left when none of the above were true, and it's probably not as common as people think. therefore (yes I actually had a point
) if you feel that you're qualified and have good rapport with your community, go for it 
communication can be slow, but the job isn't *too* bad at least you won't have to worry about your forum ranking ever again

Player Correspondent Opening: Droid Engineer
- Are you knowledgeable about the Droid Engineer profession?
- Are you a community leader?
- Can you objectively identify relevant issues and distinguish them from simply passionate arguments?
- Do you like organizing information and corresponding with other members of a community?
The Development Team is looking for a volunteer correspondent for the Droid EngineerProfession. Participation is completely voluntary and you can stop helping out at any time. We’re just looking for someone who can help us sort through the various issues for this profession.
Some things that you need to consider when applying:
- Developing online games takes a long time. Results happen with long time involvement.
- Player Correspondents should be leaders in their community and set a positive tone
- Player Correspondents should understand the technical aspects of playing the profession and the needs of their community.
- Player Correspondents should be in touch with the communities concerns, understanding the essence of why players pursue their chosen profession.
Please include your forum name in the letter
If this is something you are interested in, please write a short paragraph on why you think you would be a good candidate and email it to [email protected]. Please put Droid Engineer Correspondent in the Subject Line. By submitting this email to us, you agree to allow us to contact you in connection with Star Wars Galaxies and agree that all correspondence with and material submitted to SOE will be the exclusive property of SOE and SOE may use such materials without limitation and in its sole discretion.
After we have reviewed the submissions, we will pick one person to be our correspondent. We will set them up with a special community title here on the forums and ask them to help highlight for us the relevant issues relating to this profession.
We will still continue to monitor the forums and read as many threads as we can. The correspondent is just to help us focus on the top issues and community concerns of the profession.

I did put in my application, and am glad that I've still got some support around here. I know I've been away from these boards lately, mainly to work on the Tarquinas community boards (and the DE boards have been slow anyway)... I'm ready to jump back in full swing again though.

I have Been a DE for over a year now
but do not have the time to put in that i think the Correspondent sould do.
So i will support and help who ever is the next DE Correspondent
