Thread: Droid Module Focus (Stimpack Dispensor): Information, discussion and bug-reporting (04/14/04)
Yes, unfortunatly during combat the droid must be targeted for /requestStimpack to work. Yea, I realize that's not good. TK and I were discussing this the other night and trying to figure out implementable "work-arounds" for the devs. Consider this topic a "work in progress."

question:
does the droid have to be targeted to use the command?
If it doesn't what is the effect of having a group of say 5 people with 5 droids?
does the 1 command activate all droids so you get a heal from all of them? i.e. 5 x 80 = 400 heal!
the droid doesn't have to be targeted I believe, I'll have to try multiple droids, could be interesting...

Does the command to get 'stimmed' go into the combat queue? And if so, what happens if you have 5-6 attacks in the queue, you target the droid and ask for a stim, then focus on your target, will the droid still give you a stim even if it isn't targeted when the command in the combat queue comes 'into play'
I mean with normal personal heal you sometimes get a 'Target must be a player or a pet blah blah' so the stim wont work until you target yourself or someone on your 'friendside'
Right on....
What happens with there's 5 unnamable Surgicial droids, for example, in the group? The macro has no way of knowing which of the 5 in your group you intended to target.
This is a sticky wicket issue right now...one that I don't think will get addressed before the publish.

Which is why i try to keep sales of personality droids on the low down ![]()
yes, of course they would have to target the droid. cant risk the droid being useful. This is almost as good as using a radial menu to target with turrets.

Getting more and more angry with every review of what the new modules do.

OK, little clarification here, please.
Does this mean that as the owner/doctor in the group I'd be able to send the droid to heal someone in my group? If so what about people not in my group? And if there is a heal-other command on the droid, then what heppens if your heal-other and use your own name as the target?
At any rate, I'm really liking the general idea here. The only 2 things I can see improvement on is being able to direct my droid to heal somone else and the ability to use Stim A+... darn shame too since I just did a big guild quest to collect up A+ schemsThey will all be sorely disapointed. I can understand not puting medics out of work, but I cant see how the extra 50 healed damage (even over time) would be significantly impacting on combat... especially when the Atim A+ is a limited schematic. (though 50pts at 2 second intervals... wel yeah, that adds up).

Well, I think you're misunderstanding the use. If this droid is out and the doc isn't paying attention or has to take care of someone else first, the droid can be used as a temporary solution until the doc gets there. It's better that it be independant of the doc (meaning the doc doesn't have to give the instruction for the droid to heal) and can concentrate on useing more powerfull stims on those that need it. It would be counter productive for a doc to have to use a droid to heal someone else when they could do it themselves and at higher power.
Oh not at all, actually. As a master doc and usually the one healing in the party, being able to stand in the background and heal / direct the droid at the same time, I'd be effectivly healing more then one person at a time. Not to mention lowering the need for camp healing and the drain on my poor wits as I have to suck all my mind away for healing but dont dare to take my helm off lol.
But, ok.. so we wont be able to direct the droid.. hrmm.. hopefully that might be something they will let medics do in the future *shrug*
(Still like to see A+'s get in there
