Now you are putting yourself back into the role of proposing that we set out to do drashk's job for him. He has been trying to pull the common thread out of the rambling on this board and has been doing so quite successfully I think. If that's your only goal then I say step back and let Drashk do his job. Short-circuiting Drashk in an effort todefine theunified voice, when he is already moving well towards thatgoal,will do nothing other than create confusion.

If the problem is thatthe correspondentisn't heard, as you are also saying, then that is a different issue.That problemis not because we don't have a unified voice. It's because the voice is not taken seriously.

I mean consider the whole DH/DC issue that came up recently. It was patently clear to anyone who'd read even a small portion of the content of the boards that DH/DC was the last thing that the community wanted as a whole. Not one of the stickied threads listing the issues and desires for the profession even mentioned it. The mere fact that the Dev team made that proposal demonstrates that they were not the least bit aware of what the community was really saying at all. It demonstrates that they weren'treally aware ofthe content of the stickied threads (where there is very little dissension), let alone the many un-stickied threads (which is where the dissension is found).

In other words, it couldn't have been our disagreements that led them down that path, because the fact that they went down that path demonstrates that they weren't even familiar with the things the community did agree upon. Clearly, its a listening problem if you ask me.

That said, I see value in an effort that pushes alternative avenues of cummunication (letter writing, for example). I just don't see any value in systematically setting out to do Drashk's job for him, when it's clear he is doing a good job of it all by himself.

Yeah. I don't mean to be too harsh on TH. I don't know how he is when he speaks about other professions, but whenever he speaks about droids, he always sticks his foot in his mouth. Looking over the net sum of everything he's said about DE since I started playing, the only consistent message I've been able to pull out of it all is that he appears to havevery littleunderstanding of what he is actually talking about whenever he speaks in any detail about this profession. Maybe he does understand, but that's not the message I received, fwiw.

I have to view his words in that light.
