But Jenden..how can you say its not 'that much more expensive'..it looks more expensive to me by quite a bit. Please explain your thinking here
Thanks
Its not too heavy on the resources as was mentioned (don't have the numbers on me but I think its somewhere total around 100 resources) and droid brains aren't something that I'm ever really short on. I generally have a good 1000 of them laying around at any time. This will just add 2 factory runs a week or so to my schedule (figure one for the combat modules and one to replenish the brains), so its not really any more expensive time-wise. It could be a pain in the ass if they are 240s timers like drashk said, but I can deal with that.
Jenden, I see your logic, but as always your logic is based only on your own gameplay and style (not to mention vast experience and resource stockholding.
Please consider other styles of gameplay, the people who craft droids individually to custom orders..which is in fact the majority of DE, even if some of them do use some crated subcomponents.
In this case, as Audio says, Time and Cost are significant - not everyone is a heavy industrialist eh?
I'm a "heavy industrialist", and I *STILL* agree.
It breaks down like this :
1) People who do low volume custom orders of Probots are going to be making20 parts instead of 9. That's going to more than double their crafting time/effort.
2) People who do large runs of factory droids are going to be spending much more time shifting inventory and running their factories, especially with the 240 time of the new modules. This means I have to coordinate 19 seperate factory runs instead of 9, since in order to make more than 200 droids at once you will have to do seperate runs of serial numbered droid brains.
I don't even see this going well for the middle of the line crafter in respect to components - a crate of 25 droid brains is going to last for 4 droids just for the combat modules. And then you have to construct each and every one of them into a combat module, and half of those again into "combat clusters", making them components with subscomponents that have subscomponents...
It doesn't matter if you agree with the large increase or not, but it's undeniable that making a Probot just got to be a whole lot more work : 9 subcomponents is now 20. That's 9 waits for factories or crafting tool assembles that is now 20. If the stats remain this high it may be worth it, but if not that will be in question.

(edit:change 19 to 20, since I forgot about the additional assemble for the three modules into a combat cluster)

Thanks Jenden, a loot power up would be cool, maybe droped from the droidika's?
So now you advocate we are left in the hands of a combat profession to loot these items and sell them on to us eh?
Krayt Probots? Ye gods the price will be astronomical, and for what? A CL10 droid?
Nope, this is another Bad Idea (tm)
Thats what I think anyway.

It is just a simple question Shian, and the way the game mechanics work its not that far fetched.
Big difference between "far fetched" and "not desirable". ![]()
Although I'm up for looted schematics (LOL anyone remember how long the rumors lasted about a Droideka one already in-game, LOL?), I'm not up for looted components.
While that may limit how useful the schematics are, it's one thing to do a quest or even have to hire a group to do a quest to get the final reward of a schematic (the new vehicle schematic on the Corellian Corvette is a great example), having to endlessly randomly loot MOBS for components (like the Genosian Cave) is not fun at all for the vast majority of players.
A really cool schematic would be for enhanced modules, like "item storage 7" that holds a few more items or a schematic for a cluster module that can hold an extra slot.

What about the Armor tho?? That was the Probots main strength, medium armor 40%, you say it's borked, but how? Is it still medium armor and what %s are possible?
The old ones that had Medium Armor, 40% resists now have NO Armor ...and 40% resists.
My standard probot with 1 lvl 1 module has 15% resists. We're still waiting on a response about what the deal is overall.

I've been polling my server ... and not ONE person has expressed interest in these 'upgraded' probots. *sigh*
I am sure I will sell some - I already sell Probots at a pretty good clip (5-10 a day, every few days selling a crate at a time as well), and think this will increase it.
But these are not the droids that a lot of people expect - and it's going to be a hard sell to people who don't already use them (i.e. very low level people and crafters who just want a tank so they can run away when tending harvesters).
