But seriously, I'm looking forward to the overview too, and I'm praying that our wonderful little community can react with a mature and constructive attitude regardless of what it contains. It's very possible to be positive and disagree at the same time, but too often we let the disagreement dictate our behavior.
Why the hell dose Thunderjoke save his longest posts for philosohpical quips on how people understand each other and work together blah blah blah.
This has nothing to do with me other than I buy driods, but its just another instance of how inept Thunderjoke is when it comes to communicating to the community.

Well, if we were in the same room having a conversation over a cup of coffee, it would be easier. We would have tone of voice, facial and body inflection and a lot more communicative context. Without the benefit of being able to see each other while we communicate, it makes things difficult and much harder to interpret.
Man...ain't that the truth. So much is lost on these boards in miscommunication and misunderstanding. I have to laugh pretty hard at people that think the Devs do anything to kill peoples' fun on purpose....like you all are rubbing your hands together and giggling wickedly.
It doesn't happen that way, folks.
In a positive environment, it makes it easier to communicate.
Well...I'd agree with this. To play devil's advocate a bit, the communication really does have to run both ways. A community that is positive and passionate can only be that way for so long in the absense of a response.
In that regard, I have to say that you guys have really picked up a TON and I'm very, very excited by what's on the plate.
I even started regrinding back to MDE last night (after finally finishing Master CM). I want to be ready when the 'funky droid goodness' starts to really roll our way.
There are a lot of posters who have really been trying hard lately - - Drashk has been really involved, TK421 and so many othersand I really appreciate it. We really appreciate it. It makes everyone's experience here more pleasant and more effective and that's really cool
Hehehehe...something tells me you're not sad to the see the "Break-down(tm)" posts go away.Even though I have a new and improved ('Now, with miracle whitener!!') attitude...I hope that some of my past break-down comments sank in. They were negative yes....but no less untrue.
Keep on keepin' the faith, TH. I'm there for ya.

I agree that it seems that TH is blaming the DE community.......... I don't think it was his intent.......... but as we all know TH is quite proficient(sp?) at being ambiguously cryptic
As to the blame game, well something happened that was not intended and then words got placed in peoples' mouths that never wrote such words. People will get far more upset by crediting to them a mistake they never made rather than simply stating a change was made that cause an unintended bug to happen. So when a mistake happens followed up by bad communication even more mistakes happen. It creates a situation where a lot of blame can be passed around. The reason behind why people blame in generalisn't relivent here, the reason why people felt the need to blame in this situation is.
Some code was change and had an unindentended consenquence that was not documented. We are all getting use to the lack of documentation, specially when you are a BE.
The point is this was a stealth nerf to all crafting stations and hence all those that craft and use crafted items. This was a small code change that has a huge impact on the game.
So a couple of questions, was the nerf indended?
If not, will the droid storage units be changed back at a later publish?

STOP posting crap! No one cares about your philosohpical views on life or anything about your life for that matter all people want from you at this point is honest information in reguards tothe game, their profession, where they are headed, what to expect, and why things are happing the way they are....
Hey now....you want to insult TH. do it in another post. He just gave us a little glance into what was going on while everyone was in a tiff. Give it a break already.
Have you ever worked in public relations? Most of the time you want to help the people screaming at you, but you can't because the information you're relaying is dependent on others.

It's so funny...I read the dev tracker almost every day. And in the last week, it seems like pretty much EVERY post by the devs is one in the DE forum trying to extinguish some pretty big flames. The posts aren't even about changes coming up, just reactions to inflammatory threads.
I still don't feel any clearer in this cacophony about what actually IS being done to fix DEs (exceptto scratch the DH profession, whichfrom the sound of things I was the only person in game that was actually interested in it), but I think it's pretty safe to say that at the very least you guys are getting some seriousattention.
Before I go, lets address this whole blame game thing.
When we talk about issues and changes to the game, lets stop looking at everything as "blame". No one here plays the blame game and niether should you. Successful teams never do. You debate the issues with the group, make a decision and act on it. Done. No bias. You commit and move with strength and with honor.
Blaming is a natural human response in an attempt to attribute responsibility for something perceived as unjust and threatening. When a situation is seen as threatening to us, our loved ones, our familyor other things that are related to our real life health and welfare we may experience fear, anger, betrayal and hurt. Blaming is an attempt to bring some control into a difficult situation that seems unacceptable and unfair. However, this is a virtual environment and when our hard work in game seems threatened, that natural reaction is transferred onto our daily expressions. Sometimes its even amplified if we're having a bad day at school or work or whatever.
There is nothing here that is a threat folks...
As a community, we need to act together as a team. To be a good team, we need to move past these ideas of threat and stabalize our community. We are not here to ruin the game or make your virutal lives miserable, we want to make a fun game for everyone. We're on a good path and making progress. The biggest challenge is the perception of change. This stuff happens in spurts. Its like any other kind of development: periods of waiting and planning followed by massive spurts of production in shorts amount of time.
We really need to focus on the good communication part while the development team is planning. We can put together good ideas and kick it around and discuss it and put a good plan together. That way when the right times, we can strike with well thought out requests that will enrich our gameplay experience.
In a negative environment, what happens is we all get side tracked in frantic side issues that are way off target and that doesnt serve anyone well. We'll get it done. We just need to keep this a fun and interesting place and in the process create a great game and a great community
*scurries off to finish*
TH,
Sometimes I don't think it is as much a case of looking for someone to blame as it is a lack of trust. The DE community lacks any reason to trust what TPTB says. It isn't that we have been lied to, but that there has been no follow through from our prospective. Yes, we know you all work hard and that you are doing everything you can and that changes and the dynamics of the game makes things pop up from time to time...but from our end all we see is talk and no action.
I'm not trying to be negative, but just to explain things from our end.
You want us to be more positive with you? Give us a reason to believe you.
I'm pretty sure I take exception to the comment that it was "against the better wishes of the devs" to make the upcoming course of changes to the DE profession etc. ?!?! I think it should have been Mandatory by Lucas before letting Any SOE employee work on this project ever..that they have to watch all the movies, perhaps several times.Have Artoo and Threepio come down to San Diego and kick butt tillsome peoplesee the "Droid LIght". Be worth the price of admission to see some attitudes get zapped with the cattle prod Artoo uses. Or let Kenny Baker run around and bite their ankles at least.
