I post every now and then.. when the "muse is upon me".

As for the stats, I'd like to see the cross-profession hard-number breakdown if Holo's allowed to give them out. Until then, I sit in the darkened corner with the other 9% of Master DE's, mumbling incoherently about "blasted MSE droids", and drinking my Victory Gin.

Longtime Lurker, first time poster.

Never posted before because:

1. Didn't feel that there was proper attention to our posts by those in key positions to make changes.

2. Time constraints stopping me from being able to read through all the posts before posting myself - didn't want to be repetative.

I believe in what the Droid Engineer class can become. I am going to make it to MDE at some point cause droids are what capture the Star Wars' feeling for me, even if I am poor and struggling. There is no other class out there for me to be.

I think some people have the wrong idea about the profession boards. There are complaints that the Devs aren't reading the boards and acting on all the great suggestions here. The boards are here for discussions. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I don't think it says anywhere that the Profession Message Boards are a forum for the Developers to communicate with the players. How can people be mad about the Developers not doing something they aren't supposed to be doing (not supposed to be doing in the not-part-of-the-job-description sense, not the not-allowed-to-do sense)?

Did you know that only 2% of the entire DE profession bother to post and visithere? This is based on hard numbers given to me by Holo, as well as a good afternoon of leg work by me. Of all the DEs, only 9% are Masters.

What conclusions can be drawn from these two statements? Are they positive or negative? Just wondering why you (and others) found this interesting. It's kind ofneat stuffto know, definitely, but what does that say about our profession (if anything)?

And like some have said, I think itmight be more informative if placed alongside the percentages of other professions.

I think you're 100% correct. They expect the professions forums to be for our own discussions. Same with the server forums. Thats why they've got this new "Dev forum" where they will watch those posts and "try" to keep up on the posts from the other forums (though as we know they dont have time for that, I hardly have time to sift the wheat from the chauff in this forum much less all of them ! )

Why bother posting much anymore, in the first 2 months Numerous times, the list of what is broken and what needs to be fixed was discussed, presented and promptly ignored, wash, rinse, repeat, .... stall tactics from the Devs. Why re-hash whats been hashed over sooo many times, the novelty of arguing price, potential uses/moduels, true combat droids vs. probots, droid handler vs. droid engineer, droid certifications, I don't want to use my droids vs. I want to Use the droids I make- arguments has faded. The more I read the same things discussed back and forth among the 2%of DEs that post with NOTHINGin the way of feedback from the Dev side, theless I have positive to post here.5 months of beta and counting.

Woot,I'm one of the proud 9% of Master DEs. I am Master of the most useless profession in the game!

And obviously if only 9% of DEs actually Master the profession...... wouldn't that ring a bell or something to the devs that the class is horribly broken?

well at least when they fix us those of us that mastered even though the profession is broke will be able to build all the new droids while others(who thought it useless to master) will still be building the lower level droids.

To tell you the truth I hadn't bothered posting much at all. I read the forums and on a daily basis, but I find hardly any of the posts of any use as most of the information about this profession I get in-game from other peeps. I will not spend hours sifting through posts that all say "We want Droideka's" or the ever useful "This profession sucks! Fix it!" It is pointless. Don't get me wrong. I love being a DE. I would love to see changes to some issues that we experience.

A good thing that happened was the DE / BH relationship. great show! I have enough negativity in my life that I don't need to read more of it.

I usually lurk for the same reasons that some others said, the problems with DE's are readily apparent to all of us. The Dev's don't seem to pay any attention to us, while i read some of the other forums for other proffesions and it seems the littlest stupidest things are getting fixed. Like others have said I started playing this game to be a DE because thats what starwars was all about, to me at least, but this is terribly broken. It makes me really sad that the devs really don't care to much aboutmaking DE's work. Where is their overall plan? I like the idea of player input but not of player game design. They should of had a more clear-cut view of what all the classes should be BEFORE a single line of code was written, instead it looks like they are "playing it by ear" and getting are opinions on what the class should be. Shouldn't they "know" what the class should be capable of? I mean, I know what they promised me in the package, when I bought the game, but I mean please maybe they should have finished at least what the FAQ says before the game came out. So now I read forums and check for news on if they will ever fix us. Had i read them before-hand i may have never bought the game (lucky now noone without a subscription can read this), but for now im stuck a Droid Engineer/Carabineer/Creature Handler/Bio-Engineer/Master Artisan still trying to find out what the Nemodian Bird Cage is used for (I'm hoping it will be key in opening a FSCS). Anyway sorry about the rant, I'll go back to lurking again.

Yep, Im a Lurker too, someone get out the Detector or Im gonna kill all your marines and zealots.

I Have always lurked as opposed to posting because so little changes with the class. I am a Master DE on Eclipse and it seems to m the only things that have really changed with the class with the exception of fixing Medical modules has all been negative. (Probot nerf, Data module nerf-TWICE!, etc.) and when I log on there are already people complaining and I think hey, why just add to the yelling, it's changed it's gonna stay changed, ehhh...

I read the boards probably everyday just lying in wait for the golden moment when I log on and see that some DEV reported they are fixing all the DE issues, and adding all the good combat bots, and then a light will shine from heaven and trumpets will sound.

But I'll probably be lurking for a while waiting.

Only 2% read and post... that is far less than I would have assumed. It is kinda sad in a way too. I know that some don't even bother reading any messages at all except through the DEV Tracker. They feel that what is discussed here falls on deaf ears so what is the point of posting. As for only 9% being masters, that also is far less than I would have assumed. I know of more than one FORMER Master DE who has gone on to greener pastures. Although these numbers are sad, I am still curious about how DEs number vs other character classes, particularly other crafters. Thanks for sharing the information with us.
