Thread: Publish 7 Update

So we basically traded armor for damage. That's ok I guess, but I'm sure most people would want one for its tanking ability and not its damage output.
As I said in seperate thread. The Med Armor 40% resists, were not a bit imbalanced,, Untill they impliment Droid 'stims'.
I suggest keeping the Med Armor, 40% resists, or even allowing higher armor. And Losing he ability to heal a droid, In Combat. The kits could still beal damage inbetween fights.
This would give droids thier own individuality, and advantage. For the same 'power' you wouldnt have to heal them.
Fairly simple to impliment, because there is already the droid store/call timer. Just link the stim packs to that, along with the healing timer.
Astromechs only have combat slots now, dont they?
Does utility modules fit in combat modules slot? If so, would that be a bug/exploit?

I think there's one thing missing here.
I'd much rather have a probot with 10 damage and 1k ham with 40% medium armour.
Why do I say that? Because we need tanks. If my probot can go up against a mob and last longer, while doing less damage that's better for me, because I can get more experience from killing the mob. It's that simple.
Has anyone confirmed that this is a retroactive change, that my current probot with 820 ham and 40% medium armour is going to have 20% resists with no armour, but still have the same damage/ham? If they nerf the armour on all droids, they have to change everything else with it as well... you can't have one without the other here.
This is what I want to know as well. Are all those old probots now useless ?? Am I going to be gettting a ton of tells wanting cash back ?
Yes, it does appear to be retroactive.
My datapd droid on TC lost the stats as well, and the % kept changing - not sure what it is today.
It's sad that they told us to stock up on these droids, yet decided to nerf them after telling us to make a lot of them. If they weren't sure, they shouldn't have said it in the first place - and they will have one royally PO'd DE if they don't fix this before it goes live.
It doesn't matter what the reason is for it happening are, I just will be hard pressed to believe what comes down that pipeline again.

Bingo.
A CL 10 pet is not ever going to be useful for killing things beyond basic wild animals, and even that's a stretch. They just don't do enough damage, even at 150 per shot, to be effective combat pets. The only thing that made the old Probot useful was the fact that it could tank, and tank well.
This is a huge nerf to Droids, plain and simple. The old Probot's effective HAM was nearly 5500 due to its armor and resists. The new one's effective HAM is less than 1400. Sounds like a serious nerf to me.
Stims do not make up fora 3100 point reduction in effective HAM.
I'm a Droid Engineer, not a Droid Stim Maker. Furthermore, if they really think that Droid Stims are going to provide us with decent business when they can only be used on CL 10 pets, they've got another think coming. Pet stims sell for use on high level pets, not on CL 10 beetles, rabbits, and other assorted pests.

I have to agree. I mean, personally, I just won't make the things. I started crunching some numbers at the time and factory work, not to mention the gathering of twice the named resources I'm used to (just to make the B-packs, some C's), and it's just not going to be worth it for me because people aren't going to be paying the prices I'd have to charge to make it worthwhile.
I'd have to sell a crate of 25 stim-B's for how much I sell the original droid for. With the greatly reduced tanking ability of a Probot that's not going to be worth it for most of my customers. I guess this is their way of pushing the LE/R-units as tanks, but most people are simply against that in principle to begin with - it's unclear yet if they will work in practice for our buyers.

I never got into the battery market or the BH droid market 'cause there's just not enough profit margin. I doubt I'll be getting into the Stim martket either. I'll prolly just buy them from undersellers for my use and reselling.
Doubt I will be using them much if Lvl 10 remains the max. I have a lvl 10 mount that I've quit using in combat, its not worth the Stim use and mind cost. they go through that stuff like candies.

Yup, yup.
I did some research this afternoon. I don't know fully how all of this works, but I checked to see which (if any) of the new resources I might already have on hand.
As it turns out, I'll be able to make Stim C's right out of the gate with Advanced Capacitor Discharge thingies, but only regular Diagnostic Circuits and regular Unit Delivery do-dads. I don't know what that'll provide in terms of healing power per charge or number of charges per Stim, but at least I'll be able to provide them if by some miracle there's actually a demand for them.
I think I know where to get some Malab Siliclastic Ore, too, which would let me add the Advanced Diagnostic Circuit to the mix. Vendusii Crystal Armorphous Gemstone would let me move up to Stim D's, too. The other two named resources used in the Stims appear to be extremely rare on Ahazi - I can only find mention of 3 (each) appearances of Ionite Intrusive Ore and Baradium Armorphous Gemstone ever.
So it's probably because I'm such a resource pack rat, but I'm already in pretty good shape. I still find the whole concept laughable, though.
