Thread: What droid handler class will do to DEs
Why shouldn't they do it?
How bout because it's taking aproffession that has many problems and instead of fixing them, creates a newprofession that gets all the enhancements the originalprofession should have gotten.
How would commandos feel if the devs said, hmmm lets have a Pyrotech class and lower the usefulness of the commando's Flamethrower and make a new class of Flame weapons that only Pyrotech's can use?
I started playing this game in the hopes that I could build droids and be a pet class that could participate in combat with the use of a good combat droid. I have attained Master Droid Engineer and been waiting for fixes to improve the profession and frankly hearing even the suggestion of a new proffession is highly dissappointing.
Dashell Gambit, MDE

I think it's pretty clear that Droid Engineer is a crafting class... not only are they crafting requirements, but it also has ENGINEER in the name and absolutely no combat skills.
Kudos to SOE, can't wait for droid handler, all I want to do is use droids like I do pets atm, I don't want to build the **edit** things, crafting is too much like hard work.

Unfortunantly, you'll be buying **edit**ty droids when you do, because all the knowledgable DEs out there will have dropped the class.

No, only the cynical ones will have dropped the profession. There will still be plenty of us knowledgeable types around.

I highly doubt that, sure a lot may drop it but a lot will pick it up as well. Some people are in it for the crafting and selling just like the Armor/weaponsmith. I became DE for that reason myself, I want to craft and sell the droids, not use them. Dont think that there arent any others like me because I know for a fact that there are, just most of them are not here in the forums.
/agree big time

You know this is why I hate threads like this. I love it when people express themselves particularly if they have educated themselves first -- even if I disgree with them.
If TH reads this thread he's gonna think the DE community is divided on the DH profession issue by the volume and vociferousness of the pro-DH'ers. Take a gander at the poll on this issue and you'll see what the DE community REALLY thinks.
Is it possible to debate this issue. Heck, yeah, we already have. But holding it up as two equal sides fails to capture the mosaic-like module of the DE community's opinion on the matter.
Um... volume and vociferousness of the pro-DH'ers? Who are they? Do you mean WarHero? I hope you're not counting me in that group... I'm definitely not pro-DH. I'm just not anti-DH either.
The poll is currently running about 13:1 opposed to Droid Handler, which doesn't surprise me a bit.
Do me a favor and answer the question that I asked in the poll: If, by voting "no" in Doughbacca's poll we will not be getting any new combat droids at all, is your answer still no?
I was just trying to express some of my opinions about DH and I get thrown into the 100% pro-DHer catagory. Im just like you, Im niether 100% pro or anti.

I think this is what i comes down to. The pure crafters finally got their wish. The rest of us -- the MAJORITY of us -- got screwed. I always said that pure crafter was the only option that would leave many DEs out in the cold and now we have it. No more oportunity to roleplay a hybrid DE, its Crafter DE or nothing. (Do the Math before you reply: Master Artisan, MDE, MDH -- what's left? Can it even be done?)
I really hope Droid Handlers can tame droidekas, that way the market wtill be just as borked for DEs as it is for BEs.

Give me a break man, your playing the Devil's, I mean, DH's advocate in this thread.
My point is a simple one: read this thread and there appears to be a divide in the community based on the volume of posts in favor of DH. That is a disortion because....

Yousaid it best, man.
... the Devs have to move the needed Master Artisan-Schematics into DE-Schematics , so we can drop the Master Artisan and able to skill the DH -Profession too.
I didnt see any comment from Thunderheart since his last post ... maybe all of this were only missunderstood. Wait ... he will comment this ... after that you can flame about that or drop your profession
Hope is a important attribute of a good Droid-Engineer

You to can give me a break, man. You just changed your vote to abstain which is great, but we're all whittle down your praise of the DH profession in this thread.
If you are abstaining then let us all let this thread die. The DE community is 99.9% unitied in opposition to this proposal.

What are you talking about? There hasnt even been any changes yet, your too quick to jump the gun my friend. Just because your in a majority doesnt mean everyone has to jump on your bandwagon. how would you like it if your country was a one party system where majority rules and everyone else can shut up and go away. If it makes you any happier I changed my answer from yes to abstain because I think there is too much mis-information and assumptions flying around to make it a simple yes/no answer.
