...the max rating of a mouse droid is 40 (two level 10's plus the bonus +10 to each), the max rating of all other droids is just the number of modules it can hold * 10 (since each module can be a max of 10 and you get no bonus).
This appears to be exactly the case. I'd use this as a rule to go on, for now...

Jenden,
What OQ is the Tolium gas you are using?

I want to say around 600-700... not positive though. Its a pretty linear progression, maxes out at +10 (so 80% modules would be +8).

Thanks. Is it worth it to put armor modules in these as well?

All depends... If your going after NPC's you won't need armor, they don't attackit unless it attacks them. If your going after other players, armor would help if they try and take it down, but if they run your screwed (and in order to make the armor worthwhile, you'd need to put it on something like an R3, which is pretty expensive). Only real useful time for armor is if you want to take down NPC's at a faction base with turrets (since turrets will attack the droid if you are overt), then a fully loaded R3 with armor (you could also do probot or R2 and it would work, R3 would do the most damage though and isn't that much more expesive) would do the trick.
You have to remember, most of the time these will be mouse droids, and armor really doesn't matter when you've only got 40 HAM...

I am a little disappointed about the Detonation module being available at Master DE.
I am a novice DE and I like playing as a DE. I want to play the role of a real DE, Not grind my way to Master, building small SALEBLE droids to advance. The detonation module would be perfect at lower levels. The novice DE could sell some one-shot exploding MSE droids and master could build a big super nova droid.
I think Novice should get xp crafting cheap consumable and Master should be crafting expensive permanent droids for all professions.
But I think I am the only one thinking like that
Bettosh Novice DE, Gorath
I would agree with you completely if the game was not filled with HOLO Grinders. It's too easy for any and everybody to hit novice DE in a heartbeat, and then where would your/my market be?
I actually think another good choice for these would be the LE repair droids. not fast, not small, but have very high HAM so they can take some hits. It would be a riot if the devs added a tiny bit more Conversation droid love into an Exploding LE:
"message for you sir!- KA-BOOOM"

I'm not sure how great LE's would do... they have a lower maximum rating than mouse droids, if you send them after a player they can just run away (and theres no way the LE will be able to follow), and if you send them after something near a faction turret the slower speed would probably about even out with the higher HAM (the LE would take more hits than an R-unit, so the higher HAM wouldn't really do much). Nothing else is going to shoot at it or attack it (unless the LE attacks).
A little surprised no one has brought this up in three pages and a little surprised I would be advocating something to enhance DE combat abilities but:
What about adding DE to the list of people who can make the droid detonate? While I can understand the limits on many of the other new modules it seems to me like it should be within the abilities of a DE to issue a detonation command.

Please don't laugh.
Have the det modules been tested in any other non-combat capable droid chassis yet besides the MSE droid? Such as, say, the surgical droid and protocol droid?
Perhaps the +10 per module is because it went into a general slot, instead of a combat module slot. Just a thought.
Plus, the visual of a protocol droid exploding just makes me laugh. (shades of System Shock II)
