Thread: I'm ready for my closeup, Mr. Developer! Today's the day...
Well let us sit down and think about TH post, so three day ago would be today if TH had post it on monday because today is the day but he did not post, if he post todaywewill betoday ( normal? ... ) but today isn t the day of the post so maybe tomorow will be the day of the post , so tommorow will be today as the day of post is today...
ARRRRHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
I find it fellow DE we are in a time warp !!! we will never leave the day before the DE post , scotty maximum power ! Spok find us a way out of this time warp !!!!
That's an interesting theory. Given the recent changes, this has some validity.

I'd say that we are in more of a "Groundhog Day"-type, time 'cycle'...caused by a temperal loop/flux in the time/space continuum.
Perhaps, if I go back and repost the thread yesterday, we'll catch up...and today actually WILL be the day.
Hmmm...

Particle-physically,
We're still reading the same thread that I posted today (now yesterday).

Spooky-acting-at-a-distance,
If you are really expecting to here somthing profound let me translate our new leaders post below for you:
DO NOT QUOTE ME ON IT, but TH should be posting patch notes tomorrow. It may not be exactly what everyone was hoping for, but there are a number of issues getting some attention.
I'm doing the best of my ability to steer the future of droids and our profession into the right direction.
It definately shows they dont have a freekin clue what any of us as said in the past 5 months, BUT although i really cant believe they have been so freekin clueless i will take this new job and new found knowledge a bottle of jack daniels and contemplate wether elvis really does live. Although none of the issues they are adressing are anything that we have suggested they are actually using the name droid in the patch notes.
This is not meant as a slam Dra, its just the very basic truth of what we have seen to point.
Also if you look at the history of fixing things please do not fault the developers they are definatly living up to there abilities, And doing there best. The true question should be what are those abilities hopfully the best is yet to come

I bet what they are thinking is something like this:
See...that's the difference. I'm betting they are NOT thinking. That's my point.
"Lets just say NOTHING until we have something "good" to tell them. They will complain and gripe about us not saying anything, but when we finally give them some information, they will love us."
In a way, that may be true. However, by staying silent on the myriad of in-game issues (not the least of which is the CS experiences we all deal with) is that by the time they come back to give out that info, people like me will be gone. We were always told (for years, in fact) that the community would have a level of involvement in building the 'game'. For a VERY short time, that might have been the case, since we were able to discuss/engage the red-names with issues, etc.
That time, however, seems to be now over (and shows no sign of ever returning).
About 3 months ago this may have been the case. 3 months ago I bet all of us would have lavished praise and adoration upon the Devs if they had done anything to fix us. But now it has gone on too long for this strategy. Now we are all pissed-off. No matter what they do, no matter how significant and awesome the "Droid Invasion" is, we will still flip them the bird.
I won't do that. I'll just shake my head in utter confusion and hit the "Cancel" button.
However, what they add/update is NOT the point. The point is that we do not get sufficient quality or quantity of posts to discuss/engage the community.
If they wanted to be better at building the community feeling in the game, staying silent on the boards is one of the best things they could have chosen to show us that they feel exactly the opposite of that goal.
"Thanks ---holes" will be the mantra of DE. Because it took too **edit**ing long, and you just KNOW it will bear little resemblance to anything we actually wanted. So the whole strategy of ignoring us ON PURPOSE until they post something (they consider to be) significant is NOT WORKING.
I'm not sure that they ignored us...there's a difference. The didn't actively ENGAGE us by discussion and open, constructive debate on how best to shape the future.
The fact that we outnumber them?
Not as much of an issue. They STILL have the ability to type/post threads and stick around to actually engage the community. Anything else is just lip-service to the term "communication"
But I sincerely hope they prove me wrong. Heck, I hope they do ANYTHING, as that will be more than they are doing now. Remember Developers:
YOU ARE DOING NOTHING UNLESS THE POPULATION KNOWS SPECIFICALLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND SEE'S MEASURABLE PROGRESS...
Let me say that last part again:
WE HAVE TO SEE MEASURABLE PROGRESS...
Not hollow words, we have to see things in-game happening. Ifthe "progress" you refer to is only manifestedon these forums, it is officially classified as NOTHING. IT DOES NOT EXIST UNTIL WE SEE IT.
Yes...this is partly what I mean. Their non-presence on the boards (due to lack of quality of posts and lack of posts in general) leads to the impression, if not the fact, that we are not being engaged.
Respectfully,
The problem with them keeping silent is that is how they did the first go round and you see what they came up with after months and months of input.
The second issue i have is that our new corr wasnt overly thrilled as aparent by his post as to not set expectations to hi.
Frankly that really concerns me as pretty much anything would be a good thing at this point, so is another major flop about to be unveiled.
We were promised better community relations after there last flop, what happened the old coro quit the game. RED FLAG.
And have communications been any better at all?
Have they lived up to one single promise made to date yet?
So yes tk im with you on this, i have an intial year that i payed but this will definately dictate wether i cancel and live out my days to the end of my term.
I am disappointed in all the promises made by thunder as well as the minimal amount of responses by the development team here.
I am looking forward to writing a retraction when these changes are posted but frankly i doubt that will happen.
Usually no info is good info, in this case i fear its just that nothing to really say.
Does anyone else find it convienient that community discussion board was shut down right before this announcment????
I would say best regards buti feer when i bow to do it i may come up with more then i went down with.
I am excited and eager to be part of the continuing development process. It's wonderful that the developers not only look to the community to effectively communicate the wants and needs of the players, but also that they are so eager to work with us to make critical decisions that will affect the gameplay in a severe manner. The developers have shown themselves to be readily accessible to answer our concerns and ponder our input, and have not at any time put the paying customers on the back burner over critical issues. The developers have clearly made communication their top priority, as they have promised, and the community has been stronger as a result.
One of these posts is not like the others, one of these posts just doesn't belong....
