Thread: Thunderheart Says, hang on - you guys are my first priority in the morning
There are droids still droids in this game?
I haven't seen one since they nerfed probots.

TH,
That being said, go work on DEs. Help us Thunderheart, you're our only hope.
No, there is another...
(ok...maybe not, but I could not resist)
"You folks are droin engineers - - surely you can appreciate the process of engineering a solution and moving through it step by step"
Yes we can. I think that's one of the reasons so many of us have lost faith in the SOE dev/management team.![]()
Where is TH's fabeled Post now?
Or is it that thread he made.... which is basicly the same crap we''ve been fed all 4 months..... asking what is wrong with our proffesion yet again.
They really should read more threads.
Ok wish list....
1.) More Battle Droids
2.) Worker Droids - Someone to do basic tasks like feed the meters
3.) Un-Nerf Probots
TH - Please ignore this thread and go about your work. Impatience is the flavor of the day here, and it's not worth your time to even read threads like this.My apologies to you folks voicing your outrage at the delay, but you've gotta be patient with the guy. We're not the only issue on the block -and isn't it better to have a well-though-out approach to solving our problems as opposed to something rushed that's just going to lead to more angst?
Also - TH, I'd like to add my voice to those that are telling you you're doing a find jobthus far. It's great to see that SOE has hired a competant individual (and fellow SWG gamer) to manage the community here on the forums. Your efforts are much appreciated!
TH, the "State of the Profession" was almostly completely and succinctly posted by Sintrosi last night (kudosto Sintrosi), the DE's have viewed it and are in 100% agreement. Giving a week to look at the post serves no purpose at all. There is no discussion to be had on that front, it's posted, we the DEs have viewed and "declare" it valid, whats left to discuss? The document is Done.....Next please!
No one is saying there's a magic bullet and waiting for the trigger to be pulled, but don't follow the other Red name precedents on our forum to lead us Back to stage1 repeatedly when we've already planned, discussed, compiled, and postedand are ready for stages 2 and 3 etc.
Not to mention the plan posted seems mostly like something that the dev(s) that run the artisian proffesions have thought off and wrote down instead of lookign at all the wonderfull, well thought out Idea's on these forums already...

Now, we can talk about whats wrong, what you'd like and where we are going or we can waste more time.
Nice to see some from Sony take a stance.
Which would you prefer?
(And FWIW, if you had threads locked, it is because you broke community policies...)
Not neccessarily. It all depends on who locks the thread and what kind of mood they are in. Lot threads locked yeterday that didnt break community policy at all.

I've been a Droid Engineer for a while now, and I know I've felt the pains of having to wait a very long time to see changes happen. However at the same time I feel somewhat ashamed at how members ofthe profession have expressed themselves through this situation. It so happens in real life I am an engineer, and one of the things that makes for a bad product is the pressure to get something donefast rather than well. A lot of people are getting cranky, and while I can understand the frustration to an extent, I don't think it is fair tofault Thunderheart forevery single word mispoken.
I don't think he's intentionally misleading us. Maybe he miscommunicated a few things, but I find his work on these forums to be an answer to the lack of communication which pre-existed it. There are 1000s of people for every employee at SOE, and only one Thunderheart among them. While I believe we do deserve some attention now, let's not put ourselves on Thunderheart's bad side by being upset whenever we don't get everything we want.
There's so much prejudgement and impatience going about, and it's leading to a lot of conclusions which may turn out to be quite false. I see some people screaming at him because they want things whichothers don't want. If we're like this, in the end we're only going to getthe thing which is the leastdisliked.
If you take a step back and consider what's been happening, we've heard that something is in store for us, that even combat droids are involved, that there will be more utility to our droids, that at least some of these can be used by other people, and that Thunderheart is still polling us for data. Consider what we knew 2 months ago and this is a lot better!
So I hope you folks at SOE don't feel like we're just an impatient crowd that doesn't appreciateyour apparentdesire to make us happier. While it sometimes feels that we're one of the most abused professions in the game
, I don't think it's intentional. Making this game better doesn't make my life better or anything. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, butI don't think it's fair to ask everything from you at once.
Yes...true. Most of us "engineers" know that it's NEVER a good idea to talk about a timetable when you cannot fully guarantee that said timetable can be met.
Just be more careful, in that regard, and you'll be fine. Believe it.
They keep making this mistake over and over again.
They promised Mounts and Player cities Space Expansion, and had to give up alot of the team to work on that instead of fixing what they have, and then add something thats bound to break.
Oh and lets not forget the rushed release.
