Btw how do you get that bracket bar comment on what the other person typed?? I only know copy paste,, and im guessing that is not right...

The Quote option is located right between the Strikeoption and the emoticons. Ithink these optionare only available with IE. When I was using a few of the other web browsers, I didn't see the quote option.

The fact that experimentation on a Data Module can increase the lvl of the data module is really annoying .... An experimented lvl 1 module easily becomes a lvl2 (Pilot certification lvl2) as the pilot client asks a lvl 1 module.

It comes from a good idea of giving us something from experimentation but ..... I think every one agree to remove this on data storage modules.

This is one of those features that is part of learning your profession. If Experimentation was removed from this module, what would be the reason to stop at only Data Modules? Why not remove the ability to experiment on Item Storage, Armor, Medical, and Structure Maintenance Modules? If we really want to push for removing experimentation on the Data Modules, then I suggest that we also remove the ability to stack them as well, since removing this ability will also have a pretty adverse effect on stacking. Of course, doing either or both of these things would completely disorient a lot of Droid Engineers that have been around for the last 10 - 16 months.

The tool bar order is....

Cut, Copy, Paste, Bold, Italics, Strike, Quote Post, Insert Smile, Insert Horizontal Line, Align Left, Align Center, Align Right, Out dent, In dent, Numbered List, and Unordered List.

Above that should be Font Name, Font Size, Change the Font Color, and Macros (if set up)

Many many thanks to TK and Drashk for this FAQ, I did try out Beta but got myself all twisted trying to work this stuff out. Good job you guys are here to help!!

Quick questions, mainly because I am certain I am missing something..

You can put any program onto an Unprogrammed Droid Command Module?

The level of the program you put on (Tier 1, 2, 3 etc) determines how much space it will occupy in the Flight Comp/ Data Module?

i.e.

If my question has been asked already I apologize.

I crafted a lvl 1 data storage module...its rating is a 3, I put into a R5 droid and the pilot's astromech certification is level 2...this I understand.

I then crafted a lvl 1 data storage module with a rating of 2, I put iinto a R5 droid and there is no pilot's astromech certification listed. What I see is storage module rating of 2. Is this a bug, and does thedroid have a pilot's astromech certification of 1 even though its not listed?

Any information would be very useful and appreciated.

Well TheRealTK421,

Since they stuck your post up on the main website I guess SOE likes your post too. Looks like we've found an answer to one of our problems, lack of droid knowledge. We just need to tweek the Droid 101 thread into data appropriate for posting on the main website and convince SOE to add a droid section.

Basic Idea
Start with a simple overview page that has links to:
Droid Chassis - Page describing droids frames and what they are for.
Droid Combat - How to use Droids in combat
Droid Crafting - How to craft Droids
Droid Crafting Modules - What crafting stations are available.
Droid JTL - The existing JTL Droid web page that they just put up
Droid Misc - List of other Droid Modules

The Droid Misc page could have a list and general description for each module with links to module specific pages.

This would make it easier for new people to learn about droids and be almost free advertisement.
Anybody see any problems or a way to make the idea better?

Very odd. I have not experienced this. Has this happened with more than one module, or was it a one-time thing?

OK, thank you all for the good info here!!!!

Now I have 2 questions:

1) Is there any difference in droids (R2-R5) in space use other than "coolness factor" IE: "I like the round dome on my Y-Wing then the blocky one"????

2) Now I know that a R2 can hold more modules in it (Up to about 5 right) anyways.....I know if you add 2 item storage modules, you are still limited to holding 10 items, and dont get double item storage...so there is no benefit to more item storages......Does this work the same with doubling up data storage modules in droids????? Can I get a R2 unit Level 3 (5-6 storage rating) and put like 3 data storage modules in it to get a total data capicity of 210?????

Thanks

Face

Nope. They're exactly the same functionally when used in a starship.

The max number of data a droid with a Data Module can hold is 150. This is true if it'sa single Data 6, or (2) Data 4's. It cannot be increased past this by including more modules, same as with Item Modules. They do stack to a degree, in that two lower ones can equal a higher one. This stops at (2) Data 4's however. Anything larger than (2) Data 4's is the same as a single Data 6.

Thanks

Face

Note that when stacking Data modules, it also increases the Pilot level needed to use it as an AstroMech. For example, if you use (2) Data 4's to achieve max data storage, you'll need Master Pilot (same as Data 6) to use it in a ship.

Maybe I've misread but are you guys saying that an imperial can use rebel programmed data chips?
Like if I wanted to be able to adjust the shields on my tie fighter I'd just have to find some rebel that would program the chips for me?

Exactly, anyone can have any program, so if an imperial pilot want rebel programs, he only have to ask a rebel pilot for the programs he need

then, a MAJOR WARNING while using those overload programs!

Every use of an overload program will damage the components targeted by the overload

If you overload you reactor, it will be damaged. If you overload your weapons, your capacitator will be damaged.

Which also mean you will have to repair it after a while.... Which means that your components will decay...
