Respectfully,
An excellent summation of DE issues... kudos!
I guess they are listening... since many of the bug issues seem to be addessed in the Droid Invasion publish.
One thing I'd love to see (expressed by others I know, but I had a specific vision):
How about this: Automated (insert regular harvester name here)
These harvesters would operate just like their unautomated counterparts, except when power/money/resource runs out it can be set to redeed itself and deliver itself (the deed) and the resources to the owner's declared residence, or perhaps their declared bank? The components needed for building these harvesters wouldn't be any different from the standard models with the addition that they would also require a Binary Load Lifter ADV Chassis. (Finally giving them some real use.) While we're on the subject of useless droid models... perhaps there could be Automated Personal harvesters that are the same as their bigger (Medium and Heavy) counterparts but require Treadwell droids instead of BLLs.
Terrak Nor - Master DE/Arch (Eclipse)
I think that I'm the first one to say this but... I really loved the first trilogy, I hated the 1st episode and didn't like too much the 2nd.
Droids in the original trilogy where way cooler than all those combat droids in the new one. You want combat droids? Get someone to make a Judge Dredd MORPG and drop in some ABC warriors (I'm not talking about the movie but the comics). The point in Star Wars was that the PERSON, either be it a human, a droid or any alien being could stand in front of the impersonal Empire. If we get people going around with droid armies all the Start Wars feeling in this game will be gone. As hordes of people with Kimogilas and Rancors are doing just now! Stop it before it's too late! Stop the CHs and their evil minions that want to turn us into metal versions of them. Is the DE profession not combat worthy? YES. The question is, would you like the guy that repairs your car or your tv set to be able to take on a Navy Seal? I vote for efficient Combat droids available, and some pets too. Think of them as bodyguards (Eficcient ones, not to take a Rancor solo, but not getting pushed around by mites). And nerf those damn CHs even more! If they wanna fight, let 'em dirty their own hands Star Wars stile!!! Go in there with a blaster and run in front of all those Stormtroopers!!!

But please retain some common sense! I agree with surveying, hopper collecting and demolition/building modules and the likes.
But a targeting module for marksmen? What's so droidy about that one? That should at best be a tool (that might be craftable by DEs) but it certainly isn't sensible as a droid module.
Keep in mind what a droid is all about: independently doing more or less boring and repetitive tasks or to assist in difficult tasks like surgery.
I do agree to combat capable droids but why one should build droids that enhance combat skills of the user is incomprehensible to me. It sounds like total over-kill and powergaming/skillmaxing to me.
Oh and by the way: someone mentioned modules to enable a dancer/musician to perform outside the cantina. Well, they can perform but you don't get benefits - and a module that allows you to heal outside would seriously unbalance the game. So don't expect it to be done any time.
