i want a droideka... cant you people make a super hard quest for getting a droideka schematic? why cany yall make things super cool like that but hella hard to find.. that makes the game so much more enjoyable.

You already have the ris armor quest, try no get 9 of each component to get the armor... nearly impossible, plz stay away from such ideas...

Just in case this hasn't been brought up before - how about a translation module for 3P0 droids. Would add a great deal of utility.Better modules could translate more languages.

Evidently nobody ever REALLY asked DE's... Check the forums. Seems that most of us (yes I am a master de) want different platforms... putting a cdef pistol on a r unit is stupid. And, also, it is already way too hard to make these things, so from what I gather, you will make them harder to build even. I will drop DE, and probably the game altogether if the de "fix" is what it seems to be.

And tell me why in the world is star wars a game where lizards the size of apartment buildings can be controlled easily by a human, but a human cant buy a machine to fight ?? It seems to me this SHOULD be science fiction based, not.... well, fantasy... WHY cant I have a machine to fight?? this is STAR WARS, not giant lizard world where again huge monsters roam everywhere, and machines are the weakest entity... seems very untrue to the spirit of star wars...

I repeat... STAR wars, NOT giant lizard wars...

I think putting more different types into the game should be a top priority in the game. Many of us are looking foward to having Droideka's, Battle Droids, and Pit droids placed in the game.

Ignore my post above, i missread what the orginal post said. I thought they were going to implement the additonal profession for droid handler, my bad. As i re-read it anyone will be able to control a battle droid.

I've been thinking about another players comment to add more music for entertainers and such, sparked an idea to me, why don't we make it available for entertainers to record albums and sell them and such, (of course there would be no computers cuz then everyone on swg would download their music :smileyvery-happy but how cool would it be to be playing tuskens and just pop in a song on a player you've bought and listen to that instead of the same combat music everytime? Entertainers could finally have a way of making more money, most the time entertainers aren't tipped money at all for all their effort, sometimes they dont deserve it tho when theyre just being holo grinders. I also think that what theyre doing with crafting is nice, but i would like something to happen with the complete randomness of buffs and healing. Im a doctor and i hate getting yelled at because i give them all 2k's and then one messed up and gets a 900, and they want me to start all over on their buffs. It's quite annoying to have to re-buff people because theyre not just happy with what they get. People are never happy with what they recieve in SWG unless its perfect, i wouldnt suggest this if it wasnt true. Either people need to learn to take what they get or SWG needs to make everything perfect for these whiners because they have to have their way.

As soon as I started playing SWg I wanted to be a DE, but now that I am Master DE i finaly realise what a underused profession it is. And with the new modules in Publish 8, it should get some recognition, but as for publish 7. Its pathetic! Fair enough you get some combat bonuses on your droids, but as its already been pointed out, to get the highest level combat droid you need 6 100% combat modules and the only droid to hold that many modules is the R3, which doesn't have combat capabilities! I think the Devs need to go back to the drawing board and give the DE community what it deserves, useful droids that people will want to buy and use, that is why I feel the only decent publish regarding the so called Droid Invasion is Publish 8 as it gives you useful modules, personally i can't wait for the Barker Module, but this brings another point to mind. Why even have the module system, why not just release a new droid which has the single purpose of shouting your advertisement, same as a repair droid should repair and a surgical droid should heal. I feel its a rather stupid to be able to put a repair module into a surgical droid. Whats the point in calling it a surgical droid if you don't use it for surgery! What I would like to see in the future are new droids with specific job roles, I feel the only droid that should be multiskilled is the R-series as we all know how versitile they are. Now that i have got that off of my chest I'll wait and see if the Devs actually do anything more productive with the DE profession. Oh and one last thing, in one of the previous Publishesthe Devsgave the Advanced Binary Load Lifter 1 general module socket, for they amount of specific resources and the quantity, shouldn't it be able to do more? Seems a bit of a waste of time if you ask me, and also they didn't bother doing anything with the standard Load Lifter. IT DOES NOTHING YET IT USES UP SO MANY RESOURCES. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN CONSIDER BUILDING IT?! Its pointless things like this that is really hurting the DE profession. SO COME ON DEV'S GIVE US SOMETHING USEFUL!

These aren't the Droids you're looking for!.........Now THESE are the Droids you want!
All the latest features, and accessories! Look at the Chrome finish on this R2 unit!

Ooooooh! Shiny! I'll take 2!

Merchant Barker module: This would give droids the ability to bark advertisements, give waypoints to shops, have additional information available so players could list prices, services, etc through a radial menu command. So now instead of have dozens of afk player flooding Coronet with crap we'll have dozen's of droids doing it? Oh, what a wonderful improvement to the game.

After seeing the Chef re-vamp I was impressed with how widespread and valuable those food-buffs are. Having said that I am not so impressed at this moment with what I have been reading about the DE rework.

With only 250 skill points to work from a player is forced to make hard choices in this game. I want a substantial return on the skill points I spend. Now granted a weaponsmith can create a weapon he cannot shoot, a BE can engineer a pet he cannot control, an architect can construct buildings he cannot place or use, and there are other examples...

But when a CH can store and call a calvary division of engineered or wild pets and then use them to mow down anything in that player's path... telling me I get to make a lovely robotic CL10 pet is NOT going to make me happy. Sure we are all suffuse in the glow of attention being paid to our profession ... but we only get ONE shot at this before the Developer tank rumbles on to wreak mayhem on another profession. You seriously think adding a merchant spam module, a wimpy robotic version of my mount, and an eye-candy entertainer module is going to make me warm and fuzzy?

A hit parade:

1) Paint jobs should NOT wear out on ANYTHING... I don't NEED recurring income that bad... it's annoying.

