Thread: FYI: Probot nerf
Titanten - Yes it does sound fair. You shouldnt have to build all the structural units and get all that ore and then sell it for less than the market value of the ore. Given that, perhaps thats an issue you Architects need to discuss
(I've been to your boards and see this as a reoccuring issue). Price fixing anyone?
Perhaps Price fixing is in order
for those wacko's selling a house for 6k ...buy it hehe then resell it for more.
(of course that would assume you were making any money to begin with).
Now aside from that there are some differences. for instance your small home takes the following to make:
1. Resource: 100 Metal
2. Resource: 200 Low Grade Ore
3. Resource: 200 Low Grade Ore
4. Component: 10 x Similar Structural Module (Novice Architect)
A. Resource: 10 x 50 = 500 Metal
B. Resource: 10 x 100 = 1000 Low Grade Ore
C. Resource: 10 x 100 = 1000 Low Grade Ore
5. Component: 1 x Light Power Core Unit (Novice Architect)
A. Resource: 1 x 15 = 15 Metal
B. Resource: 1 x 85 = 85 Metal
C. Resource: 1 x 18 = 18 Chemical
D. Resource: 1 x 60 = 60 Low Grade Ore
E. Resource: 1 x 50 = 50 Metal
F. Resource: 1 x 15 = 15 Metal
G. Resource: 1 x 15 = 15 Metal
6. Component: 1 x Small Structure Storage Module (Novice Architect)
A. Resource: 1 x 50 = 50 Steel
B. Resource: 1 x 80 = 80 Metal
Thats a total of ...
2460 Low Grade Ore
860 Metal
50 Steel
18 Chemical
Meaning you'd have to sell them for 27k (at 8.13 per)
You only have to collect 3 different types of resources, and only build 2 things then the main structure ... in the probot its 6 types of material and 10 subparts ....so there is a varying complexity with the droid. But I can understand your frustration as well.
Actually Im suprised I've yet to hear from the Bioengineers yet... as they have a bone to pick with the CH pets never dying (hehe perhaps there are any BE's left to complain)

I really hated this change, especially considering that I just hit Probots yesterday, but it may work out as VengBroma commented. Selling 5 Probots for 3,000 each is almost as good as 1 Probot for 15,000. Let just hopeit works out that way.
Slikey- I can see your point. There have been a few times when Im just sooooo frustrated with making pointless droids that I wish I had another usefull skill (whoops my bad ...A skill period). So that I could go out and see the lay of the land, perhaps bag some big game, then come back and craft again.
But I guess its just not in the cards ![]()

I want to say first off that I have been opposed to most of the nerfing going on.
I am happy to see a nerf I like. Think about it. A player buys a droid that lasts for a land dang time and then you don't have anyone to sell to. And they only buy one. Now they have to buy more to get the same effect.
I'd just like to see them fix the UXP for us so we can level up with the rest of other professions.
DarthRavell hehe you so crazy
You know you're going to want 2 or 3 "durni's with broken legs" I know you are ...

In general, I understand what you are saying, and agree with the interimchanges. But, I don't want to assume these things, but some of the things you say imply other things, and if you could clarify for me if these things are true:
You say that medic modules should now have a variable effect on wound healing depending on the quality of medical module is installed, does that mean that experimentation will work, or does that mean that level 1 and level 2 modules will now be different or both?
You said that a person can drag an item to their pet, does that mean still to the droid itself (the graphic) or to the inventory window? Does this also mean that storage and/or data modules will be functional (not on all droids, but just droids with the modules installed)? If the Data module works, and you want to help save our market (you mentioned band-aid solutions), will they be able to carry missions again? And, if you fixed the modules experimentation and/or levels, will they be able to carry more?
Any other specifics Ididn't mention?
Again, it sounds like some of the things you have said imply these things are going to be in place, but you did not specifically say them, and if you could confirm them, I'm sure everyone would appreciate it.
P.S.Any ETA on decisions for a DECorrespondant?
Heh. I hate to sound so negative, but I just want everyone to fully understand what this means!
I know that it sounds like the answer to the prayer for repeat business.
However, all the droid engineers I know are millionaires. They aren't hurting for business. However, that will change bigtime now that your droids have become completely disposable and only marginally useful. The R5 medical droid is now worth MUCH more than a probot, if only because it lasts a long time.
===============================
Do you really think you'll get 3000 credits for something that is
A) Weaker than a crazed durni with a broken leg
B) Not repairable with store/recall
C) Deathblown with the frequency of player characters, and insta-dies if incapped when you are?
I know they are saying this is a temporary fix, but I have a hard time believing the final solution will be much better.
================================
We don't know how effective they will be post-nerf. Really that is what we should be concerned about :
- For what price will we be able to sell these modified droids?
- How many more droids will we sell because the original was destroyed?
Alright, I've got a bad feeling about this too....

Hmm if they are exploitable isnt it better to fix the exploit than nerf the droid? (wont this exploit just turn up again with something else in the future?)
It turns up with all pets, but it's exacerbated with the prbot because anyone can use the probot, whereas the pet case is limited mostly to CHs.
I am not sure how else to band-aid the problem while we put in certs...?
Wasn't there something on the official site before stating that DEs would be able to make powerful and devastating droids?

All Droid Engineers you know are already millionaires and we're not even one month into the game?
I think that's exactly why this needed a nerf.
Keep up the good work, Devs.