2) Batteries should stack like identical resources - as in ALL my batteries should sit in ONE slot in my inventory. I can carry 100k of steel... I should be able to carry many more battery USES ... when I dump a battery on my stack it should click over the usage counter and destroy the battery... want to make it more 'craft' like? Give me a multi-battery widget schematic that I can 'craft' to house battery 'charges' --- I can add as many batteries as it is crafted to take... 25, 50, 75, 100... etc. Need a precedent? -- try a 'fireworks show package' ...

3) How about letting my droid tell me useful thingsI need to know or do useful things for me... want some examples?

a) The resource droid -- I don't ever see the 'fly and find best concentration idea'...wonderful as that is.. so how about a droid that houses a survey tool... level 1 - 6 modules 1 for each category... (min, chem, water, gas, flora, power) Have the bot able to hook into the survey 'net' and tell me the current stats of whatever resource is out there... not the location just the stats for a currently available resource. Hey, make a hunter version that works for like a ranger and tells me what the stats are going to be off that big ugly mugg over there... BEFORE I get incapped/dead trying to take it down for its hide only to find out that mr. canyon Krayt has terrible stats for it.

b) Make a droid that gives me a news ticker when I ask for it... vendor management, tells me when the FREAKIN shuttle is going to arrive... how bout letting that useless mouse bot shoot through a little porthole at the starport and by my TICKET for me... I think I could sell a few of THOSE to people.. allow my droid to act as the ticket vendor ... calls up the exact same graphics (lets keep the code simple) and then I don't have to play rat run for cheese...

c) Same for the bazaar... mr droid can plug into the city bazaar net and act as a bazaar terminal....

4) how about an indication of whether or not a droid actually HAS any thing in it's datapad or item storage before I call it... not exactly what... just a empty/not empty flag

And lest we forget - I want to be able to create a droid that can do what creatures can do currently. What is more 'star wars' a graul mauler or a droideka? Am I alone in wondering how we went from a great SCi-Fi classic universe to the 'Land that Time Forgot'?

Tell me I didn't hold on to MDEfor MONTHSonly so I can tattoo 'MORON for wating' on my forhead... so far I am still waiting for a droid that does more than give me another chance at carpal-tunnel-syndrome...

Here's what I'd like to see done with droids in the future:

First off, more droids. Droids were a huge part of the movies, and we need a lot more variety in the kinds of droids we see ingame.

Second, the droids in SW:G lack that independance that made them so neat in the movies. I propose a series of modules or chips that would allow them to function on their own, based on the parameters set by their owner. For example:

An R5 droid has a chip that allows it to "think", as well as a medical module. The owner loads it with stims, and gives it orders to heal any members of his/her group that are incapped. The group engages say, a group of Squills, and the R5 scurries around healing people as it is needed.

Another way to integrate droids in as they were in the movie is the creation of faction bases that have locked/coded doors. A droid is given a module that allows it to slice codes in doors, and as the players advance through the base, the only way to get these doors open is through slicers or these droids - slicers would sometimes have the problem that Han Solo had in Return of the Jedi, though, and only make the problem worse. These faction bases would - while a door is being dealt with - spawn enemies that would target ONLY the droid/player trying to hack the door, as well as a few enemies that would target anyone in the player group.

Of course, droids would be vulnerable on any mission their owner set them on- but giving certain droids the ability to function away from their owner would greatly help make SW:G more movie-like. I'm not saying give EVERY droid these abilities, but the ones we KNOW function on their own - astromechs and protocol droids, for example.

Well, that's just my thoughts. Oh, and Imperial/Rebel bases need to be much more complex.

Oh, before I forget - on the note of translation and protocol droids:

Having everyone speak English in game really takes away from the diversity that having languages presents. It's stupid to have so many different languages if they can all be learned in mere seconds.

Protocol droids should DEFINATELY be used for translations, and the learning process for languages needs to be made much more detailed. It should be something that takes time - not missions, but exposure. Perhaps having the words of a language you already know come up in the foreign langauge on the actual game world, but in the chat window, come up as English. I dunno - but the langauges need to be used and made more prominent.

I couldn't agree more! This is at least the third DE I have read saying, "Make droids useful!"

From a non-DE prespective I want the same things -

A surgical/med droid should be able to heal (to at least a limited extent)

A combat droid should be able to fight.

A repair droid should be able to fix things.

Etc, etc.

by themselves.

Droidsshould not be able to do these things as well as PCs, but they should do something other than being portable storage units. People buy them to supplement abilities they don't have, not just to have as expensive "jewelery". I understand the Devs fear that droids may unbalence the game -just balence them like everything else in the game. If I go up against a Bounty Hunter with a combat Probe droid, I'm going to expect to get my butt kicked. On the other hand, an engineer with a R2 unit shouldn't scare me as I'm walking down the streets of Coronet.

To give a personal example - As a relatively new player, I don't speak a lot of languages. I would like to be able to supplement this handicap by buying a droid to act as a translater for me. Seems simple enough - no world shattering imbalances that I can see - but this isn't available; odd being that a major Star Wars movie droid (C-3PO) did exactly this job for Luke Skywalker and others!

(As a side rant - I cannot for the life of me see why I can'tget a SILVER 3PO unit. Even the DEs I have talked to can't change the gold color with a customization kit! I see them everywhere else in the game, so I know it's not a 'code' issue. What's the deal here?)

Anyway, lets put the science back in this science fiction game (Isee so many "pets", but so few droids - this is Star Wars for goodness sake!) Make it easier for DEs tobuilduseful droids thatactually helpcharacters in more useful ways and the rest of us will beat the door down to buy them.

P.S. I'll be the first in line for that Starport ticket buying MDE - the lag just kills me when ever I get close!
